sakataj replied to 305pimpc's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
so you had your tranny rebuilt in 2007 and somehow you still spun a bearing.....sounds like they did a shotty job on the rebuild or your REALLY beating this car 2 death even more than some people i know who race theirs . tranny on the gs300 fairly stout till like 450+ hp...... bro whats ur fuc-ing issue with me! ever time i post something you have something smart too say whats up!!! GET OFF THE D-CK FUC- BOY! IF YOU GOT SHI- TO SAY GET TOO IT! last time i checked i didnt have a issue with youi was just responding to your posts. only issue i did have was you TYPING IN ALL CAPS FOR EVERYPOST but not really a issue for me.im just stating the facts AS YOU CLAIM THEM.....you got tranny rebuilt in 2007 it its already messed up. like i said its some shotty job if its already out! if you dont want responses dont post man. nice language, how old r u like 22? get off the D!ck F*ck boy.........dear lord, sorry kiddo i dont swing your way. oh n by the way i did say what i had say or the SHI- (as u say) i just noticed this, this morning from your first post. sigh....morons like you belong in jail......or dead either way. -
nope never used them before. 200...........hmmmm just replaced one on my buddies nissan altima was 500 something list i think n he works for nissan....his car came from up north like mine and the salt in the road ate the sensor up. who knows, might be more problems than not having abs. take it to a compentent mechanic or a brake specialist. i know thats what your looking for but i try to steer clear or certain problems with cars....if its a little minor brake thing thats cool but something major and i dont wanna touch it with a pole

2 answer your question bout auto leveling...auto leveling works at start up, although my drivers side NEVER does this making me wonder if they both have auto leveling or if one of mine is out... how can they still offer a warranty on a car thats been out of warranty for like 2 years EVEN with the extended warranty it would be out. i mean i know u can get diffrent warranties but u sure this is A LEXUS DEALERS WARRANTY? tried getting one from my dealer on my 2001 back in 2007 n couldn't get one.

haha not that im aware of....plus it depends how heavy your foot is. i normally see bout 14-16 city on my gs430 and bout 22-23 highway but i have a VERY VERY heavy foot

Front Knocking On Rough Surface
sakataj replied to dssnosher's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
have a mechanic u trust check the lower ball joints, your suspension bushings, make sure sway bar is tight (not falling out/off and the sway bar bushings not toasted), lower control arms or LCA's, the steering knuckles, a good alignment or suspension shop should be able to help you.i c u live in the UK i was gonna say if u live in Memphis go see Doug at zellners. he's great....but also have them check shocks, motor mounts, nething from the suspension that rattles can make a noise and im a little confused on your description but that should help move you along a little atleast -
Take it to mechanic that your friend/family trusts and tell him to check for - leaks - suspension - engine compression - breaks - let him drive the car I might be wrong but that's what i did when i got my 98GS400. I enjoy every second of it but i begin to have suspension problems that even Lexus dealership couldn't identify. Good luck you better hope its not a ABS sensor they mucho expensive, depending on what the abs light is on for i might just move on to the next car and search again for a gs
-
are you talking about the sensor on the cluster that tells you, that u have a bulb out? then if so these are ONLY for the brake lights.....or lights on the taillights NOT the front lights but i might be wrong......im fairly certain! does it come on right after you tap your brakes or when does it come on?

Cluster Dead........changing Out Question.
sakataj replied to FantasiGS400's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
no it will show whatever the mileage on the new one had when removed from the donor car. if you drive as much as me just wait like 6-7 months and then plug new unit up and you should be within 100 miles of the 8000 u were over..... :D -
Is noy only nav unit you have to change , is the wire harness to... That is difrent to dvd based system. Its mean this cost to much to do this work. yeah for the most part they both right......ALTHOUGH it can be done BUT just like they said its a costly endeavor and really more trouble that what its worth. just buy a aftermarket gps for it and use factory tv screen for a radio/etc

sorta......it can tell u if u have a warped head (not if the head is bad) but sometimes you can resurface or remachine a head (i wouldnt but thats just me). it could just be as simple as a head gasket (although if you have a gs300 the head gasket ISN'T a simple job on this cause of all the stuff you have to remove to get to it) or it could be a stuck thermostat or a bad thermostat or a warped head (specially if its overheated one to many times) my $0.02......get a mechanic who knows what he's doing and go from there, cause it sounds like your guy doesn't know much or enough i would wanna take MY car to.....but again just my $0.02
-
u can try that....but i figured if he thought it was INSIDE the lens it really was inside the lens, i mean somedays with my fogsi can see the water in my housing, so you know hence the condensation i get in my fog light.....i need to replace that soon! god im busy/lazy!

Heating And Cooling Problem
sakataj replied to darrylg33's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
its's cool....yeah i bought the car and they were making a computer like harddrive noise and slowly the air started fluctuating temps on each side....BUT since drivers side ALWAYS works i havent worried bout it to much, but now getting colder and gf already hates leather seats (even with the seat warmers) im gonna change them soon, like i said i changed them just didnt buy new ones and the used ones i bought didn't work either so im gonna buy new ones soon -
good luck getting him to do that, even if he misdiagnosed that. thats why i go to a mechanic i trust.

yeah it was sooooooooo odd to me that the insurance was like that and thats really the reason i bought a 430 i was searching for a gs300 when i started searching thinking i couldnt afford insurance on the gs400 or gs430 but i was shocked by that. eww 2 dui's OUCH. i had my license suspended twice for points (had 27 tickets and a few arrests for reckless driving which is 25+ mph over between 18-23, hell my first arrest and or ticket was doing 95 in a 40mph on my bike and i even slowed down when i saw the cop) when i was younger (just got all of them off my record) i pay 135 for full coverage and i was paying like 187 for liability when i still had those on my record. i never even noticed my discount when i turned 25. now that ALL my tickets off (except one i just got for going 6 over) i will see what my insurance is like in january when its time for my renewal! u wont be smiling if u geta v8 and u on the road all the time 15-17 city mpg and 20-23 highway.....

what do u mean dirty on the inside? like condensation or dirt? cause if you have dirt and trash inside means they leaking and/or car might have been flooded or underwater. sometimes condensation happens from a leak but normally they not DIRTY inside....clarify please. welcome to the club also I have had the car since it was new, so I know it has never had any water damage or any other kind. The inside of the lense is hazy, kind of like a window inside the car will get after a while. That's the best way I can describe it. I have on occasion seen moisture inside of them after I have washed it, but it goes away pretty quickly. oh u just mean condensation.....u have a water leak n water is getting into your headlight. might wanna take them off and heat up headlight in the oven (after removing wires/bulbs) and clean the inside lens then reseal them or if you dont wanna take them apart u can just use some caulk on outside if u can find the leak or just caulk whole thing with some clear silicon. or replace whole headlights........ either way

Heating And Cooling Problem
sakataj replied to darrylg33's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
Hi D, I too have the same issue...imagine that!!! :0 Did you take the dash out yet? I had a chance to take a look back there and I was not sure which servo was giving me problems...how did you figure that out. There are 3 on the gs. Anyway when I removed the dash I found that one of the blend doors..ie drivers side becase that is the one blowing cold air, is not closing all the way. So I just gave up because the weather changed for the better and now it's cold again and so am I. I'd like to figure this out with you because I know the units are about 130-150 per servo. What about the temp sensor below the key ignition? Could be a bad sensor, the gs gets is cabin reference from 3 sensors also. Two light (in the dash) and one air flow temp sensor, very similar to maf sensor. I'm sure one of these is the issue: heater head unit 2 sun sensors cabin air temp sensor and hose 3 cabin servos cabin blend doors. Now I read that another gentlemen, I believe sakorti???? maybe said he had the mark levinson navigation. I think their heater and sound system is integrated, which would lead me to believe that could possibly rule out our head unit. The hose that draws air over the temp sensor is kind of cheesy....my sensor had a lot of dust on it so I do recommend everyone clean it. Lets start there and see what happens...give me some feedback I'd like to know what happens. Erik my name is sakataj not sakorti..............yes i have the ML nav so its not the head unit. FIRST AND FOREMOST DO NOT TAKE OUT THE DASH ITS NOT NEEDED FOR THIS.if your drivers side is blowing cold air the servo and blend door ARE STILL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE and you dont need to pull the dash!!! u def hit the nail on the head,NORMALLY this is a servo motor problem and yes the rx's have a problem with this just like the gs (FINALLY WOW EITHER A SMART NOOB OR A NOOB WHO KNOWS HOW TO SEARCH 1ST, I SAY NOOB BUT U BEEN ON HERE FOR ALMOST 3 YEARS JUST NO POSTS REALLY but MY HATS OFF TO YOU darrylg33 FOR DOING YOUR OWN RESEARCH 1ST :D ) ........there are technically 4 servo motors on the gs series. 3 of them are on the right side (passenger) (if your counting the fresh air recirculation servo which some people dont) and the temp servo and the mode servo (plus the one on the drivers side, IT does require pulling part of the dash but the other 3 dont.......just take out glovebox. i have done this and fixed it but since i was being cheap i used, used servo's and they out now again too! wont do that again......if u remove glovebox...ask guytelephunken for a pdf on this or pm me and i can walk you throughh it....you'll see the 3 servos under the dash (damn i wish i had finished my DIY write up already) but you'll know which one it is......it will be crunchin and making computer harddrive whirr noises as its failing to close the blend doors all the way. with glovebox off,cd player removed, plastic shroud removed......turn car off.......start it and listen for servo making funky noises i promise you'll know which one it is. i just replaced both (i dont wanna deal with it again) and go from there....i found some for like 139 and 160 but i have to find my notes. i told you i started a DIY with like 100 pics but i havent finished it....will do so when i put in new ones AGAIN pm me or post on here if you need nething else. oh yeah and if AFTER doin this u still have ne problems.......then look into these heater head unit 2 sun sensors cabin air temp sensor and hose but not normally these and i would be willing to bet its just the servo motor. -

Could be transmission related if not tune up issues...what year is your car again? def not transmission related., it can and it alot of the time right foot related.....or pump, injectors, etc etc . shouldnt ever be a tranny less its just going out and winding the gears. welcome to the club...........u do know this post is OVER 6 months old?
