  1. may b the systemis still clogged? did you check rear mufflers? may be particles of converter are stuck in there block the exaust gas
  2. just tried www.newlexusparts.com and it seems to be working just fine for me, may b it was temp down so try again.
  3. its a hard question to eb honest with you, it all depends on how you like your music. i think 5 and 1/4 speakers will do but i'm not sure. there has been couple of threads on speaker replacement. just search for it. i personally would recommend pioneer brand for speakers and MTX or rockford for the sub. ive used this mix in couple of my previous cars and i was happy.
  4. nah, this is called spinning and if you do it in the reasonable amount should not do any harm.it happens to me to and i enjoy giving some extra acceleration on a rainy or snowy road to give my car a lil slide. but i do it on an empty parking lot. just dont rape your car, know its limits and everything will be fine.
  5. www.alldatadiy.com will have 95% COMPLETE lexus repair manual just for 25$ a year and its been a great help for me. cheap OEM parts from toyota you can get at www.newlexusparts.com if you didnt find some info in alldata you can always ask here and people will provide this info to you. welcome to the club and enjoy your stay. ;)
  6. well let me start with simple suggestion: LS is not the proper car for this kind of stuff and neither is stock GS. if you do neutral drop like you describe you will have yo do expensive transmission rebuild after couple of tries. ive seen people pickin up transmission planetary gears after they tried this. also bearings in your shaft bearings might give up as well. your car is pretty old and you dont know what kind of maintanence it had and what parts were changed so in your place i would not risk it. theoretically yes, you can do burn out but not to the point then your tires catch fire. i dont know what kind of burnout you have to do for your tires to catch fire. in my experince when people go to racing track the do a lil burn out on a special place with lots of spilled water just to heat up the tire rubber for better traction during race. but DONT DO IT AT HOME on ur car otherwise you will have to pay a lot of $ for some expensive repairs......
  7. yeah just like mine did, i just dont remember if it was blinking or was just on. disconnect the battery for min and do the test i told u
  8. nah, i dont think so it means that ur system was reset. looks like a power problem. disconnect the battery and then connect it back and turn the ignition on and check the light, if its gonna do same thing then its a power problem, if not then it might be ur compressor. there is a way to get an error code on the temp LCD, i just forgot the sequence.
  9. i have both 04 accord and 03 camry in my family but my LS is da best and looks much better on the driveway:) even 91 legend looks much better then accord and camry:)
  10. why would it leak only when he floors it?
  11. check tranny mounts as well and first thing you should check is TIRE BALANCE. make sure you do this b4 you will start any expensive repair. i had this problem on the same car is ur and it turned out that those car are very sensitive to the tire balance which was the cause in my case. next probable cause is engine and tranny mounts. have them checkedif vibration will still be there after you balance ALL your tired each one on the BOTH sides.
  12. i had this problem and i still do and as it turned out to be just a vapor. the thing is that when u floor it ur cats and exasut system heat up immediately all the condesation evaporizes takin some soot from the system and concerning its big size that can hold a lot of condensation. i noticed it a while ago and i had a thread here b4 regarding this issue and it turned out that a lot of people noticed this and investigated this problem. if ur liquid levels are ok then u have nothing to worry about. i cant tell u the same about those oil stains :( never had this problem
  13. liquids dont expand, they evaporate:) the reason why we use those coolant fluids is not only that it has low freezin temp but also coz it has high boiling temp plus their heat capacity is pretty big comparing to regular water.
  14. hmm this is strange, i had this smokin trail couple of times when i was flooring it, but it turned out to be just vapors and some soot from exaust
  15. i deal with it every day, in new york lexus=money, and it feels pretty nice to be honest with u:)i dont think that this is a problem, this is a benefit:) the problem with all this luxury brands is that no matter how old the car is and how many miles it got its still an expensive luxury car coz it looks like it.
  16. exactly, my friend does this for a living nad he has parking lot here in brooklyn. and he makes around 2-3k on each luxury car that he is selling from the lot.
  17. You go to a dollar store= most likely you are going to get dollar store quality You go to an auction= most likely you are going to get........ you get the point! no.. not really. ive been buying cars at the auction for a while now, and if you know cars at least a little bit its really hard not to notice a bad car.
  18. dont mind those kbb prices, they are way over the real price.i go to the auctions on a regular basis and ive seen those LS s go for the price i mentioned above. 8k is the top and since repairs will cost more due to the frame damage and not only cosmeticaldamage it will be a total lost. you might get that kbb value from all state. i have allstate and my car costs 14200 according to their estimate.
  19. kyb seems to be the OEM struts for toyota while bilstein are good if you wanna drop ur car and use coilovers. if you wanna keep original ride quality i would recommend to stick with OEM toyota parts.
  20. i rememebr some1 had this problem b4 here and it turned out to be a air bubble somewhere inside, another complete flush solved the issue. but if your temp is constant then u have nothin to worry about.
  21. dont fix it, there is a frame damage to the car so it will never be the same anymore:( just take the money from the insurance company, it should be around 7k +-1k
  22. what i would recommend to do is to get the tester and test the wires while your door panel is removed. disconnect wires from the amp and check if you have continuity in all of them. it will make ur life easier.
