  1. last time i did 1/4 mile in my car i scored 15.6 for the quarter mile and 8.1 for the 0-60. but i didnt remove the backseat and sparetire and my tank was almost full.
  2. great news guys, in a year or 2 we all will witness appearance of the Lexus LS500GT hybrid car.! it will have 400 hp 5.0 V8 engine and 200 hp electric motor totaling 600 hp for the car. lexus will aim this car to the sports luxury market to compete with amg. GS 350 GT hybrid will also be available a year b4 the LS. Article HERE
  3. what does rack has to do with the brake lights? check in the independent shop about the rack issue b4 paying those big bux in the dealership
  4. i dont have snow option as wel, just normal and power for ect
  5. strange, i thought it came as standard for those years. mine has this trac button on the upper left corner of the wooden part next to the ashtray
  6. yeah definetly smth wrong with the master cylinder. my brakes are really hard. there is no way i can drive through them. try to bleed them first to make sure there is no air in the system then change the bads but make sure you will not forget the shims otherwise the will be really squeaky.
  7. in my area despite the fact that i have a garage the biggest pleaseure of the day is when i go to the garage and see the car still there. i dont like ti park on the street coz couple of scratches on bumper and dents on the doors are guaranteed, or some1 will just key up my car for fun or still those chrome rims. people suck!
  8. did mine myself at 125k, one of the t-belt bulley bearing has gone bad
  9. if moisture will get into distributor you will get a weak spark on all cylinders thug gettin low RPMs and engine might die at idle rpms. been there:)
  10. well i installed thjose denso iridum plugs because couple of trusted shops and fellow lexus and supra drivers recommended them. i did 10k on those spakr plugs and so far so good. all of them use denso iridium plugs and none of them had any trouble. you cannot compare bosch cheap products with the original japanese denso plugs that go at the warehouse for at least 8$ a plug. i have them in my both cars and i love them perfomancewise.
  11. hey guys, as far ai know you have to terminate the power for couple of mins to resent the computer and then it will take 40 first trips to learn about your driving habits. during those 40 first trips ECM is in the learning mode and adjusts the fuel usage and shifting requirments
  12. there are better plugs onthe market now, Iridium plugs from Denso, since Denso is OEM supplier for toyota and those IK-20 plugs are the best from them i think they are the best outthere for the stock engines.
  13. the full name of the system is progressive power system so it adjusts to the speed you are driving so you have to apply the same force always. jimbostar in your case it looks almost normal but if you want to make it always equal then check the solenoind in the rack, this is the part that is responsible for this.
  14. ECM logic is built on the 2 trip detection, so if it happens 2 times lights will come back and in ur case it will:)
  15. random misfire and misfire in cylinders 7 and 8, might be a lot of reasons, spark plugs, incorrect voltage from ECM, injectors and injector injection and fuel pressure. go to good mechanic in ur area, dont go to the dealer
  16. not gas tank but some of your elecectronic parts are gettin wet. might be sensors in the hood compartment or your ECUs, dont reset the lights but the error code and then you will know what part is getting wet.
  17. nope, it wont, at least it didnt in my case but performance improved.
  18. well sometimes it needs to be done! plugs burn out completely after 60k miles and wires needs to be changed every 120k as well as rotors and caps and timing belt. these cars will last forever if properly maintained.
  19. you have to remove the seat to get to the amp. i did it couple of times and its only 4 screws to take it out. i also suggested that connectors might be the problem since there is no hissin from speakers. what i think there might be a shortage somewhere and overload cirquit on the amp turns right channels off to prevent damage to the amp and then it puts em back on when it dissapears. or it might be just a loose connector. those dealers like to "think big" and to change whole thing ignore those small details. i'm never going to the dealer again.
  20. well if there is no hiss then check the cables. make sure you chek for hissing when the volume is high. just put a tepe with no record and let it play for a while and chekc those right speakers to make sure there is no hiss when they are off.
  21. there was a post like this couple of month ago but it was lost in the crash, but i think some1 saved it so if you are lucky he will read this post and give you the info. it was pretty detailed and even had sources where to get replacement parts.
  22. well you have to get error codes and then it will be clear what is going on. just give us error codes and we will tell you how to troubleshoot the problem if your mechanic will not know. as of now its really hard to pinpoint the exact problem. our car is OBDII compliant so it would be no problem to get codes from the car. just make sure your mechanic will get those codes out before doing any repairs. your car is smart enuff to tell you what is wrong with it.
  23. this used to be a common businnes here in brooklyn to get $$ from insurance companies, now FBI is investigating lots of people and a lot of themare in the jail and insurance here is sky high.
  24. i dont think that water and moisture can get under the passender seat unless some1 specifiaclly spilled smth on the amp. amp is located ABOVE the carpet and if there is any water you will also see it on the carpet under your legs. i have a 96 LS and i had trouble with my amp and what happend was that it died after steam cleaning si i just got 800$ from those guys for my new amp:)
