  1. does a new changer cost 400 from factory?
  2. you might want to check if your car is correctly in gear when cars get old the shifter begins to have a lot of play. if thats not the case then im guessing the transmision is going and needs to be fixed.
  3. the only "speciallity" tool i guess would be snap ring pliers. i think you can do it on car just as long as you can get the snap ring off which is a little tricky when you cant see it. i did mine while i was redoing my whole system so the compressor was out. try to avoid disconecting the compressor from the gas lines because you need a recharge if you do and depressurisation might cause problems. the last time i did this was about 4 months ago on my previa van on the car. one thing to be carefull about is that there are shim washers that you need to reuse from the old clutch because the new one doesnt come with them. dont loose them, ithink they are under the first plate you take off. if you have any other Q`s just ask im happy to help
  4. when there is a price differenc like that i usually buy the more expensive ones because they cost more for a reason right? i may be wrong but i can say mine cost more :P do you feel a difference in performance at all???
  5. i use air brushes too on spot repair its kind of fun i found that even if its spot repair and the color is a little off you can feather the color out to kind of blend the color so that it is less noticable and to finish things off do a very thidk clear coat if you do it right you dont have to buff and if you screw up you have lots of clear to sand and buff!!! i use my gun for big stuff like doing a whole hood i just go down to napa and get thir paints its a little mor convinient for me.
  6. if the tundra is a 4 litre i believe that they use the 1uzfe block in anycase all toyota lexus are built with the same tolerences( the key to building the indestructable tank ) if its like a 4.7 litre than its might be somewhere around the 3uzfe but it might just have its own case
  7. thats good maybe ill do that to one of my cars if the system goes out and i feel lazy
  8. i know its more expensive but what about the convinience factor if you dont like the ride hight you have to change springs and how much is that going to cost not to mention the extra time it takes to change springs compared to just spinning adjusters
  9. i think that the second cup holder is a bad idea.even if you dont spill your drink on to the $5000 audio controlls some pther passenger might and even the pespiration off of the cup could damage expensive electronics. i put my cell phone in that slot it fits very snug and stays in even at full acceleration but its your car so do what you want :P
  10. you didnt get the cold stuff on your hand did you? did your a/c hold??
  11. i got that problem so i went and got a refurbished system for ithink it was@5-600 bucks@and its alll good now cdr`s skip from now and then on big bumps but its all good
  12. why not just get some coilovers that are hight adjustable so yon go higher if you start to hit things or want to go even lower
  13. hey does this mean your going to do the timing belt your self???
  14. i think your high pitched noise is coming from the compressor clutch. i changed mine and $200 later it sounds like new...silent!
  15. it might be that your old strut just doesnt hold all the air after you park. so it falls a little is your garage or driveway flat? there are sensors i think, that try to keep the car level. my one does that when parked on uneaven places like in my driveway i have a slant under my left rear tire so the left suspension is extended about two inches more than my right but the car stays level
  16. do you have a gun or do you plan to use the rattle can? how did you paint it originaly???
  17. how much were the ND plugs compared to the NGK? do you feel a difference??
  18. i had the sam problem but i just changed the speakers and it was all good and ky3ts its possible that the cone ripped on your speakers so it will make slight noise at a high volume try and take a look
  19. there are usually two books for every lexus model vol. 2 usually has the electronics stuff in it but its good to check with the dealer. and if you only plan to do the electronics stuff you only need that one and you can get away with about $100+ and if you are planning on engine work then you need vol. 1 but in any case dont waste your time with chiltons manuals and things like that. just get the factory manual
  20. unfortunately i live in hawaii unless you want to pay for shipping ;)
  21. you have a 400 right? i forgot exactly where but it should be on some where fairly visible like in between the two distributors like you say i think thats the one. the misc.# is the milage and date that it was changed at. this sticker only comes with the timing belt from the dealer. if it was changed somewhere else that means that they got an aftermarket belt
  22. i think ND came out with them first a few years back. i remember seeing an ad in a dealership in japan. but as far as which company i think ND is oem to lexus so i would use them
  23. wow its 100+ man you must die if your car doesnt have a/c :o well i guess newer cars can cool alot better even with 134. i did a conversion to my 86 toy cressida and it was ok. no problem at night but during the day it took a while to cool down
  24. why doesnt it fit? how big was your old sub?, is something hitting the new woofer to prevent it from hitting?
  25. take it to lexus and tell them not to fix it but to tell you whats wrong. it might cost some money but at least from there you can tell if you kan fix it or if they have to do it
