  1. It may be the ECU but could be something else. When the check engine is blinking it usually means that the engine is misfiring and in danger of damaging the cats.
  2. That's a pretty long drive. Make sure you check all fluids as well as tires and brakes before you get o the road. Also check the condition of the spare to see if it has air.
  3. Like Billy said, you can just move the cams back to their original position but DON'T make a 360 degree turn. Then continue on with the procedure from landars tutorial. It's as simple as that.
  4. I would wait until the next fill up to see if the car still exhibits this behavior. I've never had problems when putting seafoam in the tank.
  5. These are all common problems with the LS. The clunk/rattle could be your strut rod bushings or the ball joints. You can get coilovers or do spring shock combo but you'll get more answers if you google ls 400 suspension upgrades. Make sure that the power steering pump is not leaking onto the alternator. If it is you can buy the rebuild kit which is cheap. As for the lighting check the fuses and go from there. Electrical problems are the worst. There are plenty of ppl that fix the lcd, there are DIYs for all of these if you just google.
  6. Did you first take it back to the shop that rebuilt it? Check the fluid and make sure it's not low.
  7. If you damaged the upper oil pan your probably going to need a used engine. Then there's the cost to install it. The engine could cost anywhere from $500 to $2000. A transmission $500 to $1000. The differential probably about $300. You could buy another used LS for what all this would cost you IF your mechanic knows what they are talking about. I'm moving this thread over to the LS forum.
  8. Dicer , I mean Exhaustgases just likes what he likes so to each his own.
  9. What year is your LS? This thread should help. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-1st-and-2nd-gen-1990-2000/236651-rear-knuckle-bushings-source-pic-attached.html
  10. Ok I checked and you have been a member a while. My apologies.
  11. This borders on a for sale ad which you are not permitted to do since your a new member without the required post count and no one to vouch for you. I'm going to leave it for now.
  12. Been busy lately but I'm glad you got it right and it was an easy fix.
  13. The pics are showing up now, thanks.
  14. Yeah the Y-pipe is a common problem, water and whatever else gets trapped inside the shielding and rusts it out. Same thing happened to mine. It would be better to remove the shielding altogether.
  15. Your pics are not showing up for me.
  16. The 400s in the states don't come with any removable tints on the windows as far as I know and mine most certainly did not.
  17. Bulbs get weaker over time. Are they the original bulbs?
  18. Depends on how you use the car. Is it just you in the vehicle or wife and kids? I personally believe you can get another 30k out of the belt if it just hit 90k.
  19. Glad that you got it figured out.
  20. Replace what?
  21. Obviously something is not lined up correctly. Don't drive the car until you figure this out.
  22. I received your pm 49 Ghost and As far As I know The LS never came from the Factory with tint that you can remove. The slight tint in the glass from the factory is built into the glass and has a code that you need to use when ordering replacement glass. Now the dealer might have put tint on the glass when they sold it but it's not factory tint.
  23. You have probably damaged the rear defroster already. Best course of action is to take it to a professional tint place and see what they can do. This is one of the dangers when applying tint to rear windows. How long has the tint been on there?
  24. How old are the bags? It's probably a sign that there's a leak.
  25. Is the check engine light on once the car has started and running for a while? If the battery and all associated cables check out there it's possible your starter is going south. Especially with the clicks you are hearing. It does sound like an electrical issue though But the shop has ruled that out. House does the car drive once it's been started and how many miles does it have?
