  1. Replaced the headunit kept the stock speakers... NIGHT and day! It's louder, cleaner, clearer, and brighter. Bass response is more tight and more controlled. Stock head unit is JUNK IMHO. It was probably great in 1995 when our car was made, today though... And the replacement stereo was an inexpensive Clarion (simple to use).
  2. Pulled the door panels off and wired in an Altec Lansing componet crossover, works perfectly.
  3. Ok figured out the speaker outputs for the car are coming out of the amp and are not confusing as say an MB... So are the little speakers on the dash THAT important? Or are they wired in line with the tweeters on the doors? Using the 12v pop method I was able to find all the speakers but didn't hear the tweaters pop for me... Which makes me think there wired to the dash units. Anyone?
  4. Cool. Thanks guys. No Angel Eye's though... She's not into that trick kinda stuff. Just want to freshen it up a bit and give it a more euro look.
  5. Seen 3, 1 is ours, with rust on the trailing edge of the hood. I beleive this has something to do with wipers and ice buildup in winter.
  6. Also, can I use a heat gun instead of an oven? Just curious.
  7. I'm gonna do my wifes lexus up for her birthday here in a couple weeks. Just ordered the rims and tires today and got the stereo in earlier this week. Question is, I'm seeing everyone's shots here and there of thier lights and the chrome inside is REALLY shiny... Is it supposed to be? Her's is DULL, very DULL. Also I gotta polish up the headlight lenses, used to use Chrome Polish and it worked pretty good but left some yellow on there. Anyone used something different that worked really well? Comparing her lights to my XL-7's are night and day. Also on the rear tails, do I need to heat them up as well to get the amber insert out? Car is 95 ES300. TIA.
  8. I'm very comfortable working on vehicles like this. I used to do it for a living (MECP certified). If I can make a computer work in a car as an MP3/DVD/VCD/MPG player then this should be a cake walk. But I'm getting old and bought the wiring kit. Was hoping this will help make it easier.
  9. I got a remote starter for my wifes ES300 and the 92-97 Camry kit (hoping it works). Can anyone tell me if it will or how to wire this thing up? She has the OEM alarm system. TIA
