  1. The oil filter is not self contained in a can like most. It's an element that goes into a housing attached to the engine. If you look straight down at the front of the engine, at the bottom you should see a silver cannister. That's the filter housing. You take the cap off the housing and change the filter and O ring and put the cap back on. I'd suggest you go to http://irontoad.com and get genuine Toyota filters, cost about $5 each with the O ring included. There's a DIY on oil and filter change here: http://my.is/forums/showthread.php?p=40147...d=1#post4014700
  2. 91 octane is abut the highest that's widely availble in California. Most IS owner run with that just fine.
  3. They should be adjusted. All bulbs don't fit the same. Here's the aiming instructions for IS250/350 Headlight_aim.pdf
  4. If they are illuminated, the dome light switch has to be in the "door" position for them to come on, I believe.
  5. but how you add nav? cuz i went to deal, they all say IS250 cannot add any navigation as stock~~ so im so confuse when you saying add nav and use bluetooth?? You can order a 250 with nav. But if you already have a 250 without nav, then you don't have bluetooth capability.
  6. That's right. No nav, no Bluetooth.
  7. If you have halogen headlights the HID kit to get is H11.
  8. People have swapped to the GTE supra engine, but it isn't just a simple plug and play.
  9. I use Michelin acid free wheel cleaner, then coat with Michelin brake dust repellant. The dust doesn't stick as badly and wipes right off.
  10. They want $2000 more for an identical car, all the same options, or does the other car perhaps have added options? Call the dealership and ask to talk to the general manager. Make an appointment to go talk to him. Explain the situation and complain that the salesman is not being good to you. If you can, take along a friend who can speak both languages well and let him help explain.
  11. SRT Installation PDF file. http://members.cox.net/sd-harris/SRT.pdf
  12. Check Google for salvage yards and do a parts search of some of them. You might be surprised what you can find and sometimes at a good price.
  13. I don't want loud exhaust either. Had my fill of that back in the day.
  14. There's guys with the LMS intake on my.IS forums. Also dyno graphs. LMS exhaust made 22 HP over stock. Intake didn't do much. There was never any chip for the IS300 and I doubt there will be one for the new model. Piggy backs or standalone puters are about the only way to get around the stock ECU.
  15. That's not unusual for the IS. It's geared lower overall than the ES.
  16. This is for a camry/solara but it should fit the es: http://cgi.ebay.com/97-01-TOYOTA-CAMRY-SOL...1QQcmdZViewItem Yeah, what the heck. For that kind of money, if it doesn't work, it makes a good wall hanger. :D
  17. Nice. Some good looking real cars there.
  18. Don't know if anyone is even making a hitch for this car yet.
  19. I believe it's been discussed here, but the smart key will still work with a dead battery. You just have to hold it close to the start button. Nothing to fear. It also comes with a metal key that you can use to unlock the door. BTW: Most of the owners manual is posted in PDF files here: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=25999
  20. Once you drive a 350 you might just forget all about manual transmissions. :D
  21. That's about right for the AWD. The RWD is in the mid 7 second range.
  22. $36K is MSRP for a base IS350.
