  1. Please keep us posted. I am very interested in buying new tires for my 430
  2. Hi, I have the 2005 SC430 and came with the nav and all. The phone is great (besides for some of the motorola limitations with bluetooth). A couple questions: (1) Can I set it so that I can use the dial pad or 1 touch dial feature while the car is in motion? (2) I often use the GPS to get to places I have never been to. But while I am using the phone that is integrated with the nav system, it won't continue to show the GPS navigation. So I often have to call the person back after I know I have 5 minutes or so of no turns to chat. Any idea on how to have both going? Thanks.
  3. I should add, I have about 1,300 miles on my SC430 2005 model with run flats. I was expecting a lot worse and I was very worried before getting my car. To be honest, the ride is pretty good, as compared to what people are saying. It is a little rough on pot holes, nothing like the ES 2004. But it is a sporty car. I also heard the older 430's tires would blow up as soon as they hit a pot hole. I know someone with a 430 from 03 and he had to replace those tires a bunch of times, whenever it hit a pot hole or rough edge. Where I am from, lots of pot holes due to snow all the time (I know, why do I have a car like this when it snows so much). I hit many pot holes and the tires are just fine. I had to fill them up with about 10 seconds of air the day after it hit 5 degrees, the air pressure light went on. They looked fine, but the light said put air in it (I am told cold air does that to tires). Anyway, the run flats are not that bad. I was strongly considering replacing them. But with a 3.5 year lease, I don't see a reason to yet. Can't wait for it to warm up so I can drive around with the top down . I love this car.
  4. Premium it is. Just asking. Thanks for your feedback. :)
  5. I just got my SC430 2005 and it says that you should put premium gas in it. I did not buy the car, I am leasing it for 3.5 years. Do I really need to spend the extra 30 cents per gallon on premium or the car will work fine for the 3.5 years I own it? Thanks.
  6. "16" OEM wheels with Dunlop SP all season"?
  7. So which exact model should i buy? size, etc.? Thanks.
  8. I just got my SC430 2005 (3.5 year lease) and I wanted to know which tires you recommend I should use to swap out the run flats. The dealer told me the car only comes with run flats and that they are ok tires. I experience everything mentioned in this thread and I think I would like to replace the tires now, instead of mid way in my lease. I really know nothing about tires and I would like to buy tires that work well for all year round. I am in NY and we do get snow in the winter. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks again.
  9. What are others getting in terms of miles per gallon on the new SC430 2005?
  10. I picked it up. Damn its a sweet car. Its raining like crazy here, but the handling was good. I did not fly down the roads, because I am in 'baby mode' with the car. I did notice it is not as smooth as the ES. But I need to see how it handles when its not so wet and dark outside. Really nice car.
  11. Thanks, I will follow up here later. :chairshot:
  12. I am going to pick up the car in 3 hours. I just wanted to make sure I tell the dealer everything before I sign on the final dotted line. I spoke with him about the tires, he said I can buy my own tires but they will run around 1k. He said that these are the only tires that Lexus currently makes for the car. Since this is my first car like this, I am coming from an Accord, I doubt there will be a problem with the drive. :) He said, the people that notice, are those who drove other Lexus's or BMWs, and Mercedes.
  13. They wont give me anything else but run flat tires.
