  1. Yes the LS430 rims will fit no issues since they also have large brakes. I only added spacer because i got aftermarket rims. If going up 1 size i would not really bother 18's are a nice upgrade for look and comfort. Anythign bigger will impact the gas mialge much more. The biggest impact with a larger rim is with city driving not highway which the rolling velocity is consistant so it does no afect it. My 20's added 1 more liter so i now have an average of 12L/100km while it used to be 10-11L per 100km with a highway city mix.
  2. The sensor for my LS should be the same on yours. It is just a swing arm held on by 1 nut to a long U shaft which allows you to loosen the bolt and slide it up and down .There is another sensor on the front control arm but only the rear one needs to be adjusted down a few MM .Just look on the lower control arm for the slider and a small black box connected to the body of the car.
  3. Where the clear plastic lanes meets the plastic housing. I looked at mine again today and was so suprised to see how poorly fit together it was. In some parts it definatly did not have any sealant.Again it is not silicone but a crazy glue type hard acrylic which is used .It had many openings around the edges where the 2 plastics meet from not having enough or any sealant. I am very glad i did it before installing them to keep water out which would cause me more headache than anything to remove and reinstall new ones . It is common that aftermarket clear or normal ones leak. Never sealed properly which is why i did mine before install.
  4. The way the taillight buldges out at the top of it is what i personally don't like . it takes away from the curves of the car from being smooth. Never mind the sheet metal is so flat and straight down it is begging to get 10 -20 door dings a day.
  5. look in the GS section the solution should be similar
  6. I got mine and put them in today as well. OH MY Fing everything. I found this mod to be the most labour intensive project just to loosen 2 bolts a side. it should have taken 10 minutes max.But Toyota decided a different style and to make the nuts almost inaccessible to loosen. The passenger side was pretty easy, but the driver side i had to remove the inner fender lining to get in there properly. They look very nice with the rest of my cleared front end and my 5 point LED's which shine nicely. They are 194 bulbs like almost every other bulb in the car. Like all aftermarket cleared or otherwise lenses they need to be sealed as the quality is very low and they will always leak and get moisture inside. So i took silicone and made a nice clean bead to seal them air tight. It was funny to see how much of it got in the seams as the acrylic from the factory is not applied evenly. A few hot cold days and they would have given up easily.i also used the original bulb holder rather than the one it came with as i could make it sit much tighter ensure a better seal everywhere. I love the look but the labour intensive part really sucks for it. Only tool needed was a 10mm wrench which still snapped one nut on a screw.
  7. log in go to tracks on the left under the heading THE TRACK select a track you want to see top times for a specific car by selecting it at the bottom drop down and voila ! 8. I am lost???????? How is the strut coming out of the housing? The main shock bolt or the shock bushing with is attaced by 3 bolts?
  9. Your welcome to post here if you don't own a Lexus or want to . The IS is over priced for what it is and has some ugly features such as a bulging 3d taillight (only visible in person) a red reflector that looks like it was an afterthought and just stuck on like a post it note. For the price of an IS i would not buy it as will most of the public. I feel they have priced themselves out of the market. I like the car but the GS is more value by miles than this thing is.
  10. Ok the water coming from the pipes is caused from the cat doing what it does which is burn excess hydro carbons as the platinum and other precious metals create a reaction. The by product is carbon and water with many other safer pollutants. So as long as you don;t run the engine for long periods of time the cats should be fine and not burn out. Now to the problem at hand. In order to properly troubleshoot any problem you cannot just pull and disconnect parts to see if there is a difference. You need to disconnect one plug at a time and make sure every single one if firing. Then disconnect each injector plug and note the changes. When you do each one report exactly what you found by doing it one at a time.Anything else is a waste of time. When you reinstalled the fuel rail and injectors did you buy a new O ring kit to reseat your 15 year old ones which are probably destroyed ?
  11. Lex get a motor vac. Umm who's thread is this cabu or banho ?
  12. After that pic of the engine bay i would sell it. You have structural damage and they never fix them perfectly after.
  13. Alternator is suspect otherwise a ground wire to it or the battery.
  14. This sounds odd. In order to get the car into neutral there is usually a little hole (or button covering the hole) you insert your key and it will release the lock on the shifter when the battery is dead. I am also confused in what you are saying. What does "went out again" mean? try and be alittle moe descriptive.
  15. I prefer the extra power and gas milage as well as the look but i am biased.
  16. It is rather simple and not much to worry about . To remove the wheel disconnect the battery for atleast 10 minutes. You will lose all memory radio and time settings. This will discharge the SRS system, it only needs about 1 minute but i would rather wait longer. You will need to remove the side flaps to get to the torx screws at each side. This will loosen the airbag ,after that you have to attach a steering wheel puller to pop off the wheel which is flanged incase the nut falls off. Just disconnect when you are done ,that is it.
  17. Thanks Come on I'll race you in my bone stock Ferrari F1 with not even polycarbonate windows (like they even have windows). just remember all the tricks i taught you on how to know if you are going to win or lose before racing .
  18. Thanks no i turn the mythical age of 30 Now it is time to retire.
  19. I have no idea what the point of the taco post was. Well you have pretty much figured it out. You are getting no spark. Both the 1 and 7 are on the same coil pack. So the wires or coil or its wiring is bad. BTW the exhaust may smell of gas but it is water coming out the tips not liquid gas or you would have fire shooting out the pipes.
  20. Nick did you ever try leaving the dome light in the off position? I keep having SRS lights every first start of the day. After that it is fine so i feel it is just a low voltage situation at initial system check for the SRS. Here is my point though. I replaced my dome light tonight with an LED and notiiced the light turned off but was still allowing power to go though it causing the bulb to have a glimmer of light. Although it is small such a problem can cause a dead battery as anyone who has left a car door open over night can tell you. Just a thought
  21. The ignition light as the other 2 similar bulbs are not as bright as original but they work which is fine for me. I also replaced the other original bulbs for the upper rear seat area and they were a complete waste of time. he LED bulbs i pickup had absolutely no output ,the only light you saw was when you looked right at the bulb. So i ordered a new set of 194 Leds with 9 bulbs per unit. I installed them this afternoon and WOW what a difference they are brighter than the original and the other LED's which i also am keeping in the lower door area. The only difference is they light up with a purplish pink glow not a clean white or blueish white like the one i have. Do i mind ,not on your life.I love them more than any other bulb i have replaced. I also replaced the front dome light from the kit i received as it was dim to say the least. The new one has 6 LED's per bulb and is 2-3X's brighter than the original one and 5 times more than the LED it replaced. So now i have a nice purplish white glow when i disarm my alarm at night. On one side note i found my dome light does not turn off completely when it is in door position. Some how in the circuit it is not fully opening causing it to drain power. I never noticed it before because a normal filament never shows any light but this has a tiny ball of it. So i turned off the door selector and am waiting for the morning as i keep getting an SRS light every first start of the day due to a low voltage situation.I am hoping this is where my loss is coming from as i already changed the belts and grounds plus the battery and alternator test out fine.
  22. Remove them and clean with a tooth brush and throttle body cleaner and sea foam
