  1. Does the dome light come on when you open the door? My early 06 IS350 has LED foot well lights.
  2. If i wanted to change fluid I'd wait at least to 35000 miles.
  3. Put a new battery in the key fob.
  4. So they can open it and service it then. Sounds like somebody did. :D
  5. We have a link to downloading the repair manual at the top of this page.
  6. You could try sewell lexus parts online. They are much cheaper than the local dealers. You can search their site by car model and part.
  7. The first thing to know is that the 2JZ is not a V6, doesn't have tons or power, and take it from there.
  8. Look up fair market value at Edmunds.com. What with the dings and stuff, your car doesn't sound all that pristine. To a prospective buyer or even the dealer that indicates other things that may have been neglected. To sell as certified the dealer is going to have to fix that plus you can include the cost of the equivalent to a platinum warranty so subtract that from your trade value as well.
  9. The google is useless to me. How can I tell anyone to search or find a link for them if I don't know how to make it specific?
  10. Gotta do all you can.
  11. Best friends dad was a new car dealer and another friend owned a large wholesale car auction. I could always get actual local selling prices weekly across that auction. And yes, sit down and negotiate your trade in value and then buy the new car.
  12. If one considers a trade wholesale vs wholesale or retail vs retail, one will usually come out ok. Getting heavy on the new side or light on the trade in, one is usually getting screwed. The bottom line when trading in is the difference number, pure and simple.
  13. In auto mode it's going to run on outside air most of the time except under certain conditions at start up as noted above and sometimes when idling in heavy traffic or hot conditions. Running on recirc all the time is going to get pretty stale air after while I think.
  14. Go somewhere else. I could have gone to the big dealer in Birmingham or the smaller one in Huntsville. Maybe a better price in B'ham but there's more to owning a car than initial price. Whatever your priorities are, just make your choice. I would have walked on that dealership too and I wouldn't be returning their calls.
  15. Badger is Badger and Lexus is Lexus. There is a whole spectrum in between. My dealer treats me like family.
  16. I think it was the 72 Maverick with 302V8 in it. That thing was pretty fast and the first couple times it did that in cruise it scared hell out of me.
  17. I don't remember what car it was but i had one that you could stop at a light and then hit resume and the cruise would hit WOT until it reached set speed.
  18. Make sure you run it all the way back, the second step and try to close it again.
  19. Weird! Mellow down, this is hardly a serious discussion! Sorry if this chit chat seems to offend you? Perhaps there are one too many dealers frequenting this forum. If so, perhaps you dealers should understand that a customer's concerns are a priority, not your desire to get him into any car you can. Twisting the truth to your own ends may work on some customers, but it can backfire if you come across as disingenuous. Those are the only dealers I give up on. There's one I am talking to right now who is worlds above the others in knowledge honesty and all-around just being a nice person. He's going to get 100% of my business, and I think I'm going to have to pay almost retail too (though I'll try to at least squeeze something extra out of the deal). Yes it can take 3 months to get a car by order (not 6 from what I'm told) but if the config I'm looking for isn't available, I have no choice but to wait longer. One odd thing a dealer told me was that if I order now, I'll probably get a 2010, but then he started saying since he doesn't have the new pricing he didn't know if that was possible. When a product is much loved and anticipated, you will find many rumors regarding it! I love this car! :D It's as serious as we the moderators and management want it to be young man. We will be the ones to decide that. If you want to dealer bash, go ahead if justified, but mod bashing is frowned upon on this forum. Now you chill before your mouth gets you off to a bad start on LOC. Bartkat, Just to make sure "my mouth" doesn't get me into more "trouble," could you please point out where I was "mod bashing." Just want to make sure I understand what you define as mod bashing and/or unacceptable/disruptive behavior. I agree that mod bashing (and member bashing for that matter) is not conducive to anyone. Sorry you took it that way, but looking over my reply to you, I think it was appropriate considering your comments to me. This a car lovers forum... I cannot think of another place that is meant to be more relaxing and cool, in other words, one place where you dont have to be so serious! You're giving me a rather cold reception as a mod. We aren't dealers. No one took offense. When I said chill i meant chill. Got anything else take it to PM. Your very manner in telling me/us how to run a car forum in your latest post is not exactly a friendly remark. Just letting you know that. No offense intended.
  20. 80 to 100 K miles. It seems to vary.
  21. I'm not sure how good of quality they will be at that price to be honest.....AFAIK to get OEM quality HID's, there is some electrical upgrades required.....not just a ballast. I've converted a 01 Civic and my 06 IS350 and didn't need any upgrades, just the kit.
  22. I got the MTEC kit off the guy who has the Ebay store. He's got the ones made in Japan. On the 2nd gen IS there isn't much room for ballast so try to get the compact starter/ballast kit.
  23. There may not be a C forum. It's a IS350 and not that unique except for the drop top.
