  1. Hi Guys, I live in the North West and the Snow Storm that has been reeking havoc for the last couple days have gave a lot of people around here a lot of problems, but fortunatelly for me, it's just a normal day. My family took a trip to the beach over the weekend and came back to Portland on Monday. Unfortunatelly we got stuck in between the Coastal Mountain Range and Portland during the storm. I was quite worried about how we were going to get home, and I have only had my IS250 AWD for less then a week. I will tell you though, this car is just amazing. Driving through the mountain range it drove like a champ. I simply put on the Snow Tranction control and the car did the rest. I drove nearly 60 miles of pure snow covered rodes with heavy snow coming down and the car never slipped once. I had the factory All-Season tires on as well with no chains (They were all sold out at Seaside). I feel 100 % now about my purchase of the car and the choice between AWD and the rear wheel drive model. If any of you live in an area that the weather can change drastically, I would highly recommend you get the AWD Version. Hope this helps, Craig
  2. Why so many miles on it? was it used as a demo in seattle? was the sticker sealed on the window orignal or did it have scotch tape around the border? i'm asking because my dealer has to "search for a car, and i don't want one from someplace else that was test driven. when i got my acura, it had 9 miles on it. Well, things happened so fast. I don't even remember the sticker being on the window. The way that it was explained to me is that the car was driven down from Seatle Washington to Portland Oregon, which is around 150 miles apart. They brought it down for a trade. Unfortuanatelly, there is only one dealer around here and to get the car I wanted, they had to make a trade. I don't really worry about it. I am just so happy to be driving it. If you are worried about it, I would just communicate with your Lexus dealership and get a better understanding of the process and what your expectations are. I am sure everything will work out.
  3. Hey Guys, Well I picked up my car on Monday and the last few days have been amazying. I don't think it's hit me yet and I'm still in utter Shock. The car is just amazying. From what I can tell so far, the only major difference between the 250 and the 350 is of course the power, but also the 18 inch wheels and the AWD seems to be a little higher, at least is shows in the wheel well. I havn't been able to take any pictures yet mainly due to the terrible weather we have had here in Oregon. I'm heading for the coast this weekend and I will be taking my camera with me. Hopefully, I'll have some sunshine during the weekend. One thing that I found out was that the car I was supposed to get ended up not being it all. It was supposed to be shipped and the previos selections that I noted were not exact. The car I actually got had everything I mentioned above except for the XM Satalite package. Lexus told me that they don't install it at the port anymore and you have to add it later. In supstitution, I got the spoiler instead. I'm not a really big fan of the factory spoiler but oh well. Car came from Lexus of Seatle, and when I received it, it all ready had 176 miles on it. I'm still having issues figuring out the Navigation system, and the voice recognition isn't exactly very acurate, especially when I tell it to call somone. Luckily with the holiday, I'll have more time to play with it, and driving to the coast this weekend will be a fun road trip, even though it's only an hour in a half away. I will post some updates as soon I can. Thanks again for everyone for their advice. Have a great Thanksgiving and I will chat with you soon.
  4. Hi guys, Thanks for the great advice. I went over to the dealership today and they said my car will be in Monday. Woohoo!!! While I was there, I was looking around the property, and they had hidden an IS350 with the X package, man was it nice. It had it's normal sticker on with no reserve. It was only a few thousand more than what my car is. Man is it tempting to go buy that car. Definetelly a sweet looking vehicle. I asked my sales person about it and she kinda blew it off, saying that they do not have that vehicle. I think it's there first one, and they want to keep it in the lobby to show off. Oh well........... I will defenitelly sit down with the manual (I read it's like 300 pages long) and take a good look at before I start asking questions. The RPM's suggestion is great. I don't want to do any damage or scar the car for the rest of it's life, ya know. One more question though, do the HID lights work for both low beam and high beam? Thanks,
  5. Hi Guys and Gals. I will be picking up my IS250 AWD on Tuesday and I am so excited. I ended up going with Tungsten Pearl with grey interior. Navigation package, and the Luxury Package. Also included is Wood Trim Kit, Preferred Accessory Package, and XM Satelite Radio. I can't tell you how excited I am and I am having problems sleeping at night in anticipation! :P Can you guys give me any pointers on anything regarding your first days with your IS that would be helpfull to know? I greatly appreciate it. I am not planning on doing to many mods on it, at least not for now. Probably just get the windows tinted, and hardwire a Escort Passport 8500 X50 Radar detector into the dash. I will post some pics once the car arrives. Thanks and hope everyone has a nice weekend.
  6. I am picking up my IS-250 AWD next week at Lexus of Portland (Oregon). They are giving me $2000 off msrp. If you are interested, you might as well fly up here and Drive your IS250 home down I-5. It would be one great road trip. They seem to have a steady amount of them in stock. I however have to wait until next week for mine to arrive based on the packages I chose. Hope this helps.
  7. Hey Guys, I will be picking up my IS250 next week and it comes with the XM satalite package. My question in how long is the subscription and is it even included or do you have to pay for that separate? I read on the official Lexus page it's for only a sertin time. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  8. Keep in mind that the same amount of dirt/road debris and the like are going to be equal on any color car. No matter either way you have to wash it. I understand that you have to wash it. That's not really this issue. The issue is that Black requires a lot more work and upkeep to keep it clean and looking nice which it deserves. I've had Silver cars before, as well as other colors, including my previous car, an IS300 which was silver. For the most part, it looked great all the time. And I washed it once a week or so. Either way, just getting the vehicle is a luxury within itself. I cannot wait to start enjoying it.
  9. Thank you everyone for helping me on this subject. I've decided to go with Silver, which is what I originally wanted in the beginning of my search. Your responses clarified was I was thinking in the first place. Black looks great right after you wash it, but after a day or two, it needs to be washed again. I talked to the dealer yesterday and they said that it will take two to three weeks to get a Silver IS250 AWD. I'm thinking of waiting for the December to Remember event. Does anybody have any experience with D to R events? Also, I live in Portland Oregon, so there is only one dealer in town. Has anyone had any experience with Lexus of Portland? I want to get a good deal andI would prefer not to Pay MSRP. Anyways, thanks again and if any of you have any suggestions or ideas on pricing and sales tactics that would be greatly appreciated.
  10. Thank you everyone for your responses. I love the new IS in Black, but I'd rather apreciate not having to clean it every other day to keep it looking nice, which is totally deserves. With Silver, I could wash it once a week or longer and it will still look great. I would also like to hear from current owners of the new IS250/350 with Black to get there opinion on the subject and if they are happy with there decision.
  11. Hi Guys! I am new to this site and need some help. I will be purchasing a new 2007 Lexus 250awd in the next month, but I am torn between Silver and Black. I have never had a Black car before and I am optimistically cautious about getting one in that color because I'm afraid that it will get durty to easily and the Paint will look terrible after 2 to 3 years. Saying that, I love how it looks on the IS250. If anyone can give some advice on this matter it would be greatly appreciated. Positves and Negatives and so forth. Thank you in advance. And if you have either pictures of your IS in either Silver or Black that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
