  1. Find one off a junkyard car. http://www.car-part.com/index.htm
  2. For the 98-00 yes because the camshaft needs to be removed but for your 96 I don't believe you have to remove the valve cover.
  3. This happened to me a number of times until I figured out what was going on. You have to manually release the parking brake under the start button when this happens. It's actualy a safety feature when the brake hold is on too long the computer assumes that the car is in park or something to that effect.
  4. Well known issue across the years. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-1st-and-2nd-gen-1990-2000/715422-1997-ls400-door-lock-actuator-motors.html https://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/mae_yas/1405005.html
  5. Before looking into another transmission I would do a drain and fill of the transmission pan while making sure there are no leaks. Also make sure the fluid level is correct.
  6. I know I'm late but I'm glad you got everything worked out.
  7. Still a few of us around though I upgraded to a 430 then 460L I still have the 98 that stays parked most of the time.
  8. Yes the old alternator probably damaged the battery.
  9. Sorry to hear that, try to take it easy and get yourself back together.
  10. This is the problem. The autozone alternators must be crap and they know it.
  11. Just a guess but maybe it's the Autozone alternator. I would of at the very least tried a Denso from rockauto.
  12. I don't know if it would change anything but I would def get the proper battery for the car. A weak battery can cause havoc in these cars sometimes.
  13. Things do happen coincidentally sometimes. Why not just purchase a used cam sensor and see what happens.
  14. I suggest that you put some dye in there to find the leak. AC issues can get very expensive don't keep guessing on this one.
