  1. Does it do it with all the doorsor just some of them .Usually it is the door pins itself behinf the rubber boot that needs a good shot of wd 40 to loosen them up.

  3. i would call the other dealer and request your money back if they charged you then follow up with lexus head office.

  6. Air pockets usually create hot spots not cool ones as it cause lower internal pressures. So i wouldn;t think it would be air. Does the engine feel hot ? Do the rad pipes feel hot as in can you touch them after running the car for an hour or are they warm enough to handle holding them. Is the climate control in auto or are you manually selecting fan speed and temp? Is the fan on the rad spinning at full speed? If the car is running and the heat quits but the engine is still hot it is either the rad fan is stuck on or the control valve on the firewall has closed keeping the hot coolant from going into the evap core to be blown by the fan to heat the interior. I doubt it is the valve as the temp needle dropped as well. So it might be the thermostat. How long does it take to heat up from a cold start?
  7. It is easy to add hids to any car. But if the lenses are not clear or projector then they will look nice but not have the full impact of hid as tehy have a scattered lens in front to distrubute the light . It does not work well for that type. But does look brighter and is easier to see at night just kind of blinding for other drivers.
  8. toyota doesn;t make oil they just relabel it. They also wouldn;t put it in a fresh engine as you are not supposed to put synthetic in a new engine for the brake in period either. I would suspect toyota uses valvoline oil relabeled as they use and recommend there tranny fluid also.

  10. I have a panel for a 97 and up ES cheaper than paying $300 for a custom peice of wood and leather.No holder underneath though.
  11. sounds liek the the torque convertor is staying locked up. Might be the solenoid for it. How is the tranny fliud have you changed it recently?

How much is lexus asking for the clips?It shouldn't be more than $3 a peice if that? you do need them other wise the pads will sit of angle and start to squeal.It only keeps the pads held into the caliper on the outer side of the rotor not the inside as it has a v clip on the back of the pad to hold into the pot of the calipers.
  13. The noise you hear is common to all toyotas .It is the brake pads on the outside ( as the innner ones have a spring clip to hold in place) moving back and forth on the caliper mount. Sometime the little clips on them have a slight bit of play or are missing ( unlikely) nothing to worry about. I fhte clip is missing you would hear a realy awful squeal all the time as the pad would not be sitting straight.
  14. The purple was probably black permenant marker that faded to purple like most blcak markers.
  15. no problem a dealer will tell you about $500 to replace a rim and the list price of the tire at the dealer . So a complete replacement for them at the dealer would be about $3000 well more than they are worth. Some where around $1000 - $1500 would work but the tires that high of a profile would not fit many cars.
  16. I don't like black magic products much i prefer to use meguires endurance tire finish instead. The sunroof is an exit .so you also have to seal where the excess air is coming in as well. Meaning treating all the door jams weathersripping in the doors hood trunk and roof with the endurance or silicone spray .Pep boys or a napa should have both.

  18. 1 of 2 things either the camber is off from hitting somehting and the tires need to be realigned. Or the assist valve is getting stuck and needs to be cleaned on the side of the power steering pump.Try disconnecting the harness to the pump .It will work still but i can't remember if the cuicit is normally open of closed for boost.
  19. It shouldn;t eb a large jerk in power as there is an idle up cuircit for the engine to meet the demand on the a/c. How good does your a/c system work . Maybe it is low on regrigerant and use alot less power trying to cmopress it.
  20. always leave the o.d on all the time as it is better for fuel and shifting. The ect button is useless as it only changes the shift points for a wider powerband but usues more gas .If you wan tthe same power just press the gas all the way for the same shifting.

  22. how much are you looking to get you might want to list the size of the tires also as other non rx members might be interested.
  23. If the a/c light isn;t flashing then the compressor isn;t locking up to cause it to stall.Besides it just releases the clutch when it is over boosting the refrigerant. It is more liekly to do with the wiring for the idle up cuircit on the compressor. I think there is a wire damaged causing the idle to increase for the load like the alternaotr also does. Try putting all the electronics on full power and see if it also stalls .If it does tehn it is to due with the throttle body which needs cleaning at the least .If not tehn the idle up cuircit works and it is more liekly a wire prob.
