  1. Mines had a short in the wiring which should be easy for an installer to locate. Maybe not the exact location but close enough to bypass that particular section of wiring.
  2. Probably got water on the electrical connections. Once it's dried out everything "should" be fine. There is probably water sitting in the valley next to the starter.
  3. No fuse to change. It's most likely getting stuck at the bottom. Try smacking the top of your dash above the instrument cluster a couple of times. This should make it move but it's only a temporary fix. Read this thread for a permanent fix.
  4. I think it's behind the glove box.
  5. He asked about the axle not the differential but I see what you mean.
  6. There's no preventive maintenance to do on the axle.
  7. What is an axial? Do you mean axle????
  8. It does look like a PDR guy can massage that out.
  9. That link leads to a thread with no real info.
  10. Use the key or pull the lever that's near your left knee while your sitting in the drivers seat.
  11. Let us know how it turns out. Which hose is leaking? You don't want ANYTHING leaking above the alternator.
  12. If you have not fixed this issue already I would purchase a Denso remanufactured alternator from Rock auto.com. http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/lexus,2000,ls400,4.0l+v8,1363564,electrical,alternator+/+generator,2412
  13. Over here they would not have gave you the time of day. Great story though,
  14. HID bulb were an option in the 98 model I believe.
  15. Glad it's working out for you. Just keep a good ear out for any future issues with it and have your plan of attack ready.
  16. Sorry for the confusion, I did not realize that he was commenting on a 92. I only have the 98 and there are only 3 wires connected to the cylinder that plug into a connector in the door.
  17. No seat heaters? I guess you don't need them where your located.
  18. I'm just talking about the ones that read codes and nothing else. Now the ones that have a lot of features still cost a bit more.
  19. I Always wondered about the Mark designation. Thanks for the lesson.
  20. OBD2 readers are cheap as well.
  21. Glad that you got it worked out.
  22. Lol, it's easier if you have 2 ppl to lift that heavy intake.
  23. Thanks for that info. I don't need the lights and I lock/unlock with the remote. I was thinking of trying to resolder the 3 wires back onto the cylinder if it turned out to be detrimental to the operation of the car.
  24. I just changed my drivers door handle and had to remove the lock. All 3 wires attached to the cylinder broke off flush with the cylinder. I was real worried since I don't know what that connector controls. I put the door back together and tested all my lock functions with the remote key and everything worked as it always did. I'm wondering if that connector is somehow part of the security system. I have to test if the alarm sounds.
