I've never had a set of front brakes last close to 50k miles on a car, 25k MAYBE. You do much more stop and go driving than I do...I guess I sold my 2003 Camry with 39,000 miles on it. It went right through MD inspection no problem and the Car now has over 54,000 on it now and brakes are still fine.

I am not crazy about it either. Here is a link to a MB form that has some more pics too... http://mbworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t...highlight=class

My Dad loves that guy! I think he is nuts! :D

Best of luck to you with you BMW! Did you sell outright or did you trade in? SW is right about the service...as long as you keep record of it you can do it your self or have it done anywhere you want. Just wondering...how many times do the brakes need replacing before the warranty is up...BMW is what 50,000 mile warranty? Are the brakes really going to need replacing before then? I am just asking because I tend to change cars frequently and I think i have only had to put brakes on 1 car...and I think I had well over 50,000 on it???

My wife loves black cars....THANK GOD her new car is not black (granite grey I love that color easy to keep clean :) ) IMHO- The only time black looks good is when you have just finished cleaning it. Black is not a color that you can do a little mini clean up job with quick detailer very well. Ifyou plan on getting your car for a everyday driver...get silver or you will have to clean it every couple of days! Good Luck!!!! :D

I could have bought an 03 and just about did until I saw a 04. I like the 03 but I like the look of the 2nd gen much better. Also the layout of the inside better too. Also had a 350 as a loaner...have to say I was impressed with the increased HP...too! :D The way I would look at it is...whatever type of car/suv you buy it will not be long before something newer and better is out. Get what you want (As long as it is a Lexus J/K)...you are going to be the one driving it!

What da...Fa you be-atches talkin bout...better aks sumbuddy :D Don't hertm hamma LOL

DC- I am not sure where this guy is? The point that I was making about the limits is for us here in the USA forums... I also am not saying much about him going 150...I have done it before, but I am not encouraging anyone to go out and do it.

That is why the Federal Government should require all car insurance to cover a certain amount of Bodily Injury and Property damage coverage. Since they do not and states set the minimums (MD 20/40/15 some states are lower) that the insurance will cover you are asking a great question...It sure will not take much to do $15,000 in Property damage and that is all that would be covered (MD) and then he will be sued for what his estate is worth. When I was younger I did stupid too! I think I have grown up now :D but things can happen...no one ever plans on having an accident.

Take a look at this... http://info.insure.com/auto/collision/diminishedvalue.html diminished value claims are a little complicated depending on which state you are in but Steve is right...let your insurance company or since you have a lawyer let him take care of it for you, or at least tell what you should do.

Just get a regular roadside assistance plan...mine covers any car I am driving even if I do not own it, as long as it is not a commercial vehicle or RV (they have plans to cover those too). I have Allstate Motor Club, AAA has plan and so do many others including some cell phone companies...I would stick with Allstate or AAA... My plan cost about 70 per year. This is what is covered... you can buy better plans if you want... Benefits Roadside Ad(S) EMERGENCY ROAD SERVICE $100.00 LOCK-OUT $100.00 LEGAL DEFENSE $750.00 TRIP INTERRUPTION $750.00 THEFT/HIT & RUN REWARDS $5,000.00 ARREST BOND CERTIFICATE $500.00 RV AND MOTORCYCLE COVERAGE N/A TRIP PLAN YES HOTEL/MOTEL YES CAR RENTAL DISCOUNT YES KOA CAMPGROUND DISCOUNT N/A SPOUSE/DESIGNATED OTHER INCL.

Is that a KUBOATO? spelling? If so that is one H E LL of a grasscutter...you must use that for other things to... my grandfather is a retired farmer and my 2nd father in law is a farmer (wife's step dad) So I can get the Lawn stuff through them...I will check into that by the way the lawn looks great... I will post some pics of mine...I have only been at this house for about a year...got the front yard pretty good...back yard is err ;) well ok but I have about an acre here so I am more worried with keeping the front looking good! Nice waves in the lawn too!

Lesco has it. I got 5 gallons of it (cheap: about $65). You can make your grass so darn green (almost black). I use over the max per qt/ft. I use about 12 oz per 1,000 feet. Green up in about 1 week. If you want instant green use Green lawnger. That is what golf places use (and sport events). :) Oh, if you re-seed and have major weed problems try Drive 75 DF. I might be restricted in your state (so check). 1 lb is a about $130 but works great for re-seeding or overseeding. For Weed/Feed by far best granular is Momentum FX2. Works great for 99% of the weeds. Gets rid of clover too! If you like to spray (like me) try Momentum (post), Confront (post), Dimension (pre/post killer for weeds and POA), Pre-M (pre), Gallery (pre) etc. I like lawn stuff just as much as car stuff. Wife thinks I lost my peanut with the lawn stuff. The spray is more $$$ but lasts longer. I made my lawn for crap to the best one around. Mburn- Are you a lawn guy? J/k thanks for all of the info!
-
Maybe your lawn wants some "soft water" too! LOL Try some Chelated Iron on the lawn .....stuff is great! Green for months. Mburn...going to have to look for that...where did you get it? I have used Miracle grow weed and feed in the spring...and I just Limed and re seeded...people across the street have me off...they just laid sod...man it looks good!!!

But...my ecowater system is not hooked up to any of my outside faucets or irrigation system only the whole house sediment filter is...I have it set up so before any water goes to the eco system it is pre filtered...but if all you are concerned with is washing the car than that is fine...but for the same amount of money or even less you can filter all of the water for your whole house...and no it will not make that much difference but it keeps the sediment out of your pipes...and your water...the key is the filter cartridge that you put in it anyway... After you see how much stuff is picked up with the filter you may want to get a whole house filter anyway! :D

By the way I forgot to mention... Once we got back to BWI...about 1:30 am...I was driving home and forgot just how nice my car drove...I looked down and I was going 80...the bad thing was that I was in a 55...and I was not the only one who noticed I got pulled over ! :chairshot: And to make everything worse the whole trip to the airport my wife kept telling me that I was going to get a ticket... :chairshot: Man...I just laughed...when the cop came up to the window I had my DL, registration all ready for him...handed it to him and just smiled and told him I was sorry...I know I was speeding. He said..."I was running radar when I got you at 74...and you were slowing down" I agreed and told him again...that I knew I was speeding and apologized again...he told me that if my driving record was clean he would let me off with a warning...I think that he saw all of the luggage in the back of the car and could tell I looked like I was just ready to go home...well 10 minutes later he was still in his car...I was wondering what was going on? Then he comes up to my window and says " We have a problem" ...I am like " " he replied " I dropped your change of address card and it fell behind my dash...the only way that I will be able to get it is to remove my dash" I told him keep it! I was so happy to get a warning...but to tell you the truth if he gave me a ticket...I could only have been mad at myself...he was just doing his job...he was a pretty cool guy! :D

Me...too! I think the Nav systems are pretty easy...I also have used the Gen 3 and Gen 4...I like the look of the 4 much better... :D
-
SW- I do not notice any spotting on my car...and I am pretty sure that you will not pick much in your homes pipes...the sediment filter will pick up most of it before it gets in your home...I understand what you are saying...but I do not think you could tell the difference...in washing your car? I could be wrong...

I have the dyson and a Central Vac. The dyson picks up more in 1 time then the central does in 1 week. It is well worth the money. I use the vac everyday since my son likes to watch it. I can fill the tube in 3 days. What type of Central Vac system do you have? We also have a Phantom...that we had in our old house that has a clear canister...after running the central vac I can run it and it will not pick up much of anything... You know, I have a central vac, but I have laminate and hardwood flooring all over my house! House came with it when we bought it. They said it's also good for cleaning cars too, but haven't tried that yet. I have all hardwood and tile downstairs besides the master bedroom which is carpet...we have a end that works very well for the hardwood and the tile...we also have a 115lb English lab that stays inside so we clean up white hair all of the time...funny thing is that if it was not for that dog...I do not think we would need to vacuum or sweep more than once or twice a month...now it is every 2-3 days...I can not stand anything that is dirty... ;)
-
Do you like the central vac? I ask because I've never met anyone who has a central vac and uses it. SW...I have used the VAC...a couple of times... my wife tends to do most of the vacuuming most of the time...but yes I think it is great...plug the hose into the wall anywhere in the house and it works great...in the garage I have a plug to use for the cars and after having it I know my wife would not go back to having a regular vac...besides all of the dust is outside in the garage so it is not in the house and no bags or filters...all self cleaning and contained. Now I have seen some of the old models they are much more difficult to clean out and empty and I think that you have to buy filters for them...not to much suction either...our will pick the tile off of the floor if you are not careful... :D
