  3. you got hosed if you changed an egr to stop a car from stalling The problem is common for all 97-01 toyota v6's the iacv (idle air control valve) is dirty clean it or replace it and the car will run fine as it is clogged causing the car to shut off when it is running irch at startup by not allowing enough air into the engine so it stifles and dies.

  7. it should concern you i wouldnt have purchased the car without further investigating "then" Get a compression test to see if the car had been run for a bit without oil causing excessive wear try and find out why it had no oil, was it they did an oil change or they just got it and it was like that before they got it? I guess the oil light wasn;t on? get it checked for gelling while your at it.

The ballast is the large water siphon remover and muffler chamber made of black plastic having any filter in the engine bay is bad news no one belives me but until they start gettign CEL's and i tell them to put back the intake then they realize how much power they lost even though no more powerful sound.
  13. get a motorvac before replacing an o2 sensor as 90% of the time they just need a goodcleaning which is much cheaper
  14. try your local deal service person they usually have a stack of old keys they can scavange
  15. It is useless as it is not a cold air intake but a short arm that sits under the hood i helped develop it for toucan but by itself it loses power and mileage it is better to use the stock airbox with the ballest in the fender removed
  16. bembro blacks that are slotteed or drilled are the best blanks for strength and warp resistance
  17. Odd i thought the system only resets after the car is shut down check the connections and wires that go along the inside of the ligths to see if the wires are being crimped against the body because they were not properly reinserted inside the channels to hold them ]
  18. I seen tons of fake rag tops with the bulges to make it look real but they aren't the es is such a flimsy frame it would be almost impossible to make a real cab , but with enough money thrown at a project and anything can happen that isn;t feasable

  22. look in the general maintance section as this is a general question on maintance products
  23. I rebuild the motor mounts with ureathane and they last under lots of stress with very little additional vibration but it will almost never go bad for years and years unlike the suspended mount inside the oem mount made to reduce the vibrations
  24. thanks for the reply i know the iacv has problems on all 97-01 engines as it fills with carbon and causes the engien to not restart when hot. one new thing to think of when troubleshooting
