  1. I am a retired mechanic, but I would not even try, of coarse I am 75+ now, and my body says NONONO... and I listen.. I REMEMBER the day I would have...
  2. Is this for 95-97? or first gen?
  3. I am parting 2 lexus LS400 cars. Both black. 1990 and 1994 call 817-800-2070 3009 Glenwood Court Bedford, TX 76021 check this guy out, I bought his solenoid last week.. and the first posting "HERE" has a good LCD..
  4. I am with Omar..... get a 95-97 and do your self a favor.. read this forum... most of it is 90-94 troubles, instrument are fragile on them. 95-97 are more solid. NOW: a bell rings when you think of a super low mileage car... "go get it!!!" you think.. but I owned a 7 stall garage for 30 years and have worked on many "steals"... nearly all of them had bearing failure due to not being driven and the lube had drained down, even pre packed bearings... some had rust problems in the brakes also.. problems waiting to happen.. so follow your heart, and dont go on a long trip the first year if you get it.. but do change ALL fluids with TB/WP also...

  6. Tony you will want to "wash" the screens and get them clean. AND you might want to read this... I read his (just his) comments from start to finish and found out some good info about (deep)cleaning the PS pump... spend a little time and check this. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...eering+solenoid
  7. OK Tony, it is on the way, priority mail, it looks good, car was smashed on drivers side so I think it will be a good one..(they had to be driving it).... and I hope it was your problem.. let us know. I talked him down to 25, gave my nephew 20, it was difficult to jack up on soft ground (been raining) and get it broken loose, then it was a snap. that left me 5, so I sent it priority, 4.95.... so I beat you out of a nickle.... if I ever come that way I will look you up and we will go spend it... glad to have been a help... cheers. bp
  8. your mailbox is full.... please send 50. paypal charges me a fee to receive $$$.. thanks.
  9. yep, but those radio/backlights can get under your skin..... I sold my 96 (Pioneer radio) because of that. I took it to Lexus pioneer repair in dallas, they fixed it, lasted 1 day, and they said there was nothing else they could do... so it is in Arkansas now.... and I am happy with my 97's. hopefully yours will be a piece of cake..
  10. My 97's now have 247 & 238 (wifes) with new TB/WP/TM on mine, hers ok. They drive & look excellent. Wife's DWP My OWP
  11. ok, if it comes off quickly, $10 would take care of Jon, it is about 30 miles from carrollton to bedford, so thats no problem either. I have not been there to see if it can be tested, the man said he had no way, so we will just have to see what happens, let me know what you want to do. oh, I think $5 will send it to you you really need some way to check yours.... why it works on start up and then quits, makes no sense..
  12. OK, the man in Bedford has a 94 LS400 and he will sell the solenoid for 30.00 but he cannot take it off, and at 75 I dont much want too either. I am sure I can get a nephew to go with me and get it off. I dont know how much trouble it is to take it off, but I would need to pay him something. Let me know if you want to persue this, we will be buying blind, so it is your $$$ let me know. bp
  13. didnt you drive it home?? a long way? was it all right then? you sure you have good gas?
  14. I'm just glad we dont get the ice and snow.... it is pretty, I like looking at it, but I would be very dangerous good old Texas..... but keep your AC up to par. whew
  15. I have had several (7) LS', and 95-97 is the strongest in my mind, less nit picking problems.... just read the forum here.... the most troublesom is 90-94... I think the 98-2000 is pretty but I dont think they are as well built... that is JUST my 2 cents worth.... Thanks for the help. No rush to buy, driving es 330 04, wife has 04 Impala, both paid off. Great Bible study link. Have a great day. Tim thanks, my hope is it helps people get into their Bible where the Holy Spirit can teach them the REAL truth, not my words, which are just stimulants.... 2 Tim 2:15 Study.....

  21. thanks for that site. prices are fairly cheap. but does the water pump come with a new gasket? sure..
  22. I just done one of my 97's a couple of months ago, and YES you will want to do it all at the same time, if you pay someone or do it yourself, lot of work and lot of time. my parts came from: http://www.store.partsdinosaur.com/page247.html everything fit perfect, and the car runs fantastic. NO LEAKS, NO ISSUES.
  23. for the water pump and timing belt 2nd gen http://www.lextreme.com/timing.htm never put a starter on one of these.
  24. you really need to sell that thing and get you a 95-97 dependable car.
  25. I have driven and looked at some 1998-2000 LS's and I believe the 95-97 are a stronger built car, I like the looks of the 98-00 front end, plus the steering wheel and the built in garage door opener, but I really believe the 95-97 cars are the cream of the crop as far as long life and high miles goes. well... what ever that is worth.. but you done good, just enjoy it, and 90LS400Lexus why dont you trade yours in?
