  1. You do have an egr ,where i am not sure. it should be beside the throttle body 2 round little cans one is attached with a rusty looking metal pipe.
  2. Call lexus head office and get the roadside service if they can send you an emergency key with next day delivery .It is well worth it. Other wise go to the dealer and get a spare wallet key that is not made to be a valet but a full function key. for about under $20
  3. for $150 they weren't true coilovers they were a sleeve. Teins actually are much more harshriding than jic and have more returns or problems as i have only seen one set of blown shocks from jic but it was on a track car. Teins i have seen a few more than that returned. jic ride much smoother and more like a lexus(JIC) rather than a honda(tein)
  4. Either debris bettween the spring and the bushing on on the bushing causeing the spring not to sit right
  5. what year is the car? it means you need to change the sensor by the firewall
  6. Why are you so upset at the dealer. You should be upset at yourself. Why didn't you ask to see the leak so you could judge for yourself? None of us can see the car ,you had the oppertunity to and didn't.
  7. That whole plastic panel nees to be replaced and the door panel has to come off.
  8. either the alternator is getting leaked on and it only fails when wet? or you have a monkey who wired up your system.
  9. I haven;t been in any lexus with a level 10 kit but a few other cars including a camry 3 definatly is harsh the 2 sounds pretty good if it is a basic upgrade compare the spring rates in the kit to see the pressure differences for shifting. If your shifts that crappy then you just might need it rebuilt anyway.
  10. there is a huge thread with lots of detailed info of things tried and how long ,please use that post rather than making lots of other small ones which make it hard for other members to follow changes in the development of fixes. I made it really easy to find ,it is pinned to the top of the ES section.
  11. I am sure i posted this a few times in a few places but a check engine light is meaningless unless you get a code to ask the other members. It has a few thousand possibilities. It could be nothing or mean your going to loose the engine. Unless it is read there is nothing anyone can tell you that is going to be concreate besides drive it or don;t drive it.
  12. Is it oem struts or aftermarket? that make all the difference in the price. To get tot the rear struts you only need to remove the rear seats which is very easy less than 3 minutes and 2 bolts. 2-3 hours max to chaneg all 4 on a hoist with air tools. New struts about 400 and springs 400 max $80 shop rate for labour X2 160-200 = 1000 maximum
  13. You muight have an aftermarle starter in there that a dealer put in. It is just interfaced to the oem remotes. My cousin has that on his maxima
  14. As mentioned Kuhmo's are the biggest peice of !Removed! i have ever ownerd driven or had to deal with out of 3 sets bought at three different times all of them went bad from 2 different cars? They don;t stand behind there product as they even know it is !Removed!. Don;t waste your money unless you like a dangerous tire. I had 5 sidewall buldges in one tire alone. Speed rating is just the belts don;t bother buying a tire to match that .You will not loose any ride smoothness buy buying a performance tire or a all season one as you are still in a 15 inch bracket so the sidewall can never get stiff enough to make the ride harsh unless it is a run flat but even still.
  15. MIGHT have been mentioned? look at the top of the page right before you pressed the new topic button it has all the problems like LCD. read that post
  16. Level 10 is great for a performance shift but you will lose all lexus smoothness .
  17. serengetti's are amazing for driving but versace's are cooler.
  18. Normal condensation or moisture induced rust.Nothing to worry about. It doesn't need to rain to get small amounts of moisture to rust tehm up a bit.
  19. No lexus comes with remote start. It is only an added on feature by the owners. The only car in the world to offer a remote start by the manufacutrer that i know of is the new chevy malibu maxx.
  20. If the ownership has changed but the name is still the same you might have a chance in small claims court but you will need receipts or some kind of paper trail. See if you can get a tech to say tehy worked on the car on tape and the ways thye tried to resolve it to prove it was worked on.
  21. Thwe plunger activates the starter. It is under the intake manifold. Not for the faint of heart to remove.
  22. For my 94 it only needs to have a new one orderred i think i paid 120 -160 a side ,it was years a go i did it. You basically start at one end and pull it away from the car it will release the plastic plugs and then the rest of the rubber is held in a metal bracket just keep pulling it out. More clips on the back of the A ,B and C pillars just look at the new one to see where they are . It is just the reverse to install. Just feed the tounge and groove rubber back in ,all done in an hour for the first side and 3-5 minutes for the second when you realize how easy it really is.
  23. Here is a thought bandit. This post is since january. Maybe the owner figured out they are TT brakes and updated the signiture in the 2 months since your post.
  24. If you don;t want to loose the lexus ride then you can change the rim to a different style. You are not going to be able to upgrade without adegradation in softness. It is a direct ratio where you have to give and take.It is not going to make you have a headache ,but unless you drive one with 18's then you will never know what anyones elses expericance is. Go with a 17 for alittle less of each.
