  1. Hopefully, yours is as easy as this one: 2006-2018 Lexus ES 350 2006-2017 Toyota Camry V6 Engine 2GR-FE PCV Valve Replacement How To Change - Bing video
  2. Have you used an OBD II code scanner to determine what the codes are and what they mean? A bad or inconsistent ground connection could cause many weird issues. Also, if there were history and/or current codes before a battery replacement, they should be erased with the scanner,
  3. Some search engines will search for images. Have you tried that? (Take a photo and see if it can be found.)
  4. I suggest you also get an estimate from a nearby Toyota dealership. They are often less expensive.
  5. It could be your muffler's sound amplification in the youtube videos. The problem is that you may not know for sure until the headers are installed if your muffler(s) are different. Have you contacted the company that makes the headers? They have have some insight.
  6. This is not uncommon with older vehicles that are used often during warm months. The actuator in question is not the same as the door lock actuator that is mentioned in the first post. Most likely, what you were told is correct.
  7. Check to see if any related hardware is loose. While going over bumps, push your finger (or ask a passenger to do it) on various locations where the roof seals against the windshield or side windows, If the noise stops, you'll know the general location on which to focus your attention.
  8. Make sure they have plenty of tread and are less than 6 years old, and enjoy the trip!
  9. You're welcome, Alison. Both will be fine if done correctly. If you've never done it before, it'd be best to have the roadside person do it. But allow time for the donor vehicle to charge your battery, sufficiently.
  10. A jump will work if the "jumper" allows (after hookup of the cables) 5 minutes or so of his engine, idling before starting your vehicle. He may even increase his engine speed a bit while waiting. If you're then going to take your RX straight home, you should be okay. Soon after, you should have your battery load-tested after being fully charged. This can be done by a local auto parts store employee. If the battery is good after a full charge, you are done. In the future, any vehicle that will not be used for 2 months should have a "battery tender" connected to the battery to keep it fully charged. This device is typically less than $50 and comes with instructions for setting it up.
  11. Hello, AlexisAnn. About a year ago, I had an automotive Locksmith create a key and synchronized a new key fob to my 2008 Mazda Miata. He didn't have any problem in doing so. I suggest that you call another locksmith and explain the details. They typically prefer to supply everything and not work with existing fobs, as some are not compatible. Unfortunately, auto Locksmiths charge quite a bit for this type of service.
  12. The procedure listed on the page referenced by this link 2005-2019 Lexus TPMS Reset Instruction (erwinsalarda.com) mentioned a "Scan Tool". Did Discount Tire use such a tool?
  13. Typically, a bearing-related noise will increase in loudness as the vehicle is rounding a curve, either to the left or right. I guess this can happen while the vehicle is going straight, but it is less likely to do so. Any mechanic should be able to pinpoint whether a bearing is the culprit.

  15. Here in my area, there are a couple of Auto Upholstery shops that do just that. You may want to search for shops like that in your part of town.
  16. You should check to see if there are any codes. If you don't have a code reader, you can take the car to any O'Reilly's or other auto parts store for a free code check. Possible issues: Stuck open thermostat Faulty temperature sensor or gauge
  17. You're welcome, Erika. Please keep an eye on your coolant temperature gauge, also. If all the coolant was sucked into the engine, there could be air in the system, which may cause temps to rise beyond what it should be. If that's the case, the air needs to be purged, typically at more than one bleed plug on the engine.
  18. I would definitely stay away from a transmission shop, especially if your transmission is working fine. You should get a second opinion. It doesn't have to be by a dealership but try to research shops with good yelp ratings or shops that are recommended by coworkers or friends.
  19. I would first see if one or both arms is bent, possibly from shipping pressure or impact. If you can't find anything unusual, you may want to call the wiper manufacturer and describe what you are seeing.
  20. In this case, the dealership should keep your vehicle, overnight and run it when it is cold and fully warmed up. This is common procedure when an issue is intermittent.
  21. Does it do this only when an engine bay fan turns on?
  22. Regarding our RX400h: I think your index finger is pointing to a reverse light. The other lights are on when our headlights are on, so I'm sure there are bulbs behind them.
  23. Sometimes Lexus will (in a TSB) recommend sending the vehicle to the "body shop". You may want to check into that.
  24. I have a few questions about the procedure: 1. Did they drain and fill all fluids, including the gasoline? 2. Did they check and replace, if necessary, all air filters? 3. Did they replace the battery? If they did, I don't think that any damage had occurred when they started the engine.
