    It's not just Lexus. Ever since dealerships found that they could make the same or greater profit without having a lot full of vehicles, they are reluctant to go back to the old ways. Leasing as it was is no longer worthwhile to many dealers.

    Eccentric bolts are made to allow for alignment adjustments. If your tire was wearing unevenly, then you should have the bolt replaced. If the alignment is good, then you could hold off on having the bolt replaced.

    It could be that the sound seems to be coming from inside the car yet is actually coming from a suspension component like a bushing or loose bolt. I would have a shop put it on a lift to audibly and visually inspect the suspension.

    It looks like your factory wheels' offset is +50, so the +40s you are interested in may not work. factory widths are 9.0 (front) and 9.5 (rear) Tire upsize would be 225/35 - 20 and 265/35 - 20, but then the wheels would likely be heavier, meaning slower acceleration and longer braking distance.     Did you check with the dealership that did the dash replacement?

    Do you have the proper wrench for the screw heads? If that slips, then another way to get them off would be to use a Dremel tool with a small cutoff wheel. Use this to make a slot in each screw head. (Wear protective glasses.) Then use a large flat-blade screwdriver to remove each screw. Yes, it's a lot of work but my guess is that some of the screws can be removed with a hex or Torx wrench.

    Once the lid/door is open, look at the mechanical latching components. Perhaps there is excessive interference between them that prevents the door from releasing. There could be an adjustment that is needed. You can also ask a mechanic to check it out.

    Are you referring to the start button on the dash? Have you checked voltage to the starter while the button is pressed?

    Your Lexus parts department person may be able to tell you if the rails and wiring harness are the same for both options.
