  1. Maybe they figured the tint would filter enough UV to keep you from getting skin cancer. But from the number of posts on wind fluttering, most people ride with the windows down anyway. Lexus just can't win.
  2. It seems to me the better kits have the starter and ballast combined into one box. But it is a good idea to get one with a compact box since there is little room in an IS to place it.
  3. I remember Carol Sue sitting in her rich daddy's Caddy with Keith trying to reach in and grab her back in 19 ought and 57 and Carol Sue kept running up the power windows and almost took poor Keith's arm off. Them things just wasn't safe.
  4. Didn't he invent the brake? Yes he did.
  5. All comments or questions regarding brake pad performance should be referred to Sir Knightshade.
  6. Yes there is already another thread about this.
  7. Depending on how old your bulbs are just putting new bulbs will give more light.
  8. I'm just saying that you could get in an old type car and drive away without a big warmup.
  9. Well now it's not always about cold start ability to drive. Older cars had chokes and fast idle controls. It's just not a good idea to start a cold engine and blast off at a high rate for several reasons.
  10. I don't think I've seen a practical "safe" way to do this on the second gen Is
  11. Does anyone have the TSB on this? I've been looking and can't find it. I have done alot of research on it and I now know exactly what it is. It appears that the majority for is350 owners have this problem. Someone on another IS forum recorded the sound and it sounded just like mine. According to lexus it is a VVTI actuator or something like that. There are two of them but some dealers only replace one. It also does not require a removal of the head as some may think. http://www.lexustsb.com/questions/201/TSIB...At+Cold+Startup
  12. OK I tried it at night. The footwell lights stay on all the time after you enter the car. It doesn't matter whether headlights are on or off. They just go to a dimmer level when you put the car in gear or lock the doors. They are just so low you probably can't see them in daytime.
  13. Do you mean to extend lower or longer?
  14. Wow! Learn something new every day!
  15. Read the PDF on custom settings. I checked the default setting last night and that's what I have. I didn't try with the lights on and in gear. Will try to do that.
  16. Go to the handy owners manual pdf's at the top of this page and click on customizable settings. The default for footwell lights is on, the customizable setting is off. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...ost&id=3750
  17. Yep. I'm sure mine are the default setting for an 06 IS350 because they have never had anything changed.
  18. Well the LED floor lights don't come on when you open the door and the light is so faint. They stay on all the time once the headlights turn on. I'm not sure what you are saying here but: The footwell lights come on when you open the door, stay on after you start the car, and go off when you put the car in gear. That's what they are for, to assist entry.
  19. He didn't want them to come on when he opened the door?
  20. That's probably the wisest thing to do.
  21. The only options I have are 18 inch wheels. I have the foot lights. You should have them too.
  22. I got A/C. I never open any windows and never open the sun roof or the sun shield. It just makes it noisy and wind in the car. I' glad they invented car A/C.
  23. Seems pretty accurate.
