  2. so he has the 2jz? well i want to eventually do that when i get a SC in a 5speed possibly a 97
  3. well if the engine doesnt die out and if theres no extra vibration you can feel than whats the problem it uses less gas right?
  4. dont you wish you could draw cars like that
  5. i think it came out with the new LS430 so mayge from there on the GS430`s and stuff came with it but not in 99

    Tune Up

you should do it all a once so you dont need to take off all that stuff again and if the radiator is out you will have a lot more space to work
  7. dont be afraid as long as you keep all electricals out of the rain and so on it will be fine just remember to wait 20 seconds before you work on the car like taking off the battery
  8. the us 2jz has a claimed out put of about 340hp and i think thats better than the japanese goverment limited 280 even if its twin turbo
  9. the 1jzgte is a japan market motor and i think australia too but in the states the supra comes with the 2jzgte the 1 jz is a 2.5litre and the 2jz is a 3.0litre the 1 jz looks almost identical to the 2jz but is shoter on the top of the block cus less displacement. the reason why we cant just stick supra bolt ons on get an easy 500hp is cus the compression ratio is different and the head porting is different and the intake manifold is different. meaning the whole head is different. even the head gasket.
  10. $1600 seems right if you change everysingle tentioner and bearing and wires and belt and waterpump on the front of the engine. but if you only replace what is needed like the timing belt tentioner bearings and such you can get away at about $800 like VMF said take a look at what he bought seems about right unless you pullies are making noise
  11. a company called C`s in japan makes cams and a stroker kit making the bore and stroke a square 92mm. the cams are about $3000 and the stroker kit is close to $9000 so i would just super charge or turbo the thing if i were to stroke it cus they only claim 330hp and 45kg of tourque whatever that is in footpounds
  12. they will fit like a glove but what about the other side?
  13. if your going to remove the trans oil pan throw in one or two more magnets just for the hell of it because it does catch some gunk that doesnt look good for the trans :o
  14. well in japan we are small and short compared to the american 6 footers
  15. as for rebuilt what has happened? was there a complete overhaul? if so then that would be good but rebuilt can mean a lot of things.
  16. you said this happens at the same place right by your house right? have your brakes been changed? was it at a dealer if it was changed? if it wasnt its possible that they put a hot pad on meaning that the breaks dont work well when its cold but once it heats up a little its fine. in anycase if your brakes were worked on then theres a chance that there is air in the system so get it checked as awj says
  17. i think i used a silicone gasket sealent sold at your local car parts store and that works great i have used it on many cars and it works great! just make sure that the surface is really clean and remember that you dont need that much sealant just enough to fill in the grooves and a very thin above that toomuch will result in a mess and a possible contamination of your cooling system with silicon chunks. have fun
  18. like you said this isnt a touring car seat so it wont hold you like a recaro. but if you dont like that you slide around but still want leather seats than try find someone with an SC and ride in it there is a little more side support but i dont know if it will fit but worh a try go to a junk yard and find one. or buy some $2000 recaro leather seats reinforced with carbon kevlar
  19. you can find seats at a junk yard
  20. well the parts are small so i dont think its that big of a deal to repaint little pannels like that
  21. when my trac. light wuldnt turn off on my LS400 it was the fuse i couldnt figure it out and so i took it to the dealer and got charged about90 bucks labor for a $2.50 part well thats my story but since you already checked your fuse well im all out of answers. i didnt know the SC has traction controll. i i have pulled the rear out on some wet days for some fun around corners on my SC400 lots of wheel spin loads of adrenalin :P
  22. any rotating bearing and or pully, wires, cam cover seals waterpump and all new radiator. cost me about $1500 just in parts but it ran so smooth after that it was like new :) hey when you take everything appart be careful of rubber grommets that hold wires on to plastic parts sometimes they are hard to put on and take off and also when you get to pulling off the water pump you really need to pull because that thing is stuckon there with some ultra sticky stuff well good luck! :P
  23. is it the curly antenna? yea you can use it to mix your drinks
