I already knew the 95-97 had bigger brake calipers than the 90-94's so I bought some 2000 GS wheels for my OWP 97...... but they hit the caliper also. I dont know what all they will fit, but I listed them on: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=60101 also Dallas Craigslist I figured the later models would fit backward models, BUT my 75 year old brain just got some new info..... still would like to replace the 430 type OEM wheels with something that looks better. Any clues?

How To Change 1992 Ls400 Hood Struts/lifts
billydpowell replied to Chheng's topic in 90 - 00 Lexus LS400
WARNING, they can bend your hood, I replaced mine and the hood had a "bow/arch" in it, about an inch high, so I got lexus lifts and had no more problems. just be careful.. -

Well we are about half way thru, got it all disassembled, will finish today. thanks for the photo and instruction..... using first and second generation "helps" http://www.lextreme.com/timing2.html http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/engine/timingbelt.html also please look at http://www.lextreme.com/timing.htm look at the last photo, the wording is: you can see on this pic that crankshaft is on 0 and camshaft marker is aligned with the mark on the engine. this is not right, the c/shaft is on "0", but you are looking at the right cam pulley, with the left cam maark on it and it is in the wrong position. am I missing something here?? please help...

So it will fit a 98 LS? If so I am very interested! yes, fits 95-2000 for sure. sorry, I sold it..

sometimes the switches will get oxidation in them on the contact points, restricting the voltage going to the motor. pull the rear switch out and see if this is your problem. I have not had a lexus switch apart, but have cleaned many others, sometimes just scraping them with a knife across the contact points. dont just use a test light, check the voltage. and also see if the window is sticking in the down position. good luck.

I just finished my 97 DWP LS, it didnt need a trans mount, the one I took out looked just like the new one. so I put it back in. I have only owned this one a few months and it looks like it has been taken care of....

first, does the master switch on the driver door operate it? and how about the switch on the rear door its self? do they work the same way??? if so it is probably the motor. I can tell by your question that you are not very mechanically inclined, so, probably the best/cheapest way is to go to a salvage yard and buy a switch for the back door, plug it in and see if it works, if not ask them if you can trade it in on the window motor.

Got a little bad news on my engine mounts: this came from MyBushings: Hi Billy, We are going to have to pass you a credit for the #9200 Lexus LS 400 engine mounts you ordered. We have just not been successful in locating engine mounts for your cars from our suppliers. You may be able to find some sellers online if you search around, but it seems that the prices being asked are quite a bit higher than the prices we were selling at. Because our suppliers are also talking of substantial increases in the future, we may stop carrying the #9200 engine mount in our inventory. I'm really sorry that we haven't been able to help you this time, but we hope that you will allow us to be of service at some future time. well, I guess thats that.

Thanks Jerry, looking forward to your post.. take some photos as you do it, some of us cant really read (hehehe) cheers
