  1. nno fair bean you already have a 1j
  2. yea i bet with the same boost the 1uz would make more power than a 2jz.........more displacement, 2 more cylinders you know ;)
  3. the stuff that comes on the car seems to be like a hot glue but all yellow and like10 years old i would bet that it would work though
  4. yea keep friends with tools around but always return it ;) and if you ruin it replace it. i have a shop that im a regular at they let me use some of the oddball toos that i dont have. :D
  5. changing the seals is not easy job without the right tools. i did it a while ago on my first gen and well i had to machine out some punches to drive the seals in and out. a rack rebuild kit is available from the dealer but if your not up to the job then buying the rebuilt one is probably better, best would be if you just bought a new one from the dealer.
  6. you dont have to go as far as dropping it but you have to take it off the mounts which is like 4 bolts then you can push it away far enough to get the bolt out. i did this a couple months ago.
  7. the thing with super glue is that most of the conventional stuff is very thin and will flow away without sticking too much to both sides , and on top of that its really brittle. so use that 3M stuff or like shoe goo or something thats kind of impact absorbant. but alot of these glues smell really bad so you need to give it a good overnighter to dry, and maybe a bit more to completly get the smell away.
  8. i think you should use air suspension since you have it. its kind of a waste to go to conventional struts or even these hydraulic units.
  9. awj...didnt you say something about being able to trick the ecu so you can run a manual trans? that could be the first step towards more fun
  10. yea my friend with a 300 did it it looks ok because the cover isnt a clear plastic like say some jdm EK lights or like a s15 silvia. but well it does give you a different look. he used the boiling water trick. just pour it on and let the adhesive soften up and then pull it appart. you can use the oven method as mentioned earlier too. just be careful to seal it up properly when you put it all back together so your head light doesnt get water stuck in it and clowd up
  11. yea it does sound gooooood well if you are willing to do the kind of work that you talk about then well i also like the idea of the v8, 6speed, and stroked or forced air (or both :D ) as far as i know companies in japan make by order cams, and a stroker kit and a couple of companies make blower kits.
  12. you want to change over to struts? you cant get that air ride without the air sus well it up tp you i guess.
  13. i dont quite get what your trying to say... is your air sus gone?
  14. this is a bit off subject but after i changed the mounts my ps pump hose blew because it was stretched when the engine was lifted to change the mounts.
  15. its fairly unlikely that the rack is bad so well it sounds as if something is hitting the universal joint say the exhaust manifold so well you are going to have to look from under and above the car to see if the steering universal is hitting the manifold or anthing else, look for wear marks, and look at suspenison components and make sure that everything is clear and has free movement.
  16. does it make this noise when you just turn the wheel when you are stoped?
  17. ok read your message and my question is does it do this jerk think while stopped? and when your moving does it jerk when your going straight? has your ps pump been changed lately? and can you describe this "jerk" in more detail.. its still hard to tell what or where its coming from if you could figure that out too.
  18. wow jakino you bought alll new interior? or used? im kind of interested in that ,and also thought about making wood panels maybe out of birds eye maple like the stuff in the sc430 or another wood that would match the color of the leather in the car.
  19. gold, and a green one hopefuly coming soon.
  20. it also protects the the engine from alot of dust.
  21. is that like the same bushing that i replaced??
  22. hey ncsc3 you should take some pics and post it if your going to change out all that stuff
  23. no problem with the help thats what we are here for. ok as for that bleeder, it helps if you can find a clear hose from a hardware store that fits snug on to the nipple so you can see the fluid drain and see if there are bubbles still in the fluid(and so it doesnt spray in your face ;) ) its possible that the trans fluid made the seals sticky in your slave and master so the master might need a rebuild and your slave might need to be replaced. so when you replace these things you need to bleed the system again so its a good idea to buy this clear hose. oh and just poke a hole in an old oil bottle to have somewhere for the brake fluid to drain.(brake fluid is corrosive so its not too good to have splattering around.....just a tip :D )
  24. if you have air sus you can set it to "high" (do the 94s have that switch?)
  25. oh wait just found the audio section......just waiting for this post to be moved......
