  1. Rustybrick, How'd you like the ride in the first place........? Maybe the runflats are OK for you......
  2. Totally agree! JPI has helped LOC members for quite a while now and they are a good choice!!!
  3. 92lex, I agree a very dirtly throttle plate would cause rough iclle - but I think it'd have to be pretty bad to do it...... I agree to check the air / fuel filter :D If the air filter was really bad, does that make the fuel "starve" to compensate and keep correct mixture....? Can the MAF be faulty?
  4. Absolutely right on that one............ My 99LS listed for $57K, bought it after 4 year lease for $23K........ $34,000 total = $8500 a year in depreciation (if sold at list....) Depreciation is our friend before we buy........Now it is the enemy
  5. I'll add a "throttle body" clean to the mix............
  6. Whats the switch your reffering too? ← Yea.........I'd like to know that one :D
  7. I think you made the right move T13......... Stay in touch and good luck!!!
  8. It's every 90K............ 98LS......you are correct!!! Most excellent SRK..................
  9. Try another dealer......... Sounds like it can't hurt....... <_<

  11. I think you'l be more @ $55k........ But there are several 2004 LS members on board....... they'll be along......
  12. Can you beieve it...........Pedro DID have an out of body experience. (along with some major help from the Cardinals early on...........) Good for him! Now he can retire in style......... :D
  13. Steve, I've been watching the tach a little more closely......... I think is is shifting down but at very low rpms........ It definately "coasts" for a Long..............time in 5th gear.. Then around 20 mph or less is will shift down to 4th........15-10 mph to 3rd... etc, etc... The tach just barely bumps up.......about 50-100 rpms max......nearly unnoticeable!! I think most of this "gearing down" happens around 1000 rpms and that's why you don't feel much........ Smoooooth............ Sorry, no more hijacking of the thread 99
  14. Yes please 99lsguy. :D Would you also be interested in being a Knowledgebase Editor? ← Matthew, I'll be glad to help out.............. Gotta run.......I'll be back this afternoon to check in...........
  15. Lexls and LOC Mngmt/Mods, I've got some basic stuff for Gen III maintenance on MS Word Files. Procedures are very much like 92lex has documented but they are for 98-00 LS ; in case someone just wants the Gen III specific stuff and current photos of engine/components, etc. I agree they should stay on LOC first and foremost, as this forum inspired me to do these.....but I don't mind copies going to your site either, Lexls. THey have documentation for each photo and text on photographs as well.... PM me and I'll send them to you.... If they'll work.....Great! :D
  16. Yea.........I didn't want to put Hair Spray on the LS Seats.... :o :chairshot:
  17. I'll keep an eye on it........I know what you mean by the rpms "bumping up" as it kicks down to a lower gear. I have only noticed this a few time when I'm say: in a parking lot and only get up to 2nd gear or so.........then, while slowing down-- it will kick down to 1st at very slow speed. Usually, it just gradually falls with the speed of the car as you coast / slow down. So it makes sense....I'll be on it! The Dang LS Tranny is so smooth it's harder to tell after coasting to stop from on highway I got into the conversation with him due to the "delayed throttle" epidemic that everyone speaks of on the LS......The mechanic said it was due to this shifting procedure, and really a product of Emission's Control and gets Lower Emissions this way - another feather Lexus wanted in its cap.
  18. That's good stuff Denny Do you rotate / fold clay bar around to get a fresh side after each section of car.....?
  19. I know how to remove the plastice base of it.........the one piece that has a hole in the left side where the "interior dimming switch" is....... Take coat hanger wire or similar and make a 8" long piece with a little 1/2" hook at the end (90 degree). This should slip between the plexi and this top cover. Hook it and gently pull on each side and this top piece above the steering column will slide out. Then you could see if this plexi shield will just slide down and out or whatever...
