  1. i dont think the mkIII seats fit. amazingly s2000 seats bolt right up! but that looks a little funny
  2. that and sometimes the ground wire wich is just pressed on to the bulb casing looses contact. its best to solder it on or just replace the harness if you cant solder
  3. i think there is a temperature control thing that goes out of control. i forget what its called but its just the thing that the knob it connected to.
  4. just stick with oem. they have decent stopping power and no brake noise.
  5. sounds like your clutch master cylinder is dying. you should get it to a mechanic before it completely dies.
  6. its fairly straight forward but if you are worried just take it in to a shop. and yes you need to take off the valve cover.
  7. there are alot of myths but the most important thing about the so called "new" gas or 134a is that it does not mix with the oil the "old" or r12 gas uses. if you simply just fill up the system with the new 134a gas the r12 oil will sit and not circulate with the new gas, potentially causing compressor failure. the pag oil used with 134 systems will circulate with the gas properly lubricating the compressor. usually you need to get rid of as much of the r12 oil as you can. but even if you dont the oil doent mix with the gas so it kinda just sits somewhere. the o-rings usually can be used from an r-12 system. but they are cheap so you may as well change them. but before anything fix the leak. no ac system ever needs a simple "recharge" if it leaked out there is a leak. fix it or it will keep on leaking and you will just be wasting money.
  8. no idea but you could just call the parts department at toyota and ask or look online at an oem toyota parts place if its the same part number
  9. it could just be another faulty pump. oh also what fluid did you use?
  10. usually wires dont just change order by themselves.
  11. the transmission may be worn. does the sound come from the center of the car or is it a little hard to tell? usually if it vibrates or shakes when the transmission shifts or it feels like it doesnt go in to gear when it shifts, the transmission's clutch packs are worn. you may want to take it to a shop to have someone drive it and tell you whats wrong.
  12. i think this car uses a ribbon rather than a brass ring like older cars. i think if that is the cause of the problem you just need to replace it.
  13. coolant not flowing through the radiator usually results in overheating. low compression in an engine can only be remedied by rebuilding the head or the block or both. blow by can also only be remedied by rebuilding the block or installing a oil catch can will help reduce it but it does not fix it. check if your oil is actually milky if it is it will look like chocolate milk. because if a mechanic noticed this and let you drive away i wouldnt go back/. its kinda like cancer. catch it early in the milky stage and fix it chances of survival are good. leave it alone and the engine will blow up. and by rebuild the ignition system, what parts were changed? i would say make sure your head gasket is really ok first. then maybe change the fuel filter, clean your air filter, and make sure your tires are inflated properly. that can cause your mileage to drop.
  14. no your car is not running lean nor are your cats clogged. change your coil packs and your car will be as good as new.
  15. you can straight swap a non turbo 2jz from any toyota/lexus if its 97 and below but you may have to swap things over to the new engine from the old. little things but the majority will be the same. if you want to swap a turbo 2jz there will be wiring involved and it will take a little more money and time then just putting in the same engine.
  16. i just checked online and the LS400 heater control valve is like 75 bucks but the sc's is almost 400!!! thats terrible....
  17. think about maintenance costs of an old car. i dont know about the NA version but a turbo 300zx waterpump and timing belt job will cost $4000 thats not a mistake. the NA version may be slightly cheaper but i would assume its close to that.
  18. buying new rotors or resurfacing the current ones will also reduce the chance of brake noise.
  19. alot of things could cause this. cold start injectors, mass air flow meter, or even a simple temperature sensor. you will have to go down the list. if you buy an oem repair manual they have a diagnostic proceedure.
  20. what help do you need? just go to the dealer and buy one or go to a body shop and have them order it and paint it.
  21. my LS had this problem but i didnt spot it. i was having the transmission overhauled and my mechanic friend did it for free as part of the transmission job. but i think the part was like 50 or 60 bucks or something along the lines of that. but its up top and visable so it shouldnt cost all that much to replace.
  22. to answer the title question and to shut everyone up, as far as shocks go Penske seems to be the best around that are available to the public, and i would say Swift springs because they are made in Japan and what country did Toyota come out of?
  23. there should be a DIY on timing belt and waterpump. do a search and that is what you will have to do. probably the hardest thing you will have to do is take the crank bolt off. snap on sells a tool for this if you invest in it it will make your life much easier.
  24. you dont have to be in an sc with a kaaz to decide what its like. if you know anyone with a kaaz or something in any car ask for a ride.
  25. a gas smell like you would smell while pumping gas? or a exhaust gas smell?
