  1. That was worth the time it took. Your tip just saved me $30.00 or so. I'm still fascinated by the service I get with a Lexus. So far it's been a real pleasure to own one... even a used one. BTW, santa brought some new wood trim to replace the cracked panels. Just a few more minor fixes and she will be near perfect. Thanks again for the help pics help too.......congrats on the new ride an welcome to the forum
  2. I just purchased a used 1993 SC300 with 47,000 miles. Mine is also like new and has been serviced regularly. I have found that the passenger seat will not go all the way forward or back. It will move slightly and then start to twist rather than contimue in a straight fluid motion. Before joining this forum I found several old postings on the "little white disc" in the gear assembly. I will be taking my Lexus into the dealer next week to get an additional key made and would like them to look at the seat, but.... I don't want them taking advantage of a "helpless woman" so I am trying to gather as much info as possible. Thanks for any help. Rhonda yes rhonda but the maintenance and problems on the gs and sc series are not always the same..... we really have no seat problems to speak of on the gs! OH and u bought a 1993 sc WITH ONLY 47K on the odometer? sorry i just find that hard to buy a 15, fixing to be 16, year old car with ONLY 47k congrats richard, make sure all maintenance up to date, you stay on top of maintenance for the future. since your just getting car to be on the safe side you might wanna change ALL fluids, change air filters including cabins, maybe change spark plugs (i think they a PITA on the gs300 though, not sure as i have the gs430 and the v8 isnt bad) maintenance in the future that will NEED to be get done ball joints (think they recommend at 60k but i just did mine at 100k) servo motors prone to failing door locks can kind of be a issue some of us have a awful shimmy, shake at 60mph or 80mph.... cant think bout much else off the top of my head
  3. call sewell lexus in dallas! talk to them merry christmas all I live in phoenix arizona so what? i live in memphis tn and bought a new master key from them 2 days ago online FOR dirt cheap!!!! here is the key u need to order from them (beat that price at your local dealer, i couldnt) http://www.sewellpartsonline.com/parts_detail.asp?id=68697 then have sewell cut your key like i did (proof of ownership required) and program your key and see if it works (not sure since u have no master) and IF NOT just go to dealer take it to local dealer if u so choose and have them reflash the ecu
  4. so u pulled the glove box out to check these 3 on passenger side and dash out to check drivers side?? i still say its a servo...BUT u might check what u said YOU thought it was before. heater head unit (?) 2 sun sensors cabin air temp sensor and hose 3 cabin servos cabin blend doors.

  6. all i was saying was, this wasnt a miracle cure....other things could be causing this but if you think about it, it does make sense. i guess i'll try this! thanks again..... have a merry christmas every1
  7. this actually isnt ALWAYS a fix....has been discussed before and isnt always the solution but i haven't done the bushing kityet! i did do front lower ball joints, new tires, road force balance, new oem lug nutts, new weights, new shocks, aftermarket springs, tried the steering tensioner adjustment (although never finished this one) DIDNT do tie rods but will be doing so soon and mine is very unnoticeable nemore! would like it completely gone though so i might try this, i saw u said u got the bushings from tm engineering? got a link and how much were they? nice write up btw see old discussions....different site. im on there also AND if u read them in included in the discussions as we all tried to fix this....15 pages of discussions on this one alone http://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-second-...ines-fixed.html http://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-second-...adjustment.html

  16. welcome to the forum, try to use the search tab for yourself this way we dont end up with 20 posts bout the SAME thing which i promise we already do, i have seen like 4 on the servo motors n the last month ! http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...=Search&f=1 what you have is a bad servo motor...its the temp servo you need...... the part #'s the mode 87106-30371 and the cooling 87106-30340 have to double check these at the house but they should be right. i suggest changing the mode servo while your in there so you dont have to open her back up! NEWAYS i will post some links bout this but in the future as i stated try searching some old posts first! http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...;hl=servo+motor http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...;hl=servo+motor http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...;hl=servo+motor http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...;hl=servo+motor http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...;hl=servo+motor http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...;hl=servo+motor http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...;hl=servo+motor http://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-second-...nger-sides.html http://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-second-...tml#post3823177 in one of these links you should be able to better understand. i do have a DIY started with pics but man im so busy i havent gotten much done on it

  19. kyb or gabriel...... i would go for coilovers though..... just my $0.02
  20. So Steve, is it best to go in and ask for just new inserts, or replace the whole blade? I assume that it is easy to replace yourself eitherway. My problem is that I have always had a thin film of water that is left briefly when the wipers sweep. I think that this has always been there, but seems to be getting worse. Not sure if replacing the blades is even the best thing to do or not. Boston Snowboarder 05 ES330 just change the whole thing
  21. sigh......use the search tab and check for synchro motors. im being lazy today and dont feel like searching for them and posting links to them. or look back at my first handful of posts i went through this
  22. yeah i know what u mean. insurance varies but really depends more on the driver.....im paying right at 100 a month with full coverage. but keep in mind i have a awful driving record...even though most of it starting to roll of
  23. i would still report all this to the BBB that way some1 else doesn't have this happen to them. no point in complaining bout bad shops if WE as a community never do nething bout it or them
  24. i would be interested to see where you can get a delorean NEW for 25k as the company has been outta business since 1982, maybe a rebuilt or restoration but not a new one UNTIL atleast 2008 (hahaha they better hurry its almost 2k9) it seems they trying to bring them back but either way you couldnt get a new one for 25k. even if u found one some1 NEVER drove you couldnt get it for 25k. although that press release was from august 2007 so i wouldnt hold your breath http://blog.leasetrader.com/archive/2007/0...-to-return.aspx i saw these 2 pages also.... http://www.funtrivia.com/en/World/DeLorean-14025.html it seems they made a 24k gold plated delorean for awhile.........only sold 2 but here is one of them http://www.bigtexas.com/dmc/ well apparently we all seem to be saying the same thing to you just about....POST some pics so we can help you! n i know you said they coming but so is Christmas.....
