  1. I've heard a large percentage of people voted "against Bush" rather than "for Kerry"-- which is okay, I suppose. <_< It's the Judges in our country that determine so much of the very fabric of our society............I think there are some good ones, but sadly........there are many idiots at the top of the bench........ Teresa Heinz looked like she's been completed exhausted and dissappointed - she lost a little cash$$$$$$$$$$$$
  2. Those PS units are nortorius for leaking..........The design was changed in 98+ models for "supposedly" great improvement. We'll see........ I flushed my PS fluid out the first month I had my 99 LS. One reason they leak, I believe, is because the fluid isn't kept fresh like most every other fluid in the car. I'll flush it out every year now. We change are oil regulary, @ 30K - tranny, brake, coolant, diffy,.........so why not the PS fluid too....... Neglect is a major culprit :chairshot:
  3. So Unlisted, What did you get............???? I'm an LS guy all the way........it's just as quick, same performance, quieter ride, smoother ride, more room, etc................
  4. have someone else start the car while you watch.......that'll get you in the ballpark.
  5. I thought we did elect a worthwhile president............
  6. Right -O on that one Mike!!! I rarely take my LS on Highway trips. but I got 28 MPG once...so I believe it. 70 mph is absolutely "idling" for the LS - it feels like your just crawling I get 23 mpg everday - usual driving..... I do have a discrepancy in my computed mpg though...I always do the math myself and get about 1/2 mpg LESS than what the computer says....have you checked it this way??
  7. Hey, How's that 2004 Avalon ride compared to the LS........ smoothness, quietness, suspension, etc.... I know it has more interior room.......that Avalon is cavernous!!
  8. I live one mile from our Costco.........I need to pick up a few anyway Man - we spend a lot of money at that place Your guys are right on that CWB!! All it takes is one MF towel and that blade to dry my LS....
  9. Glad it worked!!! I forgot to tell you I would run the wipers and then turn off the ignition key when they were at the top of the "swipe" - to freeze them at that point. This way it won't rub against the hood / paint and you can move the wiper arm easily... Do this for the next time. The towel is a good idea though! You can get a "touch up paint pen" for the hood edge. Don't those little paint scratches & chips just bug ya - I've got my share! Minimal really, but I know where they all are Welcome to LOC!!!
  10. I just replaced mine......... the driver's side should have tab that can be flipped up.......then pull the entire assembly down and towards the hood...should come free. the smaller pass. side didn't have this tab - I just rotated the assembly a little and pulled down again - ...
  11. Denny - Man, did you ever hit the nail on the head!!! Don't we all notice every LS we see on the road.........
  12. I can't tell you the technical specs and such....... but I imagine they will fit = especially if they're Lexus OEM wheels..... Are you selling your old 98 5 spokes?......I need a spare..
  13. I got groceries today....... Pulled to the drive up so they can put the sacks in the trunk..... So I unlatched the trunk lid with the little finger latch on the Lower left dash area and heard the single "ping " sound.... Maybe that's where your short is coming from??
  14. There are a list of options that can be toggled on/off .......etc - thru the dealer or indy shop. They hook a handheld into the lower (under) left dash area and change settings...........C-Best codes I think?? such as the audible sound for "low fuel", etc.... If it is something like this, non essential, they can turn it off for $30 or so... Try unlatching your seatbelt while in the neighborhood (in a safe spot)...to see if that's the short.........Just an idea. Or.....a toggle push in - on one of the doors is loose........and rattles on the bumps, causing the "ping"........
  15. The guys above have great advice for you...... I only have driven 95,97 and 99 LS's so here's my point of view: If you're fairly tall 6-1 +................you'lll love the LS - although headroom isn't the best (like Blake says :D ), and if you like feeling good about interior room for your friends....the LS will be impressive. You won't hear the engine as you drive :D The wheelbase is 112 inches to get a good ride and suspension is nice. Be aware: Your PS system is suspect to leaks and failure, the front suspension should have been serviced/replaced by now, the LCD's on the interior are shot. Otherwise, look for everything else just like you would for a 11+ year old car. If you don't DIY, you could have a tremendous $$$ sign awaiting you for repairs. I think you can find a solid LS with good service records for $5K :D
  16. KC lexus dealer lists the throttle body cleaning as part of their 60K service..... I did most all of it this summer but didn't get to the throttle body.........so I'll give it a quick touch up!! Thanks!!
  17. That's what I want to do to the LS......but didn't want to take everything apart. Sounds like this will work just fine!!! Besides, that's all the dealer does
  18. check out lexls.com or lexextreme.com :D
  19. That's why those lug nuts get pretty toasty if your changing a flat during a road trip Keep a pair of gloves in the trunk just for that......and a torque wrench
