  1. Several people have mentioned a noise on startup, but I don't know if any have determined the cause. I've never heard it with mine.
  2. It's part of the scheduled maintenance but I've never done it or had it done.
  3. It's throwing a code. You should have them read to code and correct the problem.
  4. Look at the console and there should be a snow button next to the ect button. That's for snow mode, which decreases throttle response for driving in snow. Push that button to turn it on and off. You want it off.
  5. I go to whatever forum I need to get info. Sometimes I link from one to another. I only regularly post here and my.IS.
  6. I did that once with a radio. The car dealer wanted to take out the radio and send it off to be fixed. Instead I took it to a local radio shop, had it fixed, and took the bill and the bad part back to the dealer. Never heard any more about it.
  7. Here's a poll of colors that members own with some pics. From CL. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=202902
  8. If you're driving mostly at speeds under 40 MPH then the car is mostly not going to shift above 5th gear. If you're on a level highway at 45 and up, then you should be in 6th most of the time. If not, then there is a problem, or you're in S mode and the paddle shifter needs to move it to 6.
  9. To reset the oil change system, follow the procedure below: 1. Turn the engine switch OFF. 2. While pressing the trip meter reset knob (→P. 100), set the engine switch to the IG-ON mode. Continue to press and hold the knob until the trip meter displays 000000. From the owners manual, 4-3 Do it yourself maintenance. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...ost&id=3751
  10. They are right about the warranty since the headlight has been modified. Lexus recommends using a new gasket each time that back cover is removed. Also you have to seal up the hole where you put the wires through. You might be able to dry out the housing with a hair dryer and then reseal everything to keep moisture out.
  11. No I don't, but you can get all the tech info at http://techinfo.lexus.com/ For $10 you can get a 24 hr subscription and download all the shop info for your car.
  12. Turn on the pink lights, the man wants to see a pink car. :D
  13. The above is correct. My IS350 doesn't shift to 6 until its above 40 mph. Shifts a little later when the engine is cold. Setting the speed and RPM indicator rings is in this section of the owner's manual. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...ost&id=3761 Not sure what you're saying about downshifting, but if you put the mode selector in gear postition you should be able to see the actual gear in the display window.
  14. Take it to a Lexus dealer and get a complete inspection for about $100. They'll check most everything. There is a tolerance on drive shaft play and they should be able to say if it's out of spec or not.
  15. CTS is just plain ugly in my opinion.
  16. It's downshifting. Put the display in the mode that shows the gear it's in and watch that. When the revs go up you'll see that the trans has downshifted by one gear. Leave you foot off the brake and you should be able to feel the extra deceleration.
  17. Not a very good pic, but you can get the idea. Here's some for sale ads for door sills. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/search.php?searchid=1123342
  18. A salesman might tell you just about anything if it's something he doesn't have or if it's hard go get.
  19. Mine too. I just wipe it down with some vinly dressing and knock the dust off once in awhile.
  20. I believe 30,000 miles is the first "major" service with brake fluid and coolant changes, etc.

  22. One other thing you might want to do would be to reset the ECU by removing the black ground wire from the battery for about 10 minutes, then reconnecting it. Sometimes that will help the ECU to learn the new intake. As far as fuel mileage, it's possible but probably not enough to measure. You might have to test it to find out as each driver has somewhat different results. Gas mileage goes down for some people because they keep flooring the gas pedal to hear the sound of the intake. :D
  23. That can happen either due to the mass air flow sensor not properly located or if the two small evap system hoses aren't properly hooked up to the intake.
