  1. If someone says the sky is falling and it doesn't, then an explanation is in order I think.
  2. Whatever happened with this? It seemed like a big deal at the time. Is a mia culpa in order?
  3. The replacement pads work fine. Just do it.
  4. All you need to do is get it done or do it yourself and keep the receipts.
  5. At one time the speed limiters were set to match the speed rating of the OEM tires. For instance, some F body cars came with touring tires and had lower set limiters than the ones that came with Z rated tires. In most European countries the tires much match the capability of the cars.

  7. This is pretty common with IS300. I can't count the number of times I've heard of it and I had the same thing on my 02. I've never seen a solution for it other than to rotate tires to try and even out the wearl.
  8. Thanks. It's good to have that documented here. It will show up if anyone searches on shimmy.
  9. Your latest thread about oil changes got merged in with the 233 other posts about oil changes. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=42887 This is the most recent dealership post I see: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...st&p=360743 Here's another one I found: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...st&p=358058 Were there more? If we can be of further assistance please advise.
  10. Same story, "different guy", same old crap. If it's on the internet it's true. BTW: I don't believe a member with just a few posts has PM privileges. Thread closed. Got something different and real? PM me.
  11. The tires may be smoothing out after they warm up. After driving awhile the pressure is going to increase a little. If the tires have a folded nylon ply under the belt then that's going to flat spot and thump till it warms up too.
  12. Mechanic is probably right about the head gasket. One other thing to check would be the PCV valve.
  13. First thing to do would be to have the tires balanced.
  14. I don't think so. It would be in the tire supplement with the manual. If there is any coverage it's by the tire company. If there isn't any serious damage a puncture can be repaired fairly cheaply at most any tire store.
  15. Merged into the Great Oil Change Discussion thread.
  16. I said chill. Opinions and other considerations on topic are welcome here, but getting all butt hurt is not. Case closed.
  17. Chill people. Let's not start another whizzing contest here. Thanks.
  18. You could try Alldata.com It's another paid subscription so I don't know for sure.
  19. Bartkat, this link does not open the PDF file, it requires registeration with http://my.is/. Can you or anyone ellse make the file downloadable from lexusownersclub.com/ Thank you. Headlight_aim.pdf
  20. It can wear out brakes fast too. Lots of people ride around with their left foot near the bake pedal and unconsciously let their foot rest on the pedal.
  21. There is info here: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-second-...te-removal.html And here: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-second-...m-solution.html I gather that 07 and later models are prewired.
  22. Good deal. I gotta call about mine next week. I like to give them a chance to learn on some other cars before I take mine in.
  23. Yeah it can be a real PITA to adjust the seat after a mech or someone has moved it like all the way forward or back, etc. However I'd rather put up with that occasional problem than to not be able to adjust for comfort and readjust as on taking a long trip.
