I had turkey, honey baked ham, mashed potatoes, home made noodles (I made them :D ), corn casserole, green beans, rolls, salad, brownies, apple pie, chocolate cheescake, raspberry tea, sweet tea and.........I guess that's all Go LOC!!!!

Eric, I wouldn't put any slick 50 in it......... Just good brand of oil ( you don't need syn.....although I use MObil one) and change every 4K. 6 qts and a filter every change. 2-3 qrts Toyota T-IV tranny fluid - use only toyota T-IV 2 qrts GL-5 gear oil 80-90 wt for diffy I would use ramps instead of those "jacks".......much safer and easy to drive up on ....and away you go . Got mine from autozone...they are called "rhino ramps" and are a "low angled" ramp - very nice. I highly reccommend them. I guess you do neet the stands for brake/rotor / suspension work though.... :D Standard set of metric sockets and wrenches. 3/8" drive torque wrench & a 10mm hex drive (3/8") socket for the diffy will do 99% of the work you need. A bigger 1/2 " torque wrench is handy for wheels (79 ft lbs)

original toyota Dex III fluid actually looks clearish / brownish ...like motor oil. Any flushes since the factory would probably be reddish as is most Dex III nowadays.....

Hammo, I just changed the arm & blade assembly as a whole..... I don't know if you can only get the blade out...well, you can - but its tricky

Eric, That $2k a year would be from dealer work....... You are correct - It won't cost that much at all for DIY.... Fluids, filters, and such will only run you $200/year to keep it ultimate shape. Yearly stuff I do: 2-3 oil changes/filter 1-2 transmission pan drain/refill 1 differential fluid drain/refill air filter Brake fluid change/refill/bleed Coolant change PS fluid flush/refill

Should all be in the owners manual....... 5k - oil changes 30K tranny pan drains 90k timing belt, water pump...+ extras ............$1500 @ dealer.

Eric, YEs,,, WP is for water pump....sorry.... The pump is changed with the timing belt every 90k along with with plugs and a lot of stuff.. usually $1200+ service @ lexus :whistles: That and the PS pump & rack assembly..(another $2K @ lexus) - and the front suspension work(ball joints, etc - $800) and you're in pretty good shape. IF you can find and LS with these recent services, you should be good to go for another 80-100K...............be aware you may still spend $2k a year in upkeep for perfect running LS.

Your PS fluid could be dirty and therefore clogging the line a little... There is a PS solenoid screen that can clog and cause this problem and also leaks in the system by increasing the "already" high pressure lines..... Run a search on PS leaks, PS solenoid, etc.... and you'll get a ton of info...

Yes, I would agree to go with the 94......... Mileage..... around 150K is certainly not worn out by any means. Maintenance is crucial for any vehicle - and the LS will hold up a long time with solid service. As you probably know - the PS pump & rack (&hoses) , front suspension parts (Ball joints, struts, strut bar & bushings), Brak pads and rotors, and a timing belt /\WP or two should probably have been replaced by now. If this is so, then you will be okay for another 100K....

Brent, Welcom to LOC!!! That's a fair price - $5k under MSRP like SW had mentioned before.... Good for everyone What a vechicle!!!! - the LS is quite a machine.....especially your model. The interior is beautiful and spacious, quiet - smooth ride... It is a car that gracefully does its job very very well day in and day out... Congrats!!!

I bet it is pretty sweet......... I will check it out if I every make it down to LR!!! That stuff is really worth it - our country's history and such....

Craig, silver is absolutely right..... worn ball joints usually mean you kinda "jerk" or correct the line of the car...it then slowly goes off line and you have to "jerk" it again... Wandering is a true sign of worn ball joints

Agree that's 240,000 miles - fuel filter is usually changed every 60k /5 yrs... Did you mean the filter in the first place?

I agree with that one too......... I thought the screen looked too much like "Asteroids" or something....I didn't trust the screen would look good after a few years.....just My Opinion So I skipped it and like the looks of the stereo/ac on the traditional (and magnificent) LS dash..

Bob, I was going to mention that I do keep the front edge of the seat a little lower like you just mention......I don't have much trouble at all. Although they're not just "super cushy"..... I"d say average comfort.... Like Blake, I don't use that lumbar support at all.........I"ve never liked it...

Yea.......I got those HID's....they're awesome. I don't have the Navi though. I almost bought a 98 that had the combo....it was silver w/89k miles.......probably should have snagged that one... When I drive my wife's Sequoia, I'm always thinking the lights are too yellow and weak ---cause I'm used to the HID's I agree the concept car was a little too.......out there........... :o

Look at the bright side: If it IS the new LS there'll be lots of cherry LS430s and LS400s on the market, as those who have to have the newest dump their older, classier vehicles. And we get to buy them cheap. B) ← I forgot about that Those new body styles certainly mean Big Depreciation for us!!!! I'm all over it.........maybe two LS's for me :D

I'm pretty sure the Nav is a HD system....only updates from the dealer.. approx $300 - the latest update did come out this year Like silvermate said.......what a deal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 99LS with 18K - that is just crazy talk I'd change every fluid on that puppy :D
