  1. Haven't done this, but removal page 4 and installation page 15: PS_steering.pdf Did they say what's wrong with the intermediate shaft? Are you getting noise in the column or at the wheel while turning?
  2. Yeah, 300,000 ohms is too high. Hope the following helps: EG540dtc12.pdf
  3. It uses the 15A Heater fuse and runs through the A/C magnetic clutch relay before going to the A/C clutch. The relay is located in the black box behind the battery. When you remove the cover, the square section nearest the fender has one round relay in it which is the A/C clutch relay. The A/C control assembly tells the ECM to energize the clutch relay. Hopefully it is just the relay. The relay has 4 pins: #1 passenger side rear, #2 drivers side rear, #3 passenger side front, #4 drivers side front. To check the control circuit: With relay removed and A/C control actuated you should read 12V with a voltmeter down in the relay block between pins 1 & 3. To check the relay: Connect battery positive to pin 1 and negative to pin 3. You should have continuity between pins 2 & 4 if the relay is good.
  4. Would need details of service history to offer opinion. You need a technician that is very familiar with these models to accurately determine what repair costs to expect.
  5. Wow, $3.75 a gallon, huh? The fuel capacity of my '93 is 22.5 gallons. My fill-ups average 14-18 gallons. $48-55 at $3.20 a gallon.
  6. I'm guessing you already know that nobody expects to pay asking price when shopping Craigslist, so if you get within a $1000 of your asking price I think you will have done well. Having said that, your asking price is right in line with others in your area so with the excellent condition and maintenance records you might just get more. Sharp car by the way!
  7. I'll be looking forward to the advice you get. I am currently in the same situation with a '91 Stealth. Have been told that when NOx is high with good CO's then it is a lean condition. <_<
  8. Good clean sets show up on Ebay regularly and run about $135 in their online stores. The '93 consists of 2 volumes (Publication #'s RM300U1 & RM300U2). Another manual to watch for is EWD164U 1993 LS400 Electrical Wiring Diagram. It is the most clean , nicely laid-out, color-coded electrical manual I've ever seen.
  9. +1 on the voltage drop testing. This seems to be a lost diagnostic technique. Glad you brought it up!
  10. The code 41 was eliminated when I replaced the capacitors in the ECM. Post.
  11. The details are in this Post.
  12. Post #7 of the following has links with pics: PS Solenoid Control Valve
  13. Had them on for a year. Then my son played "crash-dummy" in it.
  14. There's not one. I downloaded portions of the manual. Details in this Post.
  15. I wasn't thrilled with the quality, but I had no problems with them. Actually my wife has asked me a few times if I'm going to get some for the '93. (The silver '94 I had them on was wrecked and I wasn't able to retrieve them.) Not a great picture, but the only one I could find:
  16. My '94 had a code 41 and a TPS did not fix the problem. Hopefully, that won't be the case with yours. Ended up exchanging the ECM. As for the tester specific to these cars, This is an old promotion for the factory tester. Don't know if your up for this kind of expense. Maybe someone else on here can tell if you if there is an aftermarket that will work your vehicle's OBDI interface and what the limitations would be as compared to the factory unit.
  17. LexLS.com has the following tutorial: How to Read & Clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes
  18. LexLS.com has the following tutorial: How to Read & Clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes
  19. Here is a Link that explains coils and makes the point that a basic resistance test may test good while the coil may start to fail under load.
  20. No, I didn't change the PDF. Somehow I missed the section relating to the display when I did my downloading, so I can't help with that. Sorry.
  21. :D That is so cool - I experienced part of your joy just by reading your post! Welcome to the Club and I wish you many long years of happiness with the "old gal" as well as with your wife.
  22. The following from the manual for a 1994 may help you (pages 6 & 14): oilpump.pdf
