  1. The engine "breathes" through its intake air filter and on to its intake manifold. Removing the plastic should not be harmful, but it would not be helpful, either. By changing the intake air filter every 10,000 miles or so, your engine will breathe easily. And don't forget your cabin filter, also.
  2. They should have the same wheel bolt circle pattern, but the width and offset may not be the same. If you find some, perhaps ask the owner for the year and model of the vehicle they came from. Then you can plug in that information in Tirerack's website, which should reveal the information you will need to compare to the those for your vehicle.
  3. Usually, a wheel bearing noise is most evident when the vehicle is rounding a corner, not when the vehicle is traveling in a straight line.
  4. That looks like it tells you the percentage of torque being applied to the front and rear wheels. This could be determined based upon wheel/tire slip under varying conditions. See: On the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) models, how do I switch between AWD and Front-Wheel Drive (FWD)? (toyota.com)

  6. Factory size is 215/55-17 You can look up this information, including wheel sizes that match the tires by going to www.tirerack.com. an 8-inch width (17-inch) wheel with +40 offset appears to be OEM sizes. You can also call the experts at Tirerack if you have any questions.
  7. We've had our RX400h for over 18 years, so I understand your being attached to it. The longest I've owned any vehicle was almost 22 years. I bought a used 1968 Corvette convertible when I was 21 and didn't sell it until I was 43.
  8. Did you ask them if they've seen this happen in other ES350s or models of the same year? If so, there may need to be a recall, just as there was for dash replacements in RX vehicles before 2016 when the vehicles were less than 10 years old. Those dashes were softening and cracking.
  9. Gas stabilizers are typically used when your vehicle will not be driven for extended periods of time (3 months or more).
  10. Side note: Always use your maintenance schedule as a guide for determining when things need to be changed. Since the transmission is essentially a closed system, if the fluid is changed according to the manufacturers listings, the filter is not often required to be changed at the same time. Your maintenance schedule should specify. However, if the transmission fluid was neglected for extended periods of time, then the filter should be changed when the fluid is changed.

  17. Did you follow this procedure, precisely? Turn the ignition on and at each individual window control, roll them down half way and then all the way up and hold the button up for 3 seconds, until the light stops flashing. This will reset the windows and they then should work from the master switch on the driver's door. The lights on each switch should no longer blink.
  18. Have you checked the main relay and fuel pump fuses?
