  1. put back the cat you won;t make any gains in sound or performance unless you are turbo'd or with crazy internals the resonator helps make the sound deep ,so both being reinstallled would be of great benifit, you should have just bought a complete cat back system instead since i am sure you have a check engine light with no cat
  2. ok , well it makes a little more sense that you had it installed at the dealer and nota small shop which is what i thought from the post but audiovox still is dirt cheap and sold at wal mart and other discount stores including a $100 transponder makes it a little more reasonable my clifford came with an alarm ,remote start automatic headlight turn on when dark as well as a liftime warrenty plus some other modifications to work with the stock alarm for $400 usd which was a good price even then and yes i am straight forward but you didn;t ask a question to have a kind of answer but for the truth. no worries you got what you paid for after all as it was at lexus and came with a transponder.
  3. your nt supposed to manually adjust the idle it is done by the computer only
  4. thanks i thought most peopl would be mumbling under their breath for my straight forwardness and typing.
  5. then it is a relay check tehm under the hood by gettting someone to turn them on and off and listen for a click , no click no good
  6. things to do now as it is your NEW car plugs filter, oil, tranny flush every 30 k,clean the idle air control valve or get a motorvac to renew the engine
  7. the washer bottle is under the headlight and the motor can be seen from underneath the right side of the car
  8. same question same problem same solution when asked a month or so ago
  9. get a motorvac to clean the engine ,sensors and cat
  10. a fault in a 10 year old car is wear and tear not a fault opening it is one way other than resiliconing instead of taking it apart. and yes i still have the fog lights
  11. besides ebay links or references are not allowed !
  12. you need a scanner to read any obd 2 code there is a way to short out a few pins but it is complicated and not the safest way to check the cel those colour cells only tell you if one cell in a battery is good the rest could be dead. more info and someone might be able to help you, but from what is above it is vauge
  13. oh yah i fogot , you did get take for an overpriced peice of crap , audiovox is garbage and any store that sells it is also in the bottom of the barrel for quality as no good store would want to be associated with the brand
  14. the price $650 is for a good alarm like a clifford or,viper or code alarm with 2 way from a very reputable shop
  15. they don;t have to wait for it to fail especially if they have heard it also, thy might just not want to start taking apart a new car just like that tell them you want a new head unit first and they should do it
  16. those little morrors are a norm in asia as the roads are narrow and tey need all the angles they caqn to drive safely if you want to reduce blindspots get a lanechanger mirror which mounts on top of your rearveiw but with no affect on the normal mirror it sits on but gives you a perfect wide angle veiw as well as lets you see all your passangers easily especially children in the backseat. another option is to get smll round mirros added to the corners of your side mirrors otherwise you can find the fender mirrors at almost any large asain oriented mall ,they have a few of those here and i am sure cali does as well , they do look rather horendous on a vehicle though
  17. everyone is different in handling a situation just as many people are crazy, seriously. I have an airhorn installed in my civic for those situations like today some stupid girl sat in the fast lane for 10 minutes doing 60 in an 80 zone completly daft to the fact of driving and signs like other drivers hinking and flashing her. I passed he and let my horn spool, she then proceded to pass me as i was turning and honk at me ?????????????? I like to drive and my saftey is as important as anothers on the road but too many so called drivers are so truly clueless as to what to do on the road btw my civc cost more than most early LS's with all its real performance mods but you would never guess it is my winter car and as to what lies asleep in my garage , so never underestimate........
  18. How nice btu that is lexus for you , you don;t get to the top of JD powers by telling your customers that "oh that part is not warrantied on your brand new car" as so many domestic owners have to put up with. I get so annoyed to see the blatent disgregard of customer service when a person has a common problem with a car that they try and blame the customer for like GM and their stupid crappy fuel gauge senders which all go bad, so they blame the gas companies
  19. you need to replace the master switch ,it is expensive
  20. use woolite to wash the microfibre towels if the glass spots too fast then wax them it is dry and is sticky thus causing the water to not bead off. In light rain i don't really need my wipers as the air flow blows it right off all my cars easily
  21. umm what is your equation you are using so other owners can compare it effectivley
  22. agreed with everyone , i like your mod style sk8 :) the search engine goes a long way although it may take time to get all the answers. if you are not a car guy then get a set of sylvania silverstars from epe boys and leave the car bone stock it is perfect the way it is.
  23. i hardly ever see ES's rust the onyl spot i have seen is the front and rear rebars under the bupmer which collects slat and heats up by the engine and exhuast. other than that power wash the car every other week in the winter to prevent this as well as atleast once a good rust proofing. I don't have any rust on my baby
  24. your bulbs are probably blown if the fuse is not dead
  25. troubleshooting a cruise system is not easy as it is rather complicated, it is under the black shroud to the left side the battery when facing it. read all the other posts for more info on the silverstars
