  1. this is rebuild on an SC400 ps pump. but this proceedure should work for most every model. the only speciality tools needed are a slide hammer, snap-ring pliers, and a press, but not absolutely neccisary, meaning you can get away with out using it, but it would be better if you could. assuming that you know how to get the pump out put it on a vise
  2. what i mean is, does anyone know about the wiring. i know that they will both jsut drop in
  3. well you will hear alot of different opinions about suspension. but its best to get an adjustable dampening type. and i think the 300 is stiffer than a 400 so i think when you put suspension on a 300 its not that bad. my friend has tein flexes on his and he said that its still smooth but maybe a bit bumpier because of the spring rate. but that depends on the setting.
  4. which fan? the fan that is on the engine spins proprotionaly to the engine, i dont know about the electric fans though
  5. you will have to find one at a junk yard or ebay or somthing. or you can see if another amp is compatible with the system and go with an aftermarket.
  6. depends on how many hours the mechanic took looks like 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours of work and well it looks right for a mechanics bill.
  7. since we are on the subject does anyone know where there is info on wiring for doing the 1j swap? i have Dr. Phils book on the 2j.
  8. when i changed my mounts on my LS400 i didnt disconnect anything but when i put it back together powersteering hoses blew because the hoses become hard and brittle with ps fluid and age. so be ready to change those. as a matter fact just go ahead and get those.
  9. cheap carbon hoods are not something that should be bought because they are cheap for a reason. just like cheap cars. anyway just spend the extra couple hundred bucks and get a good quality one and you wont be sorry.
  10. try look for places that recycle wheels or those places that exchange your old rims for chrome rims. or you can try ebay
  11. i'll take the credit for suggesting motor mounts because it changed my life you should think about changing the tranny mount too. its only like 50 bucks. that should get rid of any other small vibrations.
  12. i might of heard that japanese car bodies are plated with something to prevent rust and well i guess its kind of like chrome plating but less the bling sort of an anti rust plating... well thats all
  13. that is a thought then you would have turbo power but it will be right hand drive
  14. i am not aware of anyone who makes clear lights for the SC and is this a want or a need item because if your going HID it looks fine with the stock head lamps.
  15. wow! a cut torch might be a bit overkill. try a hole saw and maybe a 90 degree adapter. trannies go for about a grand depending where you look. you should ask around some supra forums because they upgrade to the 6 speed from the 5 speed.
  16. build that motor! get forged pistons and change out these rods. they are thinner than honda rods :o get some TT rods or something. and when its all back together get the thing tuned right.
  17. well if your getting it alligned then you might as well get all 4 shocks changed. the shocks it self are only like 60 bucks right? so no biggie for 2 more
  18. i guess drive the car and see if the engine is smooth and you should not feel vibration also take a look at the underside of the car to see if there is any rust from salt from snow. (it snows in Austria right? ) and try and look at service reports and see if the car has been serviced. otherwise there is nothing special to look at just like buying anyother car. viel Gluck!
  19. must be hard to see out the windshield. looks like its going to fly
  20. if the interior is black then i would be interested.
  21. how do you know your rears arent working?
  22. if its a copper gasket then you can re-use it. the good thing about copper is that you can heat it up and anneal it so that it becomes soft again. just put a propane torch to it and that should do the trick.
