  1. lsd's locking have to do with weather the power is on or off, not if you are turning or not.
  2. the gas struts are either working or out of gas so well you will have a sore arm and busted results lexus offers 3 different kinds of trunk struts depending whether you have a wing or not and the other has to do with what kind of mounting it has
  3. not much you can do to preserve rubber other than to keep it out of the sun and extreme temps. age will decay rubber parts.
  4. oh and one more thing 1jz owners opt for a 2jz bottom end so the trans definitely fits
  5. i assume so because the bottom end is almost the same just a bit shorter in hight
  6. the trans mount was about $60 i think and i dont remember how much the motor mounts were...maybe in the area of 100bucks a piece?but it is worth every penny if you even feel vibration in you LS. trans mount is easy to change, but the motor mount takes time and unless its on a lift you need to take the rack off (i took the rack off when i changed mine)
  7. if it were raining here i would feel like a kid (while going sideways ) blacksc4: shifting later doesnt always mean moare performance it just means that the motor is more in the power band and will be punchier. the power mode also makes the tranny downshift more easily. I dont really know anything about stall speed so well i cant say anything about that. i wish the power mode made the trans shift like a BMW in sport mode, it holds all of the gears around 3-4k rpm keeping it in a nice powerband of power, its almost like driving a manual but no extra work.
  8. just buy the 97+ body parts, the front bumper is $250 side skirts are $250 each from the dealer, i dont know how much the rear stuffs are
  9. any FR car can out Uturn a FF just spin the rear tires and turn
  10. front lower suspension arm bushings go, and the power switch just makes the trans shift later. nothing to do with power, but apparently it does eat a bit more gas but i never use it
  11. those swaybars are tunable too there are 3 different positions to put the swaybar in(if you already didnt know) so you dont really need to take too much on and off
  12. its nice when there is so much space in front, oh did i say holy sh t
  13. danger :o the air bag is going to go off while your driving!!! just kidding i had the same problem not sure what it is but it went away. i hear you are supposed to change the airbag every10 years
  14. sway bars make your car seem to handle because of less roll and less roll is good but stiffer swaybars mean less traction its all about a balance. well before i get in to suspension tuning i will stop and say tell us how its feels when its in there i am interested, and do the supra sways fit? or no?
  15. you gonna put it on an LS? its looks good on the LS (its good that they give you pictures) im not to sure on the es though
  16. its fairly simple. get the front of the car on jacks or on ramps so you can crawl under then use a jack and a piece of wood to raise the trans a bit then loosen the 4 nuts (or bolts i dont remember) then the 4 bolts to take the trans cross memeber off then just another 4 bolts or so to take the mount off the trans, and well slap it back together the way you took it off. good luck!
  17. just the trans is different between the auto and the manual is the same. oh and my bad lexual i didnt read your box carefully
  18. if you have the money try look in to Volk gt-c's or gt-7's those are my favorites. they are 5 spoke and 7 spokes. they will run you a good $2000 but well hey you can get copies for half the price.
  19. i know there is an easier way to do this(and i forgot) but well try take the bulb out and leave the hood open(best on a sunny day)
  20. nice now your pimpin VMF style it must have been really cheap haveing so many miles on it. if you dont mind me askin how much did you get it for??
  21. you should try and ask the guy if its really the 2jz he is selling and buy it because its so cheap and you can mess around with it, like build it
  22. at first it looks like it came off a 5 speed but if you look closer only two of those pictures are of the jz and the others are of a honda D series motor. whats this guy trying to pull?
