  1. It's probably for real. Auto auctions publish the actual selling prices of cars and distribute the list to dealers. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0FJ...v32/ai_21024063
  2. Just go over and put chewing gum on his chair or something.
  3. As long as you get an IS that's been well maintained, there shouldn't be any unusual problems.
  4. You can go to http://www.edmunds.com/ and price one out with options by clicking on "appraise a used car".
  5. You may have a bad or just disconnected wheel rotation sensor. Trac works by using the ABS system and a bad sensor might set off the lights you have. First you could try resetting the ECU by disconnecting the negative (black) wire from the battery for about 10 minutes and then reconnecting. The warning lights may go out. However if they come back on in a few miles, then there is a problem. You can get the error codes read for fee at a local auto parts store like Autozone, etc. That will at least narrow down the location of the problem. If all else fails you can get Lexus to diagnose, but you don't necessarily have to get it fixed there, depending on what it is. There are indpendent shops and some Toyota dealers who can repair for less.
  6. $2000 off MSRP would be before tax and title fees, assuming MSRP = retail sticker price.
  7. Check out the retail and invoice prices in this post. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=34315 Pick what you want to get and then try go buy as close to invoice as possible.
  8. I'm not sure where I saw it but there's dealer instuctions for fixing the clip issue, so they must be doing it on IS cars.
  9. Maybe they're using stick-on overlays.
  10. As the above post says, you'll have to take the 17's off the rims to get the TPM sensors out. This should be done by someone who knows what they are doing so as not to damage the sensors. If you're going to change winter and summer, then you're probably better off getting a whole new set of sensors for your new tires and rims. Once they've been coded in by the dealer you can select tire set 1 and tire set 2 on your display whenever you swap wheels.
  11. You have both a hand brake and a parking brake?
  12. The first thing would be to buy a good tire pressure guage and find out for sure if all 4 tires are up to spec on pressure. You can't really tell just by looking.
  13. Sure, they should address any complaints you have under warranty.
  14. Nice pics. Yes, the tires have a rib that's supposed to help protect the rim.
  15. If you like the TP and it's there, go get it. MR wasn't my first choice but it was the first car in, I bought it and I love it. I've had extra months of enjoyment while other people were trying to find or waiting for cars.
  16. According to the Lexus website the IS250AWD comes standard with 17" all season tires. I've heard some people say they drive in snow mode but with trac off in snow. That might be a good combination I'd suggest going to a big empty parking lot in the snow sometime and trying different things to determine how you want to drive the car. I've never driven a AWD setup such as this, but I've driven 4WD in snow and the only real advantage is the straight ahead traction. You can still get out of control, and you can't stop any better than other vehicles.
  17. Even with AWD 4 wheels without traction isn't better than 2. I think you're gonna need snow tires.
  18. As far as I know it's the 8 speed automatic.
  19. I think it will work. People have done it with MP3 on burned CD's.
  20. Vid with sound clip of ISF revving.
  21. Some pics taken by my.is member ISBrandon300 at the auto show. These pics look better than some of the commercial pics we've seen.

    What If?

That's why people steal cars and sell the parts instead of just selling the cars.
