  1. I would buy all major bolts from Lexus as they will be hardened steel compared to softer versions from a hardware store. They only seem soft because of the torque needed on a small surface face. BTW use anti seize on the rotors holding screws. You actually do not have to install them it just helps alleviate some chances of vibration. I am interested in why you want to change your studs on your car SHA? Replacement studs are not the easiest thing to get or remove/install as you pretty much need to press them out .
  2. There are 20 or 24 satellites around the world. You can only see 8-12 at any point in time. The more sats it can See the closer it can triangulate your exact position. It basically uses the sats position in the sky to make a grid and place you on the screen. The Lexus system also uses the speed sensor of the car to know what you are doing in speed and distance for times when you are in black spots .This happens when you go through tunnels or around high buildings which will block the sats signals. Make sense?
  3. Sounds like a clip inside the door is off , someoen may have tried to slim jim the door but only poped off the clips. Sorry i have no idea on exactly opening the door.
  4. Make sure the seat switch is moved all the way back and there is not coke or something sticky holding it in the Wong place. You don;t happen to get dead batteries as well by chance?
  5. If it was a complaint and never fixed then you may have a leg to stand on. I would also see if you can extend the warr as you can get everything possible fixed easily for less over time.
  6. Does the shimmey get less or more if you hit the brakes lightly or heavily?
  7. You could change all the main grounds from the battery ,alternator , chassis , and other motor points. It would cost about $30 for some good stereo power wire with gold connectors. Since you can do simple stuff like clean the throttle body you should have no worries making the kit and installing them in about 2 hours max going very very slow.
  8. Try these 2 both outline the same process of bypassing the speed sensor from reaching the head unit lock out and simulates the parking brake being held on. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=24442 http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...?showtopic=6875
  9. Did you move the seat all the way foward of was it found like that one day? You may have a sticking switch causing a relay to lock out until it is fixed.
  10. I have a dual bench grinding wheel so after i remove any brake and suspension bolt i take the wire wheel side of it to remove any corrosion that has built up. This makes it easier to reinstall and remove next time. The heat just increases the severity of the seized bolt faster. Which is why suspension and brake components should always be lubed and cleaned before reinstall. At least i always do to save my hands and !Removed! from me kicking myself later from not cleaning them before.
  11. The Lexus blades and the Toyota ones are different. Lexus has a Teflon coating the Toyota ones don't
  12. You can get the wiper inserts from Lexus' parts department for about $10 for both and tehy are teflon coated as well. Better than anyother ones i have used and cheaper as well.
  13. No in Canada since 1990 all vehicle sold here must have a forward front lighting sytem on at all times. It can be side marker lights (caravans) headlights(half power), highbeams(half power) or fogs.
  14. Yes you can buy just the shim kit . I would spray some pb blaster and let it soak a few days and hit it again before attempting to remove the bolts. Make usre you wire wheel the caliper studs to prevent them from seizing from heat.
  15. A dirty fuel filter will not clog your throttle body. It is very common for the engine you have to carbon the intake manifold easily. I would invest in a $10 tool kit and learn to spray the cleaner in yourself for about $4 every couple months. I run my tanks bone dry in both of my Lexus and my Honda with no issues of a fuel filter needing to be changed.
  16. My thoughts is no matter what the problem is with 1 ignitor it will never cause the engein to cut off just stumble and idle badly. It may work on even 3 but will run for sure with only 1 cylinder dead. I wouldn;t have changed a ignitor before moving it to another bank and plug to make sure it was faulty. What exact code do they get? When the car dies does it slowly stumble down in rpms or just cuts right off?
  17. buy a basic $50 scanner from ebay unless you can actually use all the parameters in troubleshooting problem.
  18. I thought there had to be somethign more to make it easier to relese the hooks. After i pulled the seat i could not find any sign of a mechanism that would release the hooks from the tabs. Maybe from 98 and up they don't have the tabs. Or am i just overlooking something.
  19. Does your steering wheel still adjust? Anythgin else not working?

Clear bra film for front end as well as some yellow film for the foglights HID's for my fogs which i partly already have Backup sensors as well as for the front ,i have one kit already but it has no display.
  21. The problem is toyota ECu's are self learning .They take other measuerments to determine is a sensor is not readin right and then compensates it back to an original bandwith. So by adding a resistor to the MAF the ecu will give you more gas thinking the air is colder which equals power as well. Problem is it will shortly revert to normal. It is the same problem many have had with the Apex-i controller which is a variable rate maf signal modifier. It soon has its base lines thrown out by the ecu.
  22. General maintance has a full list of Cbest options (lps)
  23. You are about to baraged by members asking to run a vin NC. Very nice of you either way.
  24. I had to wedge a prybar and pull up to get the seat bottom to release ,it takes alot of energy to release.
  25. You can take the bulbs out as i have changed mine as well. You need to remove the screen by pulling the face plate off. It was over 6 years since i did mine so i am not very fresh on details.
