  1. Wow this is your first post and a very good one. it deserves to b in the workshop tutorials.I'll move it over
  2. It is not weird ,first the 97-01 don't have projectors which makes the light less usable in a focused beam for a sharp cut off. Second you have to adjust to hid's as it is such a sharper cut off than halogen ,anywhere which is not directly illumitnaed will look darker to almost black as your eyes can;t adjust to that much difference in light.
  3. There are people who deal with them but it will cost a whole lot more since more of it is all custom fabrication.
  4. what car? what year? where did you get the parts? from what car and year? do you get my drift you are asking a pretty specific question with hardly any info. who told you it would work anyway?
  5. It is common for all toyotas for some reason to have egr's that get fouled up over time. It depends on if it is staying open or closed. mine has a problem staying open which i don;t mind since it lowers my emmisions and increases my gas mileage but does lower the performance slightly.
  6. Sounds liek that black supposed to be white car is a stolen revinned one. return it and get your money back ,then contact the poilce
  7. put it back to what it is supposed to be and maek sure they write it on the bill in case you have problms later
  8. well we all know what bad lexus is about, he is funny in an old man scratching himself in public way. This is probably the only peice of good he has put on the board. It isn't the best news but will let owners know there might be a problem to get fixed for free.
  9. Its a simple equation if you have not tried it you have nothing to base your non experiance with. I think the kits are junk as they clout adding more grounds which is a whole other ball of wax. It comes down to making the ground wires new again. It isn't gained horsepower it is renewed. Basically all copper gets old and breaks down. Change the wires and the ends and it will make a difference. If you haven't done it on an OD2 car tehn you have no experiance with the product and are just bashing it because you failed to think. A car is an electrical animal any time a voltage changes it changes the readings over all of the sensors and tehre ability to adjust and function normally. If the wires get old as they all do it will affect the way the ecu ( brain ) thinks . This is not a performance upgrade it is general maintance, i think that is where you guys have the hang ups with it. If your valve cover leaked you would fix it right? well the main wires get stressed the most and occasionally do need changing also. nothing else but a simple procedure and cost. btw it is pretty useless on a new car. no one ever said it was. and any older pre obd car will make less difference as it has less electronics to support. The harness is sheathed fully the battery terminals and its ends are not and are still subjected to large amounts of stress form the engine moving and heat as well as the large amounts of voltage used to supply there ends.
  10. Before you adjust the shims do the engine flush a couple of times to get any sludge out. Then run synthetic for a month before condeming the valves. It is usually just sticking lifters not the actual shim needed if it is really loud.
  11. Hey where the hell are the driving instructions from Canada? kidding I might make it down if i domy tranny first.
  12. 30 minutes is way more than engough with a hot engine not weeks. If your hose blew you might have another one getting ready to also. More than likely it is the head but without a pressure test to trace the leak you will never really know. Check for coolant in the oil .
  13. Coach never came to Canada nor do any dealers even know what it is,big suprise. If the light was always on then i would say it might be disconnected if not you may have a loose wire. Have you registered you vehicle with lexus head office yet? They can give you exacts on your warrenty.
  14. the audio video section has the instructions
  15. Imagine we knew what car it was?
  16. I have MC Intosh audio equipment all around. It is hands down the best but also not the cheapset or easiest to find in Toronto as there are only 2 dealers in the GTA. MTX is garbage the other stuff mentioned is ok i would leave the front speakers alone unless you are going to change all the speakers and add a new amp just for them as the stock one will be crap with aftermarket speakers. Just buy a sub with a box and an amp. Best way to go. The JL's are nice speakers so are tehre amps but the amps aren't the best. Got to Kennedy hi fi (KHF)in scarborough they do amazing work where you can leave your car and never worry about them breaking something.
  17. don't sell the manuals until you sell the car. If the relay fried then it may have fried other components you will have to check to see if it is being sent the right turn on for the fan and that the wires haven't shorted somewhere.
  18. It is an emmisions device to retain unburnt petroleum gas ,since it is illegal to have a tank open to the enviorment. In order to burn a canister out you would have to fill the tank up all the way and keep going over 10 times atleast to get enough actual liquid gas through the purge lines to the front of the carwhere the canister is. then you would have to park the car and leave it for a while so the liuid would then wash the charcoal. But who ever fills up then parks there car within 1 minute? It is fine to slightly top of the tank ,i do it all the time to round out my $. Check for a warranty coverage on it as it is an emmision related product.
  19. NOt sure what i did to help ,but glad it did . If you are looking for a small shallow catch pan ,go to a place that sells baking products like liek foil trays for the bottom of an oven and use that cookie sheet /tray to hold the litter. For about $1
  20. the tutorial section is for a tutorial alreayd done.not one you want so someone will explain it to you. i will move this question to the rx section.
  21. If you saw the grease there ,why didn't you check it for a crack? More than likely it is the boot is cracked
  22. I got a wallet key made as a master rather than the normal way which is only the valet key with no head.
  23. oil sludge in all 2nd generation 1mz-fe engines 97-01 es 300 rx 300 avalon camry i can't remember if anything else had the engine talk to lexus head office and see if they will cover more than half.
  24. the welds came apart and JIC wouldn't replace it, they said it was due to aggresive driving. Come on. Have you looked closely at a set of jic suspension first hand? it would take a hell of alot to break there welds as they are done perfectly compared to other companies. JIC are made for agressive driving but too much of anything will break something. Unless you are the person with the suspension third hand information is always hear say.
