  1. I don't hear it with the windows up. Maybe your car is missing some insulation or something. The only time I notice it is like going to a drive through with the window down and next to a wall. Maybe put some more insulation on the engine cover and put some dynomat under the hood and the side covers. I came from a IS300 and that inline six was very quiet at idle. The 350, however just doesn't bother me that much. Back in the day they put hydraulic lifters in big V-8 engines. We changed the cams and put solid lifters to improve performance. The little ticking sound of the solid lifters and the lopint idle from the cam was a sign that you had a high performance engine.
  2. I don't sell parts. I just have the list. You can probably get it from a Lexus dealer or try to order it online. Here's one place. http://www.irontoad.com/l_quote.htm
  3. So a with a 100 shot of nos, the IS350 should really kick !Removed!.
  4. Then there's always the story about the old farmer in bib overalls with manure on his shoes who walked into a car store. He was, of course, ignored by most of the salesmen. Then a young new salesman walked over and asked to help the old guy. The farmer said "I want that car" and proceeded to whip out a roll of money that would choke a horse.
  5. I dont have it He's talking about IS300. my bad but IS350 also has little tickling noise from the hood. That's the direct injectors.
  6. That should be part of the course, contacting the managment of the places they want to post their survey. :D
  7. I already responded to another team's survey on a different forum over a month ago. This team needs to catch up.
  8. I brought mine home the night of the introduction party in October.
  9. I've seen this mentioned several times on other boards. I don't think anyone has determined a cause or fix.
  10. Get in touch with the internet sales manager for the dealeship and express your interest. Make an appointment to meet him at the store for a test drive. Let them know you are serious. If you still have problems then go to the general manager.
  11. High performance tires are going to be a little noisier than some others. Mine make more noise around 40-50 MPH on some road surfaces. You can get quieter tires, but you'll give up some grip and handling and speed capability. Tires are pretty specific, so to get one or two qualities you compromise on a couple of others.
  12. You mean smoke the one rear tire not tires. There is no limited slip differential on the IS350 that I am aware of... Both. I had my trunk monkey jumping from side to side to shift the traction. :D
  13. That's exactly the problem. Castor oil is virtually no better than those oils in a 2 stroke bike. It ceased that long ago withe the introduction of oils made for two cycles. It is horrible. The lowest form of liquid lubrication. I honestly think that if you pumped AstroGlide through an engine fast enough so it didn't steam, it would be better. See my pother post as to why castor oil sucks. The difference here isn't a "why synthetic should be standard and dino go to hell". It IS fact by anyone that has ever monitored, or taken apart an engine that's been run on castor oil that synthetic is vastly superior. I'm sure you have plenty experience riding enduro and moto cross in the early 1960's. Please try to pay attention and apply your knowdege to the post you are replying to. Read the link to Castrol, read my posts. I am not comparing Castor to synthetic. In the 1970's when synthetics came out we started using Castrol Synthetic, especially in bikes that had direct oil injection as opposed to the old mix it with the gas lubrication. How many of those did you tear down and examine? We didn't have no *BLEEP*ing synthetics. The only other choice was gummy ole outboard motor oil.
  14. Per my previous post in this thread: This is now turning into another beat to death oil thread.:chairshot: Just what these boards need Monarch where are you ??? I hate oil.
  15. Before synthetics came along , regular oil clogged and gummed up everything on 2 stroke bikes. Castor was the only way to go.
  16. Aquapel glass treatment by PPG enhances safety of 2004 Lexus RX330 http://corporateportal.ppg.com/na/oemglass...ws/03_12_02.htm
  17. Lexus treats some windows with Aquapel. I get it on Ebay and use it on the windshield. The IS350 front door windows are factory treated. This guy sells it for about $5 per application. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZfrside007QQhtZ-1
  18. Ummmmm..........what? http://www.castrol.com/castrol/genericarti...ntentId=6003186
  19. Black box (DRL resistor) for 2002 IS300 Part number = 82695-53010 That's the only parts list I have.
