  1. XM and an iPod are two things I would like to add to my audio system. I love my car but since it is a 1998 it is a little dated in electronics. If either of you try this product, please post the results. I am very interested.
  2. The Avalon rides just as well as the LS.
  3. My LS has the anti-pinch feature on the windows. If I raise the driver's side window, then it acts like something is caught and will stop and reverse. The window sounds normal when raising and you can hold the switch all the way up and it will completely close. The dealership says I need a new regulator and motor. $700 bucks!!! I maybe can see the regulator but the motor seems fine to me. Any suggestions on what can cause this problem? I am getting the feeling that they are just replacing parts and not doing any real diagnosis.
  4. The Avalon is a very nice car. It is actually roomier than the LS. It is not as quiet, doesn't have the power, and the finish is just a step below the LS but considering you can get in new one for $30,000 and a new LS is $60,000 you can see why it is so popular.
  5. A small black button under the steering column. Unlabled, but clearly factory as it is not cut into the plastic but molded. Here is the really odd thing. It is not referenced in the owner's manual.
  6. If I replace them, I will sell the old ones.
  7. I have a 1998 LS400 and would like to buy a set of the five spoke, 2005, 18inch wheels. I know all the things to consider when going to a "plus 2" wheel but would like to know if there are any other impediments. Number of lugs, offset, and what not. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  8. Thanks for the advice. I discovered a switch under the dash that enables the front cigarette lighter. It works fine now.
  9. I just purchased my first Lexus, a 1998 LS 400. A friend at work purchased a 2005 430 and he sold me his old one. It is very clean with only 34,000 miles. However, I have one small problem. The front cigarette lighter will not work. I have checked the fuse and it is intact. All other electrics on the car operate fine. Any suggestions? Also, can anyone recommend a parts supplier on the internet? My local dealer is going to be expensive. Thank you.
