  1. There are a couple of slightly different methods. You know when you have it off when the "skidding car" icon shows up on the lower right of the instrument panel. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=27963
  2. If you floor it with the VDIM off will the tires spin from start? Just by hitting the gas paddle? Yes. I just tried it again this morning. ECT control off, VDIM off. Hit the gas hard from a standstill. Car revved immediately, tires spun and car fishtailed left then right then got traction and next thing I knew I had caught up with traffic. No delay in power, now waiting, just goes.
  3. I haven't noticed any hesitation.
  4. One of our guys dynoed stock at 274.04 HP and 245.45 TQ. You don't think that's enough torque?
  5. I like the ole castor bean oil myself. When you get used to it, it really smells great.
  6. Sure the VDIM was off? Try any donuts, drifting and stuff?
  7. You can get an extra set of OEM sensors here. Lots $$, but cheaper than anwhere else. http://my.is/store/customer/product.php?pr...8&cat=47&page=1
  8. I dunno what the guy expects, but 0 to 60 times of 5.5 or better ain't to bad. If you turn off VDIM you can just about smoke the tires at will on the IS350.
  9. Moth balls.
  10. Keep asking around. Ask on all the other Lexus forums. I don't think you'll get the answer.
  11. Thanks for the reply. You seem to be the expert, anything else I can add to IS to make it stand out or perform better? Also, how has your experience been with the car? One other question - dealer says four to six weeks to locate, do you feel this is accurate / Some perfomance mods are starting to come out. LMS has intake and exhaust. Fujitsi has an intake. More stuff will be coming along as the aftermarket people catch up. I've posted links to most of this here. Four to 6 weeks sounds about right for a special order from allocations. A dealer might shop around with other dealers in the district and if the find what you want could get it in a week. However, somebody would have to have what you want in stock and be willing to trade with your dealer. I like my car more every time I get in it. It does great on the twisty mountain roads around here and it's really good on longer interstate trips. I don't see how it could be better for me.
  12. Very doubtful since the Sportcross sold very poorly.
  13. 5.3 - 5.5 seconds, depending on weather conditions, etc. Seen some 1/4 mile times anywhere from 13.7 to 14.0.
  14. I don't know of anybody that's had side mouldings put on. One thing to consider though is a clear bra. Lots of people do that to prevent stone chips on the bumper and hood. The only problem I've heard of was that one guy's car got keyed, but that's hard to prevent.
  15. You gotta crank the IPOD volume all the way up. Then it works pretty well.
  16. There's no screen as such. The a/c screen is very similar to the radio dial. Just a strip with lcd letters and numbers. The rest of the space has the control buttons for the A/C system.
  17. The drain plug and the filter are pretty easy to get to on the new IS. Here's a tutorial on how to do it. http://my.is/forums/showthread.php?t=28295...ight=oil+change
  18. Not much feedback yet. One of the guys on my.IS has the LMS intake and exhaust. Just got them I think.
  19. LMS has built a prototype exhaust that should be on the market soon. Lexus dealers are supposed to be getting a HKS exhaust system as well. http://www.luxurymotorworks.com/lms_supercharged_intake.php
  20. Car seat shouldn't be a problem.

  22. I really doubt it too. I've only heard it as a rumor, someones wishful thinking. It's certainly not something to be a factor in delaying buying a new car.
  23. There should be a manual adjustment you can make to get the lights to the proper aim.
  24. as it states in the 2006 avalon owners manual ....start the car with the parking prake on ....then foot brake twice....(keep the foot brake down)....then parking brake twice (keep it down ).... skid light on dash comes on.
