  2. $140 shipped, within CONUS. Ships from Austin, TX. One year old Vais VML unit. I assume if you are looking at this you know the product. http://www.vaistech.com The following is the application chart showing what vehicles it works in. http://www.vaistech.com/manuals/iVIC%20App%20Guide.pdf Works perfectly. Just bought the MML unit since my wife upgraded to the iPhone 5s. All cables and manual that came with it are included.
  3. Thanks, Jainla, looks like you are very active on this forum. All I am actually tring to determine, is how th remove the plastic, decorative trim around the NAV screen to get access to the back of the radio to install the VAIS iPod unit. I did peruse your posts, but didn't see any pictures or explanations on how to do that.
  4. I need to get to the back of my Levinson radio and NAV screen. I have searched for past posts, but cannot find any on where the clips are that secure the plastic trim around these units.
  5. We are officially putting our LX470 on the market next week. We just had the 60,000 mile major service our our local Lexus Dealer. Brand new front and rear brakes...plus I will be hand detailing the car this Saturday with some of the best products on the market. We purchased the vehicle 3 years ago as a "Certified Lexus " from our local dealer and we have only put 20,000 miles on it in 3 years. Car has been serviced by our local Lexus dealer and has only required oil changes prior to the 60,000 servicing. Our LX has been babied since day 1. I'm a bit of a clean freak and I have detailed the car 2x/year inside and out for the past 3 years. I will post some pics after it has been detailed. It's hard to beleive this is a 1999. I'll let the pictures be the proof of that. It is in exceptional condition. How much and what color is it?
  6. I will send some pictures Monday as I am out of town. There has not been a major model change since 1998, or so.
  7. $19, 300. I can send pictures, too, if they would like to see it. I can asure them there are few LX's in the condition of this vehicle.
  8. I have a 1999 LX470 for sale in Texas. Black with cashmere interior, 87,000 miles, incredible condition. Let me now if anyone is interested in more details and/ or pictures.
  9. I bought this vehicel as Lexus certified. The day I picked it up at the delaer I commented that it idles rough. They said it is normal. I took the vehicle to another Lexus dealer who advised me the throttle body needed cleaning, which was not warranted, and I agreed to have done. No change in the idling. 15,000 miles later I took it back to the same dealer, complaining again. Without looking up my record, they said the throttle body needs cleaning. I declined and they knew nothing else to do. I have owned 7 Lexus, 3 LS-400's. I still have a 1999 LS. ALL these vehicle idle smoothly. Is this an inherent problem with the LX? Any suggestion to fix it? It is still under Lexus warranty.
  10. It somewhat depends on the cost. I would pay $1000-$1200 for a 2 year warranty on an 11 year old car. I can almost assure you something will go wrong. The gauges going black in cold weather will cost $400-$500 (an inherent problem in Gen II models.) Do your due dilligence on the warranty company. If it is real, take advantage of it.
  11. Try Bearden Automotive in Austin. He is an ex-Lexus mechanic and knows the cars. They are located just south of McNeil on Technology BV. Always been reasonable for me.
  12. Have you replaced the A/C filter located behind the glove box? If not, this most likely is your source of odor. I would spray a cleaner with bleach inside the cavity after you remove the old filters and before you install the new ones.
  13. Since the 1998 LS is a VVT engine, will timing belt failure cause engine problems? My 1998 has 94,000 miles, nearing the point Lexus suggests changing the belt. I don't relish spending some $900, but it it is better than $$$'s later if the belt breaks.
  14. I had the same leaks. High pressure hose is $350 plus instalation. This, with the other hose repairs cost $900...not good for a "tight budget". Problem is, it will destroy the alternator in time.
