  1. Eugene is wrong. We don't want you to ask any questions. The way we figure it, it didn't cost you anything to join, so why should we sit up in our "Lazy-Boys" and put in any effort to be helpful ??? LOL.....Your right, I'll starve trying to be a comedian.LOL. Hi Greg and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. Please feel free to post any questions you want, and there is a huge amount of information by searching our data base, which you'll find at the top of the page, on the right hand side. There are several search engines to use. I have best luck with Google. Paul
  2. You know, that is a really good question. The ES 350, 2014 is not a rail job. (Although I've always wanted to drive a dragster). But I can hit 60 in right at 6 sec. But what makes me wonder about more power is this: From a standing start, (stop light), it takes about 0-2 seconds for the engine to get fully awake. From then on it barks at 1st gear and it also barks rubber at 2 nd gear.Just when its hauling A.. moving forward into 3 rd gear the front end starts getting squirley and it fish tails back and forth the lane markers. If I hold on tight to the wheel, l can maintain it OK until it goes into 3rd. from then on it just moves very quickly. If you've never driven driven one, take a spin when your by your dealer or in for service. I know all of you wrenchers are chuckeling right know, but when your old and your !Removed! is about three ax handles wide, you can't fit in what Lexus try's to pass off as a "Seat".
  3. First of all. Unfourtunately I don't read German so I have no idea what the product sheets you sent me are saying. But here is an overview of what you need to do. First of all. What type of music will you be listening to? Is it Rock? Hip-Hop? Jazz? Classical? etc. The type of music you will be listening to will determine the type of sub. and crossover so the lower parts of the music scale are sent to the sub. Go to the Car Audio shop, tell them these things and then listen to the set up you like best. In the size of Lexus your driving,,2 subs is WAYYYY to Much. 1 sub is more than enough for the cabin space. That is unless you want to listen at ear bleeding levels. Yes you want a seperate amplifier to drive the sub. Again, this depends on the sound level and output of the sub. Go to the Auto Audio shop for a demo. Good luck. When your done please let us know how it turned out Paul
  4. I have a " Kicker Sub-Station", that measuer's approx 22" long, with a 8" speaker with a circumfrance , I'm guessing, of 17" inches. I do not run both subs. Any way you slice it, the after market will probly give you better sound. But your going to have to decide that for your self. The thought of using two sub boxes with a 12" in each means that if you ever wanted to put a sack of grocery's in the trunk you'd be out of luck.
  5. Two days ago, 3/20/14, I was in my dealer for my first service on my ES350. In their service drive was an IS-F, a way cool looking car. It belonged to another customer so I could'nt get in it and look around. But when the Service Advisor came around she said have you ever heard one, and I said no. She started that puppy up and every hair on the back of my neck stood straight up. I wanted to take off and pull up to ever kid at a red light and just goose it awhile. Now I know what they mean by "Tuned" exhaust. Awesome Paul
  6. Hi Lasse and welcome. I can swear I answered your question yesterday, but apparently for some reason it didn't get posted for this thread. Sorry. Yes. You can add a or just upgrade your presant sub. The speakers for the ML are 4 ohmn's impedance. The entire network of speakers is match precsiesly by a crossover network. If you add a sub without matching the network you'll have junk for sound. Most installations for this sub replacement runs the power from the front back to the trunk where a seperate amplfier is placed just for the sub. Come back and let us know how things are going and how it works out. Paul
  7. Hi Ajay and welcome to the Club. As you can see, we are a group of Lexus enthusiast you enjoy helping one another. Their are a couple of things that come into play with your situation. The first thing is I would be on the side of the road with your wife screaming!! It sounds like an incredible experiance. Next, if my counting ir correct, your RX350 now has 7 - 8 yers on it. Also, your Lexus dealer Roadside Assitance would have expired at the end of the first full year your RX was put in service under your name. So here is the conumdrum. The Lexus new car warranty runs for 4 years or 40,000 miles. Which ever comes first. Having never been in your situation, I don't know what I woulld expect. However, you've had the first 4 years of you owner ship covered for free, and your additional 4 years with out apparent trouble until now. Given all this, if this is not a national recall , how long should Toyota extend full coverage of service? In terms of the Roadside Assistance, dealers that I have known offer complete assitance for the first year of ownership. There after, the customer can continue the coverage by paying for it, or get it as you have from someone else. These of course are just my thoughts. Paul
  8. On Tuesday, March 18, 2018, Toyota came clean and put out a press release admiting their blame in what became a massive recall of both Toyota and some Lexus model cars. The recall was for the malfunction of accelserator related problems. Paul Did anyone have their Lexus involed? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/03/19/toyota-fine-misleading-public_n_4992609.html
  9. Hi Judy and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. Sounds like you've got a keeper! I think I understand what your wieghing your decision about, and every owners goes through this process at some point along the line. The question isn't really is the car worth putting $1,700 dollars into it, the question is is the car worth the $1,700 to YOU to put it into the car. In other words do you want to keep the car bad enough to put that money in to keepit running like new. Once you answer that, if you have said yes, get competive bids. Call a Lexus dealer and tell them you want a price for doing this and that. You should probably get a second opinion on what work it needs. Always ask your friends or others for reccomendations on who would they trust to work on their car. Try a Toyota dealer. They may be able to help you at a lower cosst. Let us know how things are going. Paul
  10. I think anything is worth trying short of having to replace the head unit. Here is a link to a audio/auto repair company in New York. They are one of the very few places set up to work on ML systems. I would strongly suggest you call them and discuss your trouble. Many of our members have used them with very goog luck. http://unitedradio.com/automotive/
  11. Hi Willy and welcome to the LOC. It sounds like your problem is in the CD player it self. If everything else works and the stutter in the music is coming from the CD player, I think it's pretty safe to say it's the CD player. You may have to have the entire head unit replaced. That means the unit which includes the radio, CD player, Sat. reciever, etc. This can be exspensive. if you replace what you have with a new Lexus unit. I would choose the Lexus route because I would want the car interior to look like OEM. The next alternative would be to put in a aftermarket head unit for hopefully less money without sacrificing sound quality. BUT, here's where your going to have a replacement problem. The Mark Levenson system , which means head unit, amplifier, speakers, sub woofer and crossover network, would have to be specifically balanced with all of those components. The entire speaker network and ampifier output is balanced by a net work of crossovers and filters. Talk to your local Lexus dealer for some prices, then ask around for suggestions of Car Audio Stores and install shops. Since I don't know what your level of expertise is in car audio, I'm attaching a link with an overview of componets and what they do http://www.carstereo.com/help/. Come back and let us know what you find out so all of us can learn. Paul
  12. Cool idea Graig.....thanks for sharing the tip. Paul
  13. Hi Ronnie and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. If I understand your problem correctly, the speakers on the right side of the cabin, both front and back(?), are putting out very low volume. This was the case before you put in the new Radio/Head unit, and it is still putting out only low volume. Did you also replace the amplifier or at least have it tested? I don't have a great deal of knowledge about a 92' system, but as with all sound systems, there are only a usual number of main components to start working from. First. Did you or someone check through the system to know enough to pinpoint that replacing the head unit was the problem? Its obvious that is not the case. I would suggest you try two things before you spend any more money. In later models there are at least 3 fuses for the audio system. I don't know how the 92' system is powered but I'm sure you have already checked the fuses. The amplifier may have 2 power lines going into it from the fuse panel. One side of the amp maybe going out. Have you taken the door panels off to check the speakers and cross-overs for both front and back? I don't know how the speakers are hooked up to the Head Unit and from the front door to the back door. Is your system a Pioneer or a Nakimichi. Other members may come on here and have some more suggestions. These 2 links will give a lot of information about auto sound systems and may help you track down some more possibilities. http://www.carstereo.com/help/ http://www.carstereohelp.com/stereoremovalLexusES300AmpR.htm Paul
  14. Hi again Chris, Attached is a complete exploded diagram of the console in your model. This came from Sewell Lexus/parts. Hopefully, this will guide you in what ever direction you take. Come back and let us know how things are going. Paul http://lexus.sewellparts.com/oem-catalog/5806582532-Body-RX400h-2007.html
  15. Hey Seane, and welcome to the LOC. Thats an interesting problem. You say that according to the service records the car has had the engine swaped out once before. Does this mean that this is a pre-owned Lexus, but you just got it? If in fact that is the case, did the car do this when the former owner had it? If the Odometer just started acting up, what was the thing you noticed that suddenly made you aware? These are a lot of questions I know, but on any given day, most people can't even tell you where the ODO is, let alone know if it's under or over. What I'm trying to figure out at first, is at what point did the problem start, about when it started, nor I thiink it was when. ......No On what precise DAY did it start. I know this is asking a lot, but by knowing that we can know what events were going on, was it in your hands or the former owner, were larger wheels put on the car when they swaped engines. Please write back. Also, hopefuly others who actually know something will chime in. Paul
  16. Hi Roger and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club! I think you bring good news for a lot of buyers and members. As for my self, looking back over the styling features Lexus chose over say, the last 8 years, inovation, trendy, cutting edge, sporty, are adjectives that don't jump to the tip of your tounge....lol But, when my wife and I purchased our ES350 and RX350, both 2013's last year, I really liked the grill because it was aggresive, contemporary and bold styling. Obviously, I was in the minority. As time has gone on, it seems that more of our members have come to like that aggresive look, and Lexus has made a winner. Thanks for the input Roger and keep it coming. Paul
  17. Hi Jonathon and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. I see Becki greeted you as well. You should feel special because it's not often that she and her kin folk come out of the hills from making moonshine.... LOL. I don't really have a cast iron answer for your trouble. I wonder if there may be a problem with the programing of your master key. I say that because it appears that part of the programing works in correct sequence, but not the other. As I said in the beginnig, I really have no way of telling if this is the problem. If it was me, I would start with the simplest and cheapest posibility which is changing the batterie'(s). Do you know when last they were changed. Low or spent batteries, can cause and do some wierd things. Please come back and let us know how things are going. That way we can all learn.
  18. This may be of no new news to others, but it's new time line is to me! The photos look pretty cool to me, but like the new 2013 introductions, the styling of the grill and side molding folds may take some getting used to. Since this is going to be positioned below the RX, I'll be interested to see what the starting price point will be and what features you get for that. Anyone have any more info. about the NX?? http://www.autoblog.com/2014/03/06/lexus-nx-production-crossover-beijing-official/
  19. Island ??? Did someone say Island ? Are we talking palm trees, white sand beaches type of island ??? Living on and island allways sounds so exotic and layed back. But looking at your header I'm guessing your island is more likely to be in the Canadian North some where. Come back and tell us about island living. Thank you as well for the kind words. Your correct in noticing that traffic on the site has slowed down since early last year. That is one of the major reasons for the Poll / Survey we put out during early Feburary. If your going to have a succesful business, you have to give your Members/ Customers what they want, not what you(staff) think they want. Out of the survey data, we are looking forward to adding some newer features members say they want, and phasing out some that no one seems to care about based on frequncey of postings. One thing that also came through the Poll/Survey results, is that over approx. 75% of your/our members think their LOC is a great place to hang out, find answers to problems, search for Lexus applications, get advice on bargining for a better price, and a place to make new friends. In the coming months, the staff will introduce some new ideas, which with your feedback will stay or go. I have heard more than once that traffic on many of the item specific or enthuist web sites have all had down turns. Its just a guess but it may be that some of that slowed/lost postings has gone over to Face Book or someother social forum. What are your thoughts guys and gals?
  20. Hi Paul, Thanks for your correspondence. Sorry to hear about the console, but the customer should be able to replace part PNC 58801E if we’re talking about the large storage part of the console. It is the center box in the diagram. If this isn’t the proper part of the console, please advise… http://lexus.sewellparts.com/oem-catalog/5806582532-Body-RX400h-2007.html Thanks! Sewell Parts Team Dallas, TX 75209 sewellparts.com lexusparts@sewell.com Find us on Facebook | Twitter | YouTube Overstock and Closeouts Sewell.com Hi Chris. I wasn't able to come up with an immediate answer for you problem so I went on line to one of our approved vendors. Sewell Lexus is a large dealer in Texas that has a large parts on-line business. They have replied with the information you shoud need to at least give you some direction. Paul
  21. Just by chance I ran across this article today, and what I read I could not believe my eyes! The electric car company Tesla, has been banned from selling their Tesla cars direcly to the customer in New Jersey. They must continue selling their car only to dealers and then the dealer will continue selling the Tesla cars to the public. This is the third state to pull this off. Last time I watched Judge Judy, this looked a lot like "Restraint of Trade." Now the author of the article says he feels this shot at free enterprise will not last as more people put on more pressure for a free matket. Whats your opinion? http://techcrunch.com/2014/03/11/new-jersey-becomes-third-state-to-ban-teslas-direct-sales-model/?icid=maing-grid7%7Chtmlws-main-bb%7Cdl15%7Csec1_lnk3%26pLid%3D452911
  22. Thanks Steve. Good to now. As you know, every once and awhile someone doesn't like the information their receiving and insist the site is a mouth piece for Lexus. I realize you are extremely overwhemled. Is there a time of day that is best for getting in touch with you? Iowa, begining today, is on Daylight Savings Central Time.
  23. Your showing your age.....!!! How many college kids know what "Postal" means?
  24. Hi ubaid221 and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. Based on your some of your nouns I'm guessing the U.K.? Glad your here.Your LS has given you some great service for all those miles. Time for some things to wear out. At first glance I'm guessing you may have a short some where. The sensor / switch on the break pedal may be remaining in contact when you take your foot off the pedal and those contacts / sensors remain in contact. Additionally the trunk / boot may also have a short.. They could be conected in that the wiring that runs from the front of the car may also be wraped together with the wiring going into the trunk. In some models and years the wiring bundle to the trunk was run through the two hinges of the trunk / boot lid. The wire developed some shorts from wear, but was easely fixed once you tracked down the right wire.
