  1. near the trottle body there are (usually) 2 sensors. they are black and look like the top view of an igloo it could be the contact between the connector in that case just giggle the connector a bit and see what happens. if the sensor is bad then you have to take it in to a mechanic or the dealer because it is position sensitive and they need to hook it up to an ohm meter or something like that and read resistance at idle to determine its position. i think the sensors run about $100 give or take.
  2. it is totaly possible and i encourage it because it looks sooooo much better but thats just me. i think the front bumper costs about $250 or so then there is paint so you might as well just get the whole shalappy with the skirts and the rear bumper too :D
  3. yea i heard from my transmission guy that toyota torque converters are really good the main impeller (i guess you call it) is furnace brazed (not spot welded like other companies) and a good tranny shop that can do performance work can really do things to the tranny that can hold the power. so apparently these trannies we have are good to mod.
  4. maybe you could use one from a tundra otherwise you could use a getrag 6speed and have the bell housing converted
  5. yea but the thing is he has all the stuff to do it now and he has two dirveshafts so while he is hunting for a 6 speed he can have the drive shaft lenghtened and there will be less down time.
  6. try and use a small amount of mothers metal polish or any other motal polish for that matter and use it in an unseen hidden place like the bottom side of your tips.
  7. its a 24k glod plating kit right? TGS? Twentyfour karat Gold .....Stuff well what ever :P
  8. the mounts might be different but the sluminum subframe is the same , you need to cut out a hole in the fire wall for the clutch master cylinder and apparently a bigger hole for the shifter.
  9. actually the japanese government made a law saying that production cars in japan can not have more than 280hp and i think thats a really stupid law considering competiton from other countries car manufacturers and now i think the new limit is 260hp and i think thats why the new LS,SC,GS along with other higher power cars in japan like the 350Z and things are at 260hp and about how much is 10-15G's canadian? over here i hear its done for about 50-10G's total cost depending on what kinds of options you throw in
  10. i dont think they were urethane i think they were about the same kind of rubber thats on the car but maybe a bit stiffer (maybe? cause its 2 piece?) i would hope that it doesnt squeek then i would have to grease it up every 2-3years.
  11. the difference between the two is i think the cams and turbos oh and just a note apparently the word J@P is not appreciated so it would be best for you not to write that but i am not really offended and i am a full blown japanese but thats just me anyway try pick up a mag from a book store like turbo or super street or something american and call big shops that are in there. or you can try osaka motors its in Quebec(did i spell that correctly?) my friend recently bought an sr20 from there and i put it in for him their site i think had or you could just ask them to order it for you but be careful about what you buy if you can go and look at the motor and what kinds of things that they give you. my friends motor was ok but they sent an automatic harness and auto computer but well i did the wiring anyway and it worked out. so small things (that could have been big) can cause trouble. the guys there are very helpful i hear so i guess give it a search on yahoo and give them a call. good luck!
  12. got a lift or you doin it on the ground? do the tranny swap first(and take alot of pics! :D ) you will be much happier than jsut getting coilovers that you could get anytime.
  13. theres a cmpany that sell needles for about 100bucks maybe 125 on ebay it seems like a good deal all but 2 feedbacks are good you can pick white, green blue. no red though but i think if you ask them they could do it. i am thinking about doing it. they also make the back light too. i want red needles with whiteback.
  14. is the skipping constant after the 15min?
  15. try call around shops around your area see if they have any and if they do at least you can go and see it
  16. yea everything should bolt up you just need to drill holes in the fire wall and while your getting parts you should see if there are any differences between the harnesses and well take his computer too bean: got any pics on what you had to do or are doing while converting? i would love to see some ;)
  17. the add is a bit misleading. they write "gte" but also on the add title it says NA supra and if you take a quick look its just a GE......no turbo.... its probably in good shape but well its almost the same as what you have now you should just buy another SC motor thats a bit below that page and mess around with that because right now its only a 100 bucks.
  18. not sure how well it will fit and i hope you have seen a picture of it because its also a ball well almost oh yea got 6 speeds?
  19. yea dont buy the cheap knobs it makes it harder to shift (in my opinion) I also agree that the s2000 knob is good i think its like 50-60 bucks at honda. my friend has one on his civic. theres two kinds. the newer one comes with a bit of leather.
  20. i might be wrong but i think the gas tank is in the way of the two towers in the rear so its kind of hard to make a tower brace for the rear.
  21. yea to save the bushing i would have needed to make a semi hollow center but you could already push the inner sleve out with your finger on my rear bushing so well i didnt care much for that. maybe try find a local machine shop thats willing to make you a punch its real simple to make and well they shouldnt charge you that much. just give them a simple drawing with dimentions.
  22. yea i agree do it right once hmmm....a grand could get you an intercooler hks....blitz...thats about it so save :P
  23. well its not as smooth right? you could have opted for the factory struts. but im guessing that the hydraulic ones you got were a deal
  24. i have the same problem but well i havent bothered to fix it because its too much work just turn up the music a bit. what i think it is (and it probably is) is the odometer counter gear. its the only thing thats analog looking everything else looks like it moves electronicaly.
