  1. nice work! very professional! keep up the photo-chop-chop!
  2. all rear suspension parts are midly difficult. do a search and find arkansawers post, there is instructions on the rear suspension. Good Luck!
  3. Sure did. Took a LONG time but sine the alt is bad i didn't wanna prematurely kill the battery form too many starts! i used a piece of 3/8" O.D. clear tubing and shoved it into the return hose, then used the clamp to secure it. some fluid leaked but the shop towels were there! Hey Leadfoot i found the manuals "official" Solenoid bump test! Only for the 90-91! steering_system_electronic.pdf
  4. one more thing while it's still fresh! when flushing i didn't start the car, alt possibly dying again(another story) so i jacked both sides up and used the lock-to-lock method to drain. here's what i've discovered: 20 rotations empties a full(to the brim) pump reservoir to the bottom of the dipstick and 30 is all the way. wouldn't go more than 30 to be safe! :D
  5. What would really help is a photo or two. Like many others, I'm waiting patiently (2 years and counting) for someone to post a photo(s) of how they removed the solenoid. There's so much that can go wrong when attempting removal and so much at stake (a $2,000 steering rack) that I'm not willing to chance it until I see a photo showing exactly what needs to be done to remove the solenoid. Monarch, as easy as the procedure sounds.... it's ten times easier! seriously, i used the pic you posted showing the turning direction and exactly where to place the chisel and hammer (sorry no Digi Cam yet :( ) i already had a chisel slot on the unit but i didn't use it, and also had a small rip in one section of the screen. but a madium sized (medium as in about a half inch wide) chisel and good hammer hit did the trick. like i said be sure to not hit the R&P but if so (you'll see scars) move the chisel down a bit and.... WHACK! thing turned! when i get a cam, next week i'll show you the position! also cleaning was a breeze but tedious. used LOTS and LOTS of WD-40 (Brakleen spout broke) and a small sowing pin. i scraped the black gunk into oblivilion (spelling) then washed it out with the WD and shop towels. Done, thanks guys! also replaced return line. aftermarket shops think it's pressurized and will all say "Go to the dealer" so i did. good people! the whole line down to the R&P was $125 but i showed the tech what i needed and he said that a regular power steering hose was all i needed. $12 and when you remove the hose hardly and ATF will spill, so don't worry!
  6. Just Removed Solenoid! :D :D :D use the primative hammer and chisel! screwdriver was too small, vice grips locked but didn't turn, i also went to pep boys and bought a "universal non scaring rotation tool" but i wouldn't grip (couldn't figure out use). the thing that was hardest about the chisel was the fact that you might have it too high and grind into the R&P. i was, then i moved it down a bit and one good strike (like others have noted ) and the thing turned. i didn't even notice until the chisel mark wasn't there. also might wanna keep some vice grips in case it stopps turning (mine did multiple times). also the wire connectors just pop out, sorta like the trunk lining (simple plastic tabs, use medium force!) hope this helps others and... Good Luck!
  7. my needle also stays on the third line?! but when i had the Toyota red stuff in there it was slightly above the second line. i used a OEM Toyota Stat and Prestone Yellow "Universal" coolant. never overheated but just concerns me. also with the toyota red stuff the engine temp stayed consistent longer, the yellow stuff rises and lowers very quickly! you should be fine though! Good Luck!
  8. may not have a use? here check this out! fuses_and_circuit_breakers.pdf
  9. Totally agree! who knows what bozo had their hands on the car (crap mechanics, crap owners, etc) but the car looks good! Personally i like the style of the 460 better, but the price is tempting? add in the balance of factory warranty... :D Good Luck
  10. Sorry just you run of the mill solenoid cleaning!
  11. <_< I ordered some audio parts from Sound FX audio about two weeks ago. i was sent a confirmation email but cant reply or send them an email. i also sent the money the very next day and on their website they don't show that it was recieved! when ordering they listed that credit card is no longer accepted and money order or personal check was req'd so i send a MO. i'm thinking about cancelling the MO because i haven't heard from them. has anyone else had this issue and what was the outcome? thank you!
  12. ebay.com has cali custom lowering springs (search) for 200 and you can find tanabe's for about the same price! Good Luck
  13. Just a lil something for you to consider..... http://web6.streamhoster.com/vinyasi/strea...band/index.html Badguy
  14. look at the front brake section. my repair manual is for a 90 but tells about how the 91 has dual piston calipers! they noted that so i'd assume everything else is the same?
  15. the 93-94 LS are identical i think. i saw on a car website that the 90-92 and 93-94 only differ in the body molding(93-94 has lower f/r bumper, ss) but a 93 to 94 swap should be a direct bolt-on swap
  16. just what i was thinking? happened to me in the front. pass side brake pad were soo low the piston was pushed out pretty far and would "clunk" when engaged. changed pads and no noise! good luck
  17. just took my headlight out of the car's bracket to see if there was enough room. for my observation there is just enough, actually if looks like a perfect fit. the lense may touch the headlight glass but that is what gives the best output. also i may even be able to keep the retaining ring and the OEM look! definately gotta file the opening a little larger and may need custom mounting brackets :cries: . the 1st gen doesn't have a seperate reflector bowl it's all the housing, so i may have to drill holes in it to mount the projector? but there's also some breather valves on the sides of the housing. i assume this is to let exessive water escape but i think that may hurt my HID's? just wanted to let everyone know that the job will continue, rain, sleet, snow, hail! P.S. will get camera next week!
  18. coilovers are best for the suspension. they're a one-piece design using two different components and are designed to be more adjustable than a standard strut/spring setup. the two parts were in R&D at the same time meaning their compatibility is A+! i would say go for it if you want the best suspension. on the 1st Gen LS Coilover cost about $3k, where you can get a aftermarket spring/strut combo for about $450-600. very expensive but for good reason. there is even EDFC or something like that which allows you to lower the car from inside! personally i say use the best materials, get the best results!
  19. I agree! good luck! S&K Auto <jcandcompany@hotmail.com> wrote: $600 including shipping S&K Auto Fredericksburg, Va. 540-455-0598
  20. ebay has 5800K. buy quick those bulbs are new and pretty rare as of now. the new IS also uses D4S. interesting, the GS does too here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TWO-NEW-PHI...sspagenameZWDVW good luck
  21. that video was halarious! "just check my feedback" too funny, really needed that!
  22. Really...I guess it's a little late for that one. You've never met Ralph; I have, and while suprising, I got a kick out of all of your comments on him since they couldn't be any more untrue. Self esteem issues, angry????????????? You clearly know nothing about him; otherwise, you wouldn't write such things about a person as generous, nice, and just flat out like-able as Ralph is. like i said i do not know the guy. did i post this based on knowing him personally? no. i posted this based on his other posts. why would he say my judgements are wrong? based on my other posts. i'm sure he's a nice guy but seems kinda passionate about this subject and his opinion! sorry if i stepped on your toes refering to him. guess i'm the bad guy
  23. mike moore is interesting to me. did you see him at one of the republican conventions. i think dude from Arizona was talking and mentioned his name. the camera zomed on him and he had a nice upper level seat. they even welcomed him as a guest, and stated that they supported his movie. you should check the movie on the second page. don't forgot to reflect on your feelings/opinions! P.S. Someone wrote a book on the fallacies of FH 9-11. specifically FH 9-11, nothing else in the book? if so sounds like someone is milking two ends of the same cow?? what do you think?
  24. ok well since you are so smart tell me where my judgement is wrong? you continue to direct all of your comment directly at me! you have not made one reference to the video or anything you saw in it as being wrong. dude you tried to justify watching the whole video (central time zone) then you are saying that you "absorbed the whole thing in 20 min"? AHHHHHHHHHHH! now i see you are just like Bush. you think you can mumble whatever and trip people up with off-topic comments and ramblings! Sorry i just have to say this! I told you that i love you and i do. i love everyone. but you do not. i can tell by your posts'. you try to compare your self with me and personally i think you have self-esteem issues. i think you are angry that i am able to speak what i want with no fear! well too bad! i wont say anything to hurt other people or talk about them personally having not known them but you are just comical. I have bad judgements on all fronts? who made you judge of my judgement? dude you even tried to play me like you "DID MORE THAN ME FOR KATRINA". does that make you feel good? do you want a pat on the back? would you like if i said "RF you the most greatest knowledgeable person on earth, everything you say is golden and i am a can of worms, blah, blah, blah!" i will pray for you(definately)! I will end this with one of my favorite quotes:"You cannot put new wine in old wineskins, or else the skins will burst and the wine spilled. Likewise, anyone having tasted the old wine will not immediately desire the new for he says 'the old is better'"
