  1. Thanks for the info. It will probably be a long time until we receive the recall letter, since it affects so many cars. I got the notice but nothing to go in for the temporary fix yet. They say they are going to shorten the pedal, later install a different design pedal. I took out my stock mat just to err on the safe side in case anything did happen I'd be covered. Just for kicks I have gone out and practiced throwing the shifter in neutral. :D
  2. I don't think you'd want to be putting any floor mats in the car right now. In fact, Lexus is recommending removing the carpeted driver side mats due to problems with unintended acceleration. http://www.consumersearch.com/blog/massive...eleration-issue
  3. I guess you could change the differential gears, but you'd lose performance in all gears. I don't think just trying to change 5th would be doable. I'm not sure but the rear end gears for the manual trans may be a different ratio than the auto.
  4. It's not pinned but the search function works. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=33700
  5. I think if I was to live in snow country again I'd be running 16" steelies with higher profile tires.
  6. It's not all that hard once you get in there and look around. The hardest part is getting your hands in there.
  7. Looks like Sewell also want's $330 for an OEM fender. http://www.sewellpartsonline.com/assembly....07&year=165
  8. If you're replacing original Halogen bulbs with a HID kit, the bulbs are H11 The ones you mentioned sound like OEM HID bulbs.
  9. There are links to DIY HID here. http://my.is/forums/3982972-post3.html
  10. Go to this site. I think you pay ten dollars for twenty four hours access to download everything you need. https://techinfo.toyota.com/techInfoPortal/...o.toyota.com%2F
  11. I think you created a dead short during bulb installation, and maybe moved something around that did away with the short. It may have been just enough to dirty up the power flow and confused some of the several little computers that control things, maybe even the ECU.
  12. Don't drive on it too much before you get it fixed. Running low pressure with a nail or something in it can ruin the tire. Maybe put the donut spare on till you can get it fixed.
  13. BTW: That one fastener in question doesn't come off. It stays with the cover when the cover is removed.
  14. Keep turning that fastener counter clockwise maybe three or four turns till it feels pretty wobbly and then just jerk it up smartly and it should come right off. To replace push it down firmly and then turn clockwise a few turns. It really never tightens like a regular screw.
  15. That's one of the easiest mods you can do yourself and for not very much money. After painting you just put on the logo decals and you're done.
  16. You can get all your personalized settings made by the dealer one time for free.
  17. No problems if you go with the same wattage as stock bulbs. You only do the low beams so they aren't on in the daytime unless you turn them on. You can always go back to stock bulbs if you have a problem. 4300 is the color temp of stock HID. You will see some blue. The kit you go with is up to you or do some research. Try to find one with integrated ballast and starters and the smaller the better. There's not much room to place them so it's hard if the units are very big. I went with MTec. If you get those make sure to get the Japanese made ones. Also make sure you seal around the wires where they go into the housing really good so you don't get moisture in there.
  18. thanks ended up finding that in the manual you posted. Any idea why there are two fuses for the same function. One is drivers side and the other passenger. It's way to friggin cold up here to noodle around outside. I'll take it into the dealership. Are fuses covered under warranty? I was under the impression that fuses would be excluded like brakes and bulbs and clutches etc. Thanks again to all for help schitz. They should cover it. Fuses shouldn't be blowing unless there is some other problem. I think the seats are heated and cooled so maybe one fuse for the heaters and one for the fans. Just my guess. Or one for each seat.
  19. The fuse access doors are in the kick panels near where your feet to, not in the doors.
  20. i still couldnt get the damn bolt off.. im thinking about heating the bolt up and loosing it like that.. Heating might work or take it to a shop and get it cut off.
  21. Sounds like it's up to the buyer.
  22. It's in the owners manual. If you don't have one you can sign up on Lexus.com and access it.
