  1. You just need the deck kit and the TA02 wiring harness, no need for the female wiring harness. Yes, an amp install kit should come with all the proper wiring, except speaker cable for the subs. In our cars it is good to run the cables through the holes in the back behind the rear seat. When you put the box in have the subs pointing to the rear of the car, I heard that produces the best sound quality. With 2 subs you may want to consider sound deadening for the trunk at least to reduce vibrations.... http://www.raamaudio.com
  2. This is a common problem. What happens is that a few capacitors on the instrument cluster circuit board fail. All you need to do is take the cluster out, de-solder a few capacitors, then re-solder a new one in. I will have instructions for this coming to my site in the near future. I do have cluster removal instructions on my site. If you don't want to DIY, then send it to Jim Walker and he'll fix it for around $200.
  3. Off the top of my head....you'll need HU, install kit, wiring harness, power wire for amp, ground wire for amp, remote turn on wire for amp, RCA cable, sub, speaker wire for sub, sub box.... That's all I can think of now. I assume you'll be just placing the sub box on the trunk floor, right?
  4. I'll be sure to let everyone know if we're going to meet. As I said before, it will probably be in the spring. By that time I'll be sure to at least have a page up on my site announcing a meet...when and where. In those pics we had 3 GS's, 1 ES coach, and my LS. I didn't start the club...the guy that did wants to someday fill that parking lot! Looks like we have more interest and that's awesome B)
  5. Here's a few pics from our biggest meet...we've got 5 so far!
  6. Yup, but it's going to take a lot of $$$ and a good body shop.
  7. A Lexus! We've only had a few meets so far and it's just me and a few other guys. I was going to do a page on my site for the club but I haven't got around to it yet...I'll put something together quickly so you guys can see the line up!
  8. Glad you found my site :) Hey, you should join our MN Lexus Club....next meet will probably be in the spring.
  9. This question gets asked so often I wrote this: http://www.lexls.com/repairmanual.html
  10. What next? DRIVE IT!!!! :whistles: I think you're set for a while, good job with all your work, now it's time to enjoy your LS.
  11. You're quite luckly!!! Welcome to the club Check out my site, it should help you out in restoring your LS ;).
  12. Now I'm getting about 19 MPG for all city driving, and 26 for all highway driving. Before I did the O2 sensors it was 15-16 MPG in the city and 20-22 on the highway. IMO, that is a big increase in fuel economy. In fact, the fuel economy I get now is consistent with the specs/sticker. I didn't do any tests to see if my O2 sensors were bad, I just knew because of my mileage and the guy who I bought the car from didn't do much to it. These sensors don't last forever! You can test the main sensors while they're still in the exhause pipe. Just unplug the sensor and follow the test in my tutorial. My sensors ended up being bad.
  13. Yep. Russ, take a look at the throttle body cleaning tutorial on my site. I would do that first before going out and replacing expensive parts. It sounds like you just have a low idle and a dirty TB can contribute to that.
  14. If you want to use OEM sensors that's fine, but IMO it's a waste of money. I used universal O2 sensors and replaced all 4 for a little under $150. Why did I do all 4? Mainly for peace of mind, but I was getting poor mileage....after I replaced them I noticed a big increase in fuel economy.. 15. Keep it and see how many miles it will go. It's going to be really hard to sell it with 300k. The good news is that LS's can go forever. Fix what needs fixing, if anything, and save the rest and buy another newer LS.
  16. Just look behind the wheels to see if you have air sus...if there's a spring behind the wheel you don't have it. Another way of telling is just looking by the shifter inside the car. Air suspension models have three rocker switches and there are settings like "sport" or "normal." How much are you willing to spend? What air sus. companies have you looked at? If they have websites please list them. You can easily drop 2-3 grand on a new aftermarket air suspension system....just for the parts. If you have someone install it that may add another 1,000; it's a big job.
  17. I was joking man :P, but you knew that. Seriously though, I just ordered the new JDM Celsior/LS parts catalog, it's being shipped out monday from Japan. I can't wait to see it because it's got EVERYTHING!!!! You want JDM parts?, then this is THE catalog. The only downside is that it's all in Japanese! Good thing I took 6 years of Japanese in school....unfortunately that was long ago...I can still read a few bits though, enough to tell how much something costs ;). If you need an importer I have a link to a guy on my links page. I've never worked with him though so I can't say anything else.
  18. What the other guys have already said is excellent. I just want to add that if you go with an LS, buy the newest model you can afford.
  19. Thanks for the compliments guys :) I am very pleased to say that Lexls.com is now back online! :D
  20. Become friends with a LS guy in Japan or find an importer or go to Japan!
  21. I was thinking you guys wouldn't notice but you did, haha . I almost posted a thread but instead decided to just put a note in my sig. Basically the site is undergoing a major upgrade. It is in the process of being moved onto its own server package instead of being a subdirectory of my business site and a pointed domain. Since I had the domain pointed this affects domain name servers. I had the pointing removed and so now we're just in the waiting period for a refresh.....it's supposed to take between 24 and 48 hours. Soooo Lexls.com should be up soon...by the weekend at the latest. The reason for the upgrade is simple; it's going to improve the site in the long run and allow me to do what I want with it much better. Another major plus is that it will be indexed by the search engines much much easier and that means more visitors. It also means more visitors to LOC due to several links and a growing number of tutorials submitted my LOC members. You guys are going to be happy when it's back. I have finished editing several new tutorials from 92Lex and yesterday I just received one from another guy on a brake caliper rebuild...it's exceptional. It all takes quite a bit of time because I want my tutorials to be as thorough as possible. Hang in there guys ;). If you have any questions just shoot...here of course...my lexls.com email is down too because of this upgrade.
  22. Same thing happened to me. When it started to cool down here the coolant level dropped. Strange thing.
