  1. When you pay $40 grand or more for a car, you should complain to your dealer about anything that interupts your enjoyment of that car. Your trouble could be something as simple as weather stripping or a little more complicated. Regardless, it doesn't cost a dime to drive it in and ask the question. PJ
  2. Remote start is a common after market add-on. You may lock the car before you start your 350, or even after your 350 is running. However it depends on the remote stater you install. Not all remote starters are created equal. The brand of starter controler my dealer uses is "Python". A reputable after market store in town uses the "Viper" . Both work well on Lexus. As for the cost, My dealer charged me $795. complete which compared to other bids I felt was resonable. Does this help?? PJ
  3. congrats on the purchase I also have Ultra-luxury package in Tungsten Pearl please do me a favor and check to see if the seats are getting heated up nicely and would appreciate if you let me know my seats do not get heated up - they are just warm at the maximum - my dealer informs me that is the max it can go Thanks. Absolutely, I will let you know. My seats got nice and toasty in my Acura TL and wife's MDX, so hope the ES would be the same. Welcome, I am usually on the other board, but thought I would comment on your question regarding the heated seats. This appears to be an ongoing problem with Lexus. I have an ES330, 2005- with heated & cooled seats. The seats do not get very warm, nor do they get at all cool. I have had it to the dealer twice and they were able to improve the heat feature somewhat, but not the cool. They explained that the seat cooling function was reconfigured in the 2006 ES, and in the ES350's I have driven I would say that is somewhat true. Compared to my other car with heated and cooled seats, the Lexus does not compete in the feature. But I still love my Lexus!! (Black Garnet; Cashmere interior- chrome 7 spoke Lexus rims; 42,000 miles) PJ
  4. This is the basic wild a__ guess based on purely non scienentific knowledge. At one time I owned a Buick, which as a part of it's emmision controls maintained a vacumn on the neck of the gas tank filler pipe. When the gas cap was removed, there was a "wosh" sound relieving the pressure diffrence. If the cap was not replaced tightly it would produce a small noise such as a whistle as it tried to reestablish the vacumn to retain the gasoline vapors. However, the "Check Engine Light" would also appear telling you to reseal the gas cap. I have not encountered such a vacumn sound on my Lexus so do not know if this could be the case or not. Hence the disclaimer! PJ

  6. Hi, I have an 05' ES330, and if the owners manual is correct, your going to have to have a standard master key with the built in transponder in order to link up with the ignition/security module. This is the only way the car will start. Even though you told me not to, you will have to contact a dealer to have one made using your key code. Hope this helps PJ
