  1. get a compression test an a leak down test it will pin point your problem
  2. vmf that strange noise is the rust on the rotors from moisture nothing out of the norm it is just scrapping the junk off the rotor after being wet now to the constant new noise the noise will be there if there is no squel shims are reinstalled basically they are a thin metal plate that goes in bettween the calpier and the brake pad it keeps the brake pad straight if they took them off and never reinstalled tehm then that is the reason for the squealling it would take a few hard stops to start glazing a pad a nd rotor to get a squeal just look at the wheel and se if you can se the caliper when looking at it there should be a little peice of metal preventing you from directly seeing the brake pad which are usually coloured or some sort if you see the metal shim then it is ok as there are usually 2 small gaps on the outside to look at the pad from outside of the wheel
  3. nothing wrong with replacing emblems on a car that is also sold as a lexus but a corolla? it is the low end of toyota kind of a stretch for a car that doesn't have leather as an option to pretend it is a luxury car or a/c as standard to me ,it is almost as dumb as putting nismo( nissans in house performance group, like trd is for toyota) stickers on a lexus just because they have the same parent companydoesn't make them twins and besides chris do you remember how you laughed at that guy for having GS script on an LS kind of the same thing but atleast there's was also sold as a lexus elsewhere
  4. yah it leaves holes if you don't replace with gold ones or original that is why i had the body shop fill in my holes on the trunk lid and hood
  5. no problem there are pins as wel as the 3m tape the pins also have little locking pins that are held into the metal of the trunk try not to break them or push them in the shet metal as to get lost in there
  6. that is the easiest way i just don't want to get into liability of shorting pins and something screws up in the ecu there is a ecu list in the general maintainace section that lists all the obd2 codes
  7. you normally do not need or shouldn't add the brake squeal to the shims as that is what they are for depending on the noise it may be the new brakes are not being seated properly first for long enough when new causeing th brake pads to glaze making a noise when lightly applied but it disappears when pressed hard
  8. there is asome idiot in toronto who has a new black corrolla S he replaced all the toyta symbols with lexus "L" 's a real moron
  9. and no it wont cause problems by posting a link it is for a useful purpose which is for you to find out if you would be getting burned which you would so all in all we jsut helped another member no worries but if you were selling it then it is :chairshot:
  10. well the guy who said he knows is !Removed! is full of !Removed! i talkd to the old school toyota guys and they have all mentioned the cars he said he worked on no one else has ever seen any of them or a pic atleast so he is full of it and so called been working on it for years so this dud is a waste of time
  11. sorry bbsal there are pins in every one of the emblems and there is an indent for the es 300 on the light also it is a real pain to get out without breaking the lens as i have removed all of mine on my 94 already
  12. just wondering as it is kinda of redundant in all the other sections the word lexus or ES Lexus ES300 / ES330 Forums to Lexus ES 300/330 and Lexus SC300 / Lexus SC400 / Lexus SC430 Forums to Lexus SC 300/400/430 just a thought as the new posts page gets a little overwhelming in the middle i sounds like an old granny complaining ? don't i ? just an idea :chairshot:
  13. eye glass cleaner is best in my opinion for cleaning lcd screens and use a micro fibre material preferable one they use to wipe glases as well as tehy are lint free i uses orange glo or pledge on my wood but if it is real dirty or scratched tehn i use orewax cleaner that i uses on the paint to strip off the dirt
  14. the mast is around 30-40 most all toyotasfrom the 90's use the same power one
  15. basically you need a schematic wiring guide to find where all the cuircits that have a problem connect together and repair the wiring basically the wire for the changer is damged and when you apply the brake or lights it steals power from the other cuicits to complete is own i would be tracing the rear harness for the headlights and brakes you may have pulled a wre loose
  16. sounds liek a tranny problem wit them both sorry i know you would have rather heard i plug or wire to fix get the fluid flushed asap and it might help
  17. if it clicks once it is the battery or the starter if it dose it mulitple times it is more than likely a power problem either there is some kind of drain on the battery when parked ( like a light ) or the battery is history
  18. the guys name is ben from my local toyota group he knows his !Removed! but it is not ready yet
  19. i might say it is the torque convertor having a hard time to disengage also how long are your 80 mph drives before stopping ?
  20. it didn't work you just made the computer forget to look for a problem that is reoccuring that is probably intermittent so if and when the part breaks you know will not be able to pin point it ahead of time you did your self no favour by taking the light off next time get it checked
  21. i would say it is more to do with the fan then as the highway driving raises the temp to about 12000 degrees for exhaust gases hile driving is about 8000 so once you get off and there is no more air flow the car will over heat if the fan is not working properly you should check the actuator for the fan speed
  22. the cel comes on for a specific reason it should be registering a code go to a local pep boys or parts seller to get the code read then you will know for sure if he is just fluff
  23. any vvti engines are interferance
  24. i am guessing the points for trunk space is because of the stupid high overpass to get into it rather than a normal thigh level one and the ski boot how the hell can i get any good bas through that small hole and your welcome h8r proof
  25. also might be the impeller inside the pump going meanign that it is not moving enough fliud around if it was at cold and hot then i would say the pressure solenoid ont the rack is gone which is not telling the pump to send more pressure
